  • I had crocodile and alligator grilled meat and they both a bit chewy but tasted like chicken. They have gator nuggets at the US State Fair in Minnesota every year!

  • For those who wondering what crocodile meat tastes like, I would say from my experience it tastes somewhere between chicken and fish, more towards chicken. The smell is less distinct than fish but more aromatic than chicken. Crocodile, even though it is a carnivorous animal it is still closely related to birds. This explains why they taste similar to chicken, and because they spend a lot of their time in water they develop muscle structures that are similar to fish. However, crocodile meat does contain less fat and less cholesterols and less calories than chicken per 100 grams of meat, making it a healthier alternative to chicken (and definitely healthier than pork) for people looking to loose some weight.
