Dream kept it private just like quackity did. He speak up because of the amount of threats and doxxing his family is receiving. With quackity showing no interest in speaking up to his own fans doxxing dream, dream has to make the announcement on his own. As far as ive known dream, no matter the circumstances he always jokes about every single drama there is, even the cheating speedrun one. I saw not even one joke in that post of his, im guessing that the fans are getting too hostile for his liking. Both smp can co exist and at the end of the day both are different so i dont get the drama AT ALL.

I don’t watch Dream or Quackity anymore so I don’t care about how they feel but I will say that having a bilingual/multilingual server makes so much more sense coming from Quackity. Not that Dream can’t do it bc he doesn’t speak other languages but Quackity literally makes bilingual content & has had the issue of translating. As a person who speaks both English & Spanish, I’d much rather support the creator whose actually bilingual & has experienced the hardships of not being able to communicate with someone bc of a language barrier.
If you are still into minecraft tho I would still recommend qsmp, you can choose from many ccs pov. It's honestly really sweet, everyone is trying hard to communicate and being supportive of each other :D
Honestly id prefer if dream kept on with his project cuz unlike quackity dream actually was planning to invite creators that arent ONLY IN AMERICA, cuz all quackity invited are ppl from south and north America which sucks for people who arent even from there feeling left out and the only language that arent American is French which is only one. Where dream actually had plan to like invite so many countries from the world in his video.

this seems like yet another situation that should have been handled privately rather than aired out to millions of people in an essay format
I guess the issue is that it was attempted to be handled privately for weeks to no avail. this, to me, felt like a message-in-a-bottle thing to get quackity's attention and frankly I can't fault him for that. I know quackity doesn't have a rep of being receptive or making statements but I find it cold to see somebody being attacked en masse largely by your fans and refuse to give them anything that could help alleviate it, at the very least just saying that you don't condone people being cruel on your behalf

@@crinklecutfries8313 It is a known fact that harassing is a bad thing to do, it is a known fact that Quackity has never indulged or encouraged harassment towards individuals of any kind, especially not in this Dream created fight, and it's not like he is the police or even a part of the twitter mod team so he has the tools to stop them. Dream talking hasn't stopped his fandom from attacking the QSMP or its members either (or any of the other people he has ever associated with in his past, it's always the same with him), quite the opposite. Yet people don't care. What else do you want when Quackity has stayed out of all the trouble from day one doing his own thing? Do you want him to shed more light into the drama and escalate it even further no matter what he says or does? People shouldn't be coerced in order to talk about an issue that they neither started, nor encouraged, nor feel comfortable talking about. You can't drag him into the drama that he himself has stayed away from. A drama that once again, he never encouraged.
@@DobleD1997I understand where you are coming from to an extent, but I want to note that dream has been supportive of the qsmp since day one saying he was “excited to see quackity’s server”, later saying “without quackity, I don’t think [USMP] would have happened.” on april 10th, he said “I hate seeing people minimize what Q has done in the gaming space, as even if other people try and build bridges, he broke down the wall to make it possible for them to be built.” in the thread itself he said, “I will continue to say that I have the upmost respect for Quackity as a creative mind, a hard worker, and a person, and don’t want anyone trying to take things I do and compare them to his work to put him down or to pit us against each other,” as well as “I don’t support any hate towards anyone, any form of doxing, threats, harassment, racism, is unacceptable and you’re not welcome in our community if you think otherwise” ultimately this drama is ridiculous and cruel and I don’t know why we can’t just have our cake and eat it to. there will be competition between the servers, but dream has already said that he’s working on remedying that (“The United SMP concept will be changed so that it’s again different enough from the QSMP to not compete with it”). It’s ridiculous to act like USMP is bad because it’s dream or QSMP is bad because it’s quackity - these are incredibly impressive advancements in gaming and they will open young audiences up to a multitude of new cultures and experiences. I don’t think that any one person is at fault except those who are engaging in harassment and doxxing and even threats of physical harm but I wish there would be any form of acknowledgment by quackity as I’ve witnessed other creators scold their fans and have drama die down as a result of that, the example that comes to mind is wilbur soot. apologies for the tangent at the end

It's not imaginary. And, what more is he supposed to say about the allegations? He already addressed it in a twitlonger and said what he needed to say, and pursued legal action. If you somehow don't know how court works, you're not supposed to speak about the case publicly until it's over. So like.. he kinda can't speak on it more for a while.

Viewers nowadays are far to interested in creators personal lives, when that’s almost never the point of their content. It’s gone from watching a KZheadd through the metaphorical window to smashing through the window and making constant eye contact with the creator when their 2 ft away from them.
Ikr people nowadays treat youtubers and streamers like actors used to be and maybe still are, but idk.

Dream needs to get a PR team or something because holy shit is he the most self-destructive person ever when it comes to responding to drama. Like I get that it feels bad to have a friend ignore your attempts to reach out, but that is a sign that you're not as close to that person as you think you are and that you should take the hint and back off. The fact that he just kept sending Quackity more and more messages and even went to Quackity's friends to try and force him to respond when he clearly didn't want to is insane. And then completely airing out this private situation on Twitter??? Like holy shit, any drama about this situation would've died out if he hadn't poured gasoline on it. Not to mention how unhealthy it is to go full nuclear when someone doesn't want to talk to you.

But the doxxing and threats cant be ignored, now that he showed his face it can be easier to find where tf he lives. I find this so hilarious. Dream turned it into a drama by addressing it the way he did. It could have just been left alone and most people wouldn't have cared because honestly the amount of people who actually use Twitter on a regular basis is tiny compared to the people who use KZhead

Okay, I’m a little late to all this, but I wanted to add a bit more information that wasn’t in the video. 1. Qsmp was always supposed to be multilingual, it just started with Spanish and English so that no one was too overwhelmed with mass amounts of people right off the bat. As of writing this comment, Portuguese and French speaking creators have joined the server. 2. Quackity’s smp actually has story. The bilingual concept (and inclusion of content creators I already enjoyed) are what initially drew me to the server but the personality and plot is what kept me watching. 3. It’s clear that Quackity is very passionate about his project, putting in a lot of effort to keep people invested. He’s spoken about wanting to break down language barriers for a long time and it’s really cool seeing it happen real time, Even before he added the translator, everyone was making an effort to communicate, live translation just being a tool to make it a bit easier "If people want to communicate they will."

ngl tho, its pretty unprofessional. Dream pretty much said he wanted to clear things up early. Just a lot of unneccesary drama that could have been avoided with a phone call or some texts. Quackity's continued lack of a response does further cemment the unprofessionalism in my mind especially since there doesn't 'seem to be' a good reason for ignoring Dream. That being said, I'm by no means a Dream fan, just the two cents from someone who would otherwise not give two shits.

literally!!! Quackity refuses to be apart of any drama and Dream clearly didn’t get the hint. You can’t force people to talk to you, no one is entitled to the undivided attention of others. That’s not unprofessional at all, and Dream isn’t the one paying his bills so why would Q jump at his call. What’s unprofessional is publicly blasting him in a dang thesis because he decided he didn’t want to speak to him.
The thing is that quackity literally said that there will be more languages in the near future, just that he wanted to start with the two languages he knew, which I think was the best choice because it starts with a small group and then expands and won’t get overwhelming. And I think ludwig shouldn’t have said that quackity is doing the same languages as dreams because that’s not true, quackity is doing more then 6 while dream is only doing 6 languages.

It’s cool like MCU teaser first get both English and Spanish community together to see each other streamer them slowly being in Brazil and have the English see the Brazil streamers as Brazil go watch Spanish and English streamer to gain a bit more people to follow them then wait 2-3 month to bring in possibly Korea,Africa,French streamer for a big event like qsmp has a story and event happening so quackery has to find a time to bring them to be part of the story

Im Mexican and im currently very into QSMP, even though i have never watched anything Minecraft related before in my life. The reason I think something like the QSMP works really well with Quackity is like he is able to genuinely connect with his audiences despite the language barriers, he has always expressed interest to uniting his communities and you can genuinely see his excitement with this new project. I started watching the QSMP mainly because tons of my favorite spanish speaking content creators were going to be part of it but I started quickly watching the english speaking streamers too, because everyone is so willing to TRY to communicate with us. I think that’s what makes me happy. Even if people dont know the language they try to communicate to their audiences. I dont like Dream and how he is dealing his tantrum. Quackity is doing his own thing and at this point is obvious he doesn’t want to be associated with Dream.
Yeah that's the thing - if you just take away the servers general similarity in ideas and anything else that makes them similar, Quackity's feels like more of a passion-filled project, coming from his own experience of being bilingual and trying to connect his communities, while Dream's feels like its kinda just... there lol (not taking away from him since he probably did coincidentally have the same idea, but Mr. Q feels like he executes it better)

Of course, coincidences can happen, but that's so weird, especially the way he reacted by posting a ten-page essay justifying himself to literally no one
In the original USMP video, it seemed extremely rushed imo. It looked like it was thrown together in about a month MAX. Quackity has been talking about QSMP for ages (about a year ago) and the amount of work and effort in not only the actual SMP but the trailers and events as well. Quackity doesn't care about drama that he is in, but Dream always cares too much. Also, the fact that Dream says he announced USMP before QSMP is just a blatant lie. Like I said, QSMP has been talked about by Quackity for at least a year, yet Dream has never mentioned USMP but writes entire essays about this "drama" that doesn't even exist

The thing is that Quackity has always been a professional shithouser. He is a memelord. If you followed him before his minecraft stint, he regularly used his viewership to stir up shit on various platforms through “raiding”. (Icl, pretty entertaining shit, especially when the administrators don’t know what to do). The fact it took him THIS long to get into any major controversies with other creators is shocking to me. He doesn’t care, and he never has cared, and he never will care what somebody thinks about him online. I actually quite like Quackity for this very reason

Man yeah, so many people not being aware of Quackity's good old golden days has me baffled. All the Habbo hotel raids, club penguin shenanigans, and the later hilarious Discord/Minecraft got talent stuff before he transitioned into this was awesome. Though I am not really interested in his recent Minecraft stuff, he thoroughly entertained me for many of my teen years.

Dream posted proof that he had been working on the USMP before the QSMP was announced. And also, when the QSMP was announced, he made a tweet basically saying "Ooh Quackity's smp looks cool, look forward to it. Btw I'm making something similar, just letting you guys know so people don't think there was any copying." So yeah, neither of them copied the other, they just happened to have a very similar idea that was getting announced at similar times under unfortunate circumstances.

It’s just sad. Seeing quackity ignore him just makes me believe he knows how toxic and childish and immature dream is. And truly, the best way to deal with tantrum throwing babies like dream is to ignore them and let them cry their eyes out till they shut up.
The biggest difference is that one server is private, modded, and has it's own incomplete curated story and the other server is public, vanilla, and doesn't have a predetermined line of events.

I recall Quackity already mentioning this idea since 2022 because he has been doing pure Spanish streams with his Spanish-speaking friends. As for Dream... no idea when and why he curated the idea as well.
Going by his own words, Dream "came up" with the idea at the end of the Squidcraft 2 event that was orginized by the Spanish speaking community in which he was invited. The ending of the event happened in the first days of March, 2023, so a little over a month.

i know some people might don't know about this bc the language barrier, but in the very first days of QSMP some of the spanish speakers ccs were talking about that there would be a a possibility of adding ccs that speaks Portuguese. I'm pretty sure Quackity told them about his future plans in the server
idk if it matters, but there's a tiny bit more context: about a month or two before either server launched, both Quackity and Dream along with their friends participated in the Squidcraft event which was Spanish-hosted but open to English-speaking creators. The event was super fun and most creators involved decided they wanted to do more with other language communities. This is probably where Dream got the idea for USMP (Quackity was working on QSMP on the DL before this)

To be dairy the whole 'drama' happend or started because fans of both pointed out that dream copied quackity. When the accused is actully baseless, and dreams stans are just to fucked and caused this.. though his twitlonger or whatever he did to talk about it was bad at facevaule. It all started because fans said one copied the other, when it's common for friends to have similar ideas in the back of their heads and work on it without saying anything.

I feel like dreams idea might fail, the content creators involved will only play for a few weeks if it's just vanilla Minecraft. What made the original dream smp good in my opinion was Wilburs story, Jschlatt's notoriety and the real only reason I even watched the smp, Tecnoblade. I really enjoy Technoblade's sense of humor, but his character on the smp was very well written. As for the multilingual server I feel like it will be hard to write a story which includes so many different personalities each with their unique improv skills.
I think Dream implied that there will be events and competitions in USMP that would likely encourage people to interact. But aside from that, not everyone enjoys modded (I don't really enjoy watching modded SMP's myself) and there's a lot of servers that exists with their own gimmicks that that are still at it's core vanilla like Hermitcraft, Lifesteal, Empires, etc
I think they kinda have different goal for their SMPs. Quackity likes to do roleplay but Dream just wants a server where he can mess around with his friends. I don't think Dream really wants to create a dsmp 2.0.
Oh I see events sound great, there will actually be some sort of goals(content) for the streamers. As in for playing with his friends that's also completely understandable, better to let everyone have fun than do forced roleplay.
tbh Dream just doesn't possess the ability to write a whole story for all the content creators involved and also balance their scenes, while people like Quackity and Wilbur or even Karl do. And seems that he does realize that, so I don't think that's what he's aiming at.
Hermitvraft is incredibly popular and is “just” friends playing on a server. They’re a bit better at the game than any DreamSMP members tho. Their playing style is at least a bit more developed - and has greatly shaped the way most youtubers play minecraft.

Completely agree, i haven't really been in the Minecraft youtube space but this situation grabbed even my attention. and im going to be frank, i dont care what you do in a video game; at the end of the day, games were made for people to have fun and non of this shit matters. It a game; and anyone who take a game grudge and turns it into a real world grudge is to blame.

i think 2 other things that make a huge difference is also that q has been working on his since 2021, whereas dream came up with the idea earlier this year and that the qsmp is actually up and running and now has creators from 3 main language groups on it, whereas the usmp hasnt even had a list of creators who are partaking, much less is close to actually starting edit: i think another important thing to mention is that on march 27th quackity said he would be inviting other creators of other languages to the server, which was before dream introduced his

@@pissum420 yep ! that’s one of the 3 main languages spoken on the qsmp (i said there were 3) but there are also streamers who speak more than one language (like wilbur speaks some dutch for example) but not primarily

I wouldnt blame Quackity if he just didnt want to be involved with Dream in general. Dude brings drama where he goes especially since he handles these dramas terribly. I also feel like dream knows he gets much more attention when hes involved in something. Why else would bro write a fucking essay on this shit.
becasue he was getting stalkers and death threats and had to get the police involved. quackity made no attempt at diffusing the situation and dream probably felt he had no choice but to try and diffuse it to hopefully calm things down or prevent it from getting worse. I'm not saying dream is a saint either as he could have sent a smaller tweet or kept it private, but I suppose he tried to but quackity didn't respond

Tommy and philza were asked back then when the 2nd dreamSMP was going to start and they said they kept trying to contact dream to ask him but dream never answered him, so they decided they wanted to join one that was coming up, the QSMP, and all of the sudden dreams comes saying quackity is the bad guy which is so weird after he didn’t answer to other people asking him for dreamSMP 2
Philza decided not to join DSMP S2 because he didn't want to ignore Technoblade, so that wasn't his reason. But Tommy, Tubbo, and Puffy were fully prepared to join DSMP S2.

@@superruffle2006 Yeah, that wasn’t cool. Ideally, Dream would’ve told them he wanted a break, then plan a check-in later where everyone could decide if they still wanted to do S2, or move on. Anything-just communicate.

The statement about how creators have personal lives made me think back to when there was "drama" surrounding the vanoss crew because some of the members weren't playing with others, and people assumed there was beef when in reality is was purely because they liked playing different games
Ngl i was One of them, i had a shitty mentality because my friends would allways play the same games, guess i thought evryone would do the same, thankfully i think im a bit smarter now lmao at least i think before typing

When I saw all those paragraphs from Dream I kind of groaned, but If people were ramping up IRL threats because of this slight misunderstanding (not even drama), I totally get that he felt that he should just put all his thoughts Into some tweets so people could calm the hell down about absolutely nothing.

While the language thing is the same I will say that qsmp feels pretty unique. At the start it has lots of animations and pre built lore. I think they both have their purpose (with different players) and I don’t think it’s that big of a deal as some of the fans are making it
The amount of drama in the mcyt fandom was so exhausting. People freaking out over the slightest of issues. I think it pushed a lot of the more casual viewers away

Yeah this is why I watch Hermitcraft or Empires. They have just as much or more talent than the DSMP does, and they manage to do it without constant drama or cheated speedruns or whatever.
I wouldn't say that the other servers have less talent, but BY GOD, is is so much more peaceful in the Hermitcraft and Empires fandoms, I've had a few nice chill DSMP fandom experiences but i like how in the other servers its just the regular, a nice break
