In this one, I am again joined by Juston, as we explore the rock crawling near Farmington New Mexico! Juston's FJ Cruiser is on 33" tires, I'm on 42" tires, and in this video I show that there is fun for everyone in Farmington, no matter where you're at in your build. If you like Moab, and Sand Hollow, or any thing like those places, you really need to go check Farmington out!
This video randomly popped up in my feed.. glad I clicked on it! *tips hat to the 1M plates
Awesome! Thanks for watching!
So nice to have a friend to go wheeling with
Juston is a great wheeling buddy!
We make a good team!!
Ah! So that’s the incident with the lower link you were talking about when we were off-roading the other day! That area looks amazing for off-roading, but all the dust on the rocks adds to the difficulty for sure!
Hi Ken, your rig surely is so capable. I can't think that there is a trail that it won't be able to tackle. Perhaps you should try that FJ in exploring planet Mars next time, hahaha! Good fabrication job, keep enjoying the fruit of your labor. Keep safe out there my friend. Regards to your dear spouse.
Love watching you two on the trail and seeing the difference in vehicle capabilities.
Juston demonstrates that you can get pretty far on 33's!
Knowing people that live in Farmington they all call it Choke Cherry. Been there before and found much of it to be more than I was willing to take on but I had a good time. Glad Y'all enjoyed it, looks like your FJ is a successful build you have to be loving that. If I had a buggy that would be the ticket.
There's something for everyone here for sure.
@@offroadhub.official farmington .nm. pretty well the first vids i watched 6 yrs ago.. must be a crik there , a hilux with big tires pretty well went vertical up the dirt wall, .totally amazed me.. justin needs help,, like 37,s. im sure you could do that in a w/end, now you know what to do. im still stuk with 35,s. thats big for aus... wimpy country. AAAA.+..
@@harrywalker5836 Juston is not going to 37's. However, we are getting a front locker, and re-gear for 35's (with the option to go 37"). We'll see!😁
@@justonpolson7690 its a hard call. bigger you go, the bigger the obsticles.. 35s, 4" lift. lockers. solid axles, jeep,d44rs. ?. would be enough. ive seen so many fj,s & 2 door jeeps roll. there too short, square. i have a s/duty, 3" lift 35,s. 6 cyl,4.2tdi. 700nm.. mwm. you never got them. also have an 82 bronc sas, 35,s lockers, 75 highboy, cut to swb, 5sp 4w disc. 351c. 62 f1 4x4, 352 fe.. 73 340 r/t chall.. trucks cost me 3k each, before i fixed them, s/duty, 25k. chall 17k. 15 yrs ago..theres not much here in aus like you have there for 4x4ing. mainly sand, mud. if you watch 4wd 24/7. its all for the camera. bs.. we dont do that.. they have sponsers.. im in a registered 4x4 club.. with 3 trainers. dtu.. driver training union.. disbanded cos they couldnt decide what was best few yrs back.. keep it up, roof up, that is.. our laws here are same for car as 4x4. 2" lift, 3/4" tires.. unless engineered.. 2.5k..everytime..sucks.. wheel travel is your best friend.. funny aus vid,,watch 4x4 inskip beach..
@harrywalker we aren't going to roll! We're not building a crawler, just a solid all around off road capable rig! From what I've witnessed so far the bigger you go the bigger the problems (weak points) are discovered!! We don't like to break!😆
Amazing crawling!
6:40 awesome climb with 42's. The last obstacle on Lower Rim was pretty cool from the viewer's angle, too.
Good stuff out there! I'll want a roll cage before I try anything much bigger! 😄
Amazing just amazing...
Some great climbing or crawling there! At one point I was saying, roll cage roll cage. Glad it is simply a fluid issue for Justin. Fun gutsy stuff the two of you are taking on under that beautiful sky. Another great one Ken!
Roll cage one of these days! 😄👍
It'll be the first thing he does the day after he rolls it :D
What an awesome area! That last obstacle was badass 👌
Hello KEN .l live in Farmington chock Cherry canyon or the (GLADE ) as it called is where some of the first rock crawling competition were held in the beginning of rock crawling.lots of vertical climbs..hope you had fun ..
It was awesome!
I love how slow your rig crawls! Awesome video. We lived for 3 years in Farmington but I didn’t have a good enough rig to do any of this. I just had a stock Tacoma at the time. Makes me want to go back down there and wheel
It's a really great area!

Awesome low gearing... amazing crawling video !
Thank you! The Atlas really works great!
buy a gallon of Cyanoacrylate glue (suerpglue) pour some in an airtight spray bottle, you can get em, they have a rubber cap over the spray tip like a brake cylinder bleeder, have it with you, it really helps for those super tight spots and may be the difference between walking out and driving out, spray it on, hit it with accelerator.. go
JEEP and Bronco KILLER!!!!
No vehicles were harmed in the making of this video 😄
SSSSSSSaaaaaammoooooooooooooooooooth!
I don’t live far from Farmington and I had never heard of this area 😂 cool stuff!
Go check it out sometime! 😄
Looks like a nice area.
Very fun! 👍
Super beautiful, very windy!
Great video with great camera angles! He’s almost as good as me! 😂 I noticed your tires are aired up a bit more…
I should have tshirts to give to my impromptu camera people! 😄 I think I've found the right air pressure 👍
@@offroadhub.official I want one on a white long sleeve shirt! Where do I buy?
There used to be large national competitions In Choke Cherry every summer
Interesting!
I love to see, mostly stock, toyotas doing the hard lines. Meanwhile I actually am restoring an 84 pickup. It doesn't feel right choosing smaller tires, but that's where I am.
Mostly stock vehicles can be very capable!
Nice terrain! Will have to check it out. Looks like Juston was having some #automaticlife issues....
😆🔥 #automaticlife
Def was an issue, but only minor. Thanks to Off Again Auto & 4x4!
I like the new tail lights. BTW, random question, have you ever been to the Tierra del Sol events around Truckhaven, CA? It's truly insane. I live in San Diego and have only been to it once. It was fun to check it out that one time. 1000s of Jeeps, many, many more hardcore vehicles than that.
I haven't been there, but I'll add it to the list if places do visit! Thank you!
Have you ever tried using BFG all-terrain tires?
I have. I had 34" BFG Ko2's for a little while, and I really liked them. BFG doesn't make any 42" all terrains.
Can you give us an update on Juston's transmission problem. Thanks
It was just slightly low on fluid. 👍
You mean too tell me nether of you can check transmission fluid???
I didn't mean to tell you that. 😆
Where did you get your graphics
On the vehicle? From a local vehicle wrap place here in Eastern Idaho.
@@offroadhub.official What's the name of the company
@@raymondserafin9396 Seger Built Signs... Great guys!
lamest tail lamps ever ever seen on a 4X ... sticking out like that? ignorant it should have like 3 circular at the very back recessed, then something recessed on the side, or flushed.. not sticking out like that, then they know they ill get broke a lot so they wants like $348 a side...
