I was able to stay home and raise 3 of my 4 children and it was the most precious time of my life. I cherish the memories. I hope you are as blessed, time moves so quickly. When things are hard I remember this saying: the barn has burnt down, but now I can see the moon. For me, a reminder of gratitude for the little things as life changes. ✨Always love your content. ✨

I love the way Matthew spends so much time out in nature using his imagination, building dams from twigs etc. Children in the UK are permanently glued to the electronic screens and never seem to play outdoors anymore. 😢 It really stifles their creativity.

I grew up in France from age 5 to 16, parents are british so we had to move but your videos capture everything that is beautiful about our culture and country ❤ My partner is now hooked and we are planning to move to France to raise our baby son! Thanks to your videos, he accepted my request 😅 x
If you can, do it. It comes with lots of problems but it's worth it. It's the healthy way to raise your child. Also go to French Alps- magical for children.

I gave up a career to spend more time with my daughters when they were born. They just turned 19 and we have wonderful memories together. We have great relationships and that is worth any price to me. You won’t regret the time you spend with your son, you will cherish it. Best wishes to you.

I am definitely living in the South of France near Menton when I watch your videos. They give us all such an intimate close look at the French Reviera as if we were there..

Quiting a job isn't a death sentence. Don't worry too much, you'll find the right balance. We are currently redoing our roof in Grasse. We are using the company EMC in Monaco, recommended by an architect friend. They are doing an amazing job. Even if the company is based in Monaco, they gave us the same quote as local roofers.

My regret in life is working as a teacher for 23 years and my time went more to other people’s children and grandchildren…not my own son and daughter….yes I made a difference for others, but was tired, stressed and depleted for my own children ❤️🙏

Aselya, bad timing. As the owner of a house with a flat roof, I feel the worry you have. Here, we coat the flat roofs with a rubber paint. It takes layer upon layer to maintain it. So every five years, i hire an inspector and usually it turns into power washing and recoating with Tucson Rubberized Coating. It is a great feeling to feel protected from overhead. I hope you get that feeling back soon. I’m glad Matthew has you in his life more now. Sorry you missed the dream of the retirement funds. There was security of a different sort in that. But everything will be ok. You have the love of a good man and are adored by your son. And you are adored by your growing fans watching the things you share from a beautiful place most of us dream of living in.

Please take some advice from an old retired American woman who also raised the son. I loved my work, but the perfect match for me was always part-time work where I could be there for my son and most of the time I was with the exception of a few emergencies at work but having that experience of being a mother and being able to do all of the things that I wanted to do for my family was really important to me and gave me great happiness. I am so sorry about your roof, but I love your last line. Everything will be all right, and when things go wrong, it’s an opportunity for things to change and surprises and maybe even be better. You are a joy in the world.

This video showed up on my feed from nowhere, and I enjoyed it so much. Reminds me of my childhood in a way (I am 58 and live in South Africa). It is so beautiful - I was in Nice and visited Monaco in 2017 and think this is a peace of heaven on earth. Unfortunately I broke my foot just a few days before the trip and was limited in where I could go. This just reaminds me that I want to go back there again. Oh Aselya, I am an RN and did not work for 14 years when my sons were little. They are adults now with their own children, and I am so happy I made that decision. We had some difficult financial times, and we lived on a tight budget, but in the end, all was well. Congratulations! You, Chris and Matthew are in my prayers. How I enjoy your beautiful videos. I was SO happy to her you quit your full time job in Risk Management. I worked the same department and it was SO stressful. Now you and Matt will get to spend precious time together!! It’s worth everything to be there for your kids when they are young. I was sad to hear about the roof damage and pray you will find the best contractor to fix it and your living room walls this summer. Trust and believe you will have all the funds needed to repair. You will not regret one moment of being a full time, fulfilled with her life woman, who is also a wife and mother 🥰 I never have looked back over the last 43 years and thought I am less a woman because I stayed home. I consider it a blessing everyday, even now that my children have their own families. Each day begins and ends with gratitude, even in those hard days…and there have been many of those. But God has never failed to provide in any area, especially in my emotional contentment.
I quite my ‘office job’ after 28 years, and took an early small pension. I knew it would be the one of the best or the worse decisions I would make - It was one of the best. I now have the freedom to do whatever I like, Im more careful about money, but I manage. Usually you have either time or money, not both. Time is precious, and its here to be enjoyed and not rushed all the time.
My two sons are grown and married. I worked full time every day. I missed so much in each of their lives. So, in my opinion you are doing the best thing. I don't think you will ever be sorry you did. They grow so fast. So don't miss any more days. Eventually the roof will get fixed and other things you want or need in life will happen maybe a little later than you wanted. But all those moments you will have and remember with Matt will always be there in your mind and heart.
