Marloes
Bonjour,
Today's video is just a random update on what I've been up to the past couple of weeks. We're busy with our kitchen building works, getting things ready for spring and I'm going on a trip to film two houses next week so all of that's coming up in the coming weeks and months. In today's video I'm taking you brocante shopping in Nolay, house hunting with my friends in the south of Burgundy and into our garden where we're pruning trees and hedges and where spring has sprung!
See you again next week!

  • I could watch your videos for hours. Beautiful scenery, lovely towns and shops and of course your home and gardens ❤. The cat may have picked you for a reason. We already have 4 cats but my son feeds and cares for several feral cats who don’t want to live inside but like this area. He helps catch them, gets them spayed then builds small hidden shelters for each one. Works out well🥰

  • Lovely video on living in the French countryside. I envy multi-liguistic capabilities common in Europe. The 🇺🇸 was very isolated for generations and language was limited to english. As an after war baby boomer I lived it and had no interest in languages. My grandfather spoke french , german and english...being Alsatian. My mom learned none of it. Now we play catch up. Love the store escapades! Out yard touch up, yesterday in 50's...Wisconsin 🖐

  • Goodness! I’ve loved this “getaway visit” for the beauty of Spring with its promise of tomorrow after a hard Winter, the preciousness of new life bursting forth (for ALL Life is a gift), the countryside, lovely flowers, stone homesteads, sweet shops, travel close by, getting together with old friends, house shopping, soothing voices, calmness of the destination, lack of traffic & hustle and bustle, etc. And, then came the “gut punch.” Disappointing! 😢

    • She was AGAINST abortion and her process of legalizing it meant she put so much in place to prevent women from making the decision (because even though it wasn’t legal before many women traveled to other counties to have it done!) and putting support systems in place for mothers so they knew they would get help if they kept the baby, creating / imposing a chat with a doctor that would also put women on birth control to prevent this from happening again. She was a remarkable lady and it’s incredible what she has achieved, especially since she was AGAINST abortion, like you seem to be. She made sure women (and men!) were more responsible with birth control and were highly discouraged getting an abortion and she was especially clear on making sure it was not seen as an easy way out after irresponsible sexual relationships. She went very far in what she imposed and it was ground breaking. She wanted to help those women that got pregnant after rape or incest (those numbers apparently were shockingly high at the time), as before this law, a woman that would get an abortion in this case would be charged with murder, even though she was a victim of rape. Educate yourself before you judge. You have not heard what I said and I think you don’t have a clue what this all was about. Maybe in your country abortion is viewed as an easy solution after sleeping around in which case I understand one would be against it.

    • Thank you for your explanation of the contents of the book. . My apologies for being offensive to you. Sometimes in text, words or thoughts don’t come out as expected. As I tried to mention in my first text, I was simply saying how much I’ve enjoyed your channel because it takes me to a place far, far away (a dreamland) from the everyday grind, political opinions and games people play in my country. Yes, in my country there is much upheaval over the issue you have spoken about. People are on polar opposites of the scales about the Gift of Life & the taking of such a Life, rape or no rape, taking Life before birth or after birth. (Yes, some are trying to legalize taking the Life of a baby after it is born.) There are those who are so wicked, evil, vile, & demon-possessed that they harvest the organs of babies before birth or after birth for monetary gain, sacrificing the Gift of Life. It is an ugly reality. Since I’ve never really heard you mention your opinion on such things, I was uncomfortable when you made mention of it and it surprisingly took me out of the happy place I find myself in when I watch your beautiful channel. I meant no disrespect to you or your opinion. And, no I am not the Judge of said things. Again, my apologies for offending you.

      @ginamansfield4376@ginamansfield4376Ай бұрын
    • Thank you for your reply and for explaining. That helps. And I fully understand that me talking about this took you out of the vibe of the video. I hadn’t really looked at it that way. I am shocked to hear about some people’s opinions in your country. So yes, let’s keep the craziness of this world out of the videos. That has always been my intention by the way (and then some criticize I don’t address world issues and pretend everything is beautiful 😮. My intention with this channel is to show people the beauty of life and this world, because we can spend our days looking at all the evil (much of it we can’t change anyway) or we can decide to want to see the beauty, love, the kindness in people etc. It’s just a choice.

      @FrenchCountryLife@FrenchCountryLifeАй бұрын
    • Thank you for understanding. Yes, “took me out of the vibe of the video.” Yes, please keep the craziness of this world out of your beautiful videos. For we won’t pretend everything is beautiful, because it isn’t, but for a multitude of moments we can choose to see the beauty of this world as it was intended to be seen. And, we can see the people, places, and things as you have meant us to see them. And, enjoy those multitude of moments thru your eyes as we appreciate you & your charming channel!

    • That is very sad indeed. I don’t recall having shared any personal opinion on this topic, just my admiration of a woman and her life. I will say this: Simone Veil was AGAINST abortion and her process of legalizing it meant she put so much in place to prevent women from making the decision (because even though it wasn’t legal before many women traveled to other counties to have it done or had it done in dangerous ways and sometimes they got severely injured) and putting support systems in place for mothers so they knew they would get help if they kept the baby, creating / imposing a chat with a doctor that would also put women on birth control to prevent this from happening again. She was a remarkable lady and it’s incredible what she has achieved, especially since she was AGAINST abortion, like you seem to be.
