  • Looking back on this after watching the Rankin Bass reviews with Worthikids, it's truly a wonder how hard it must have been to follow the animation principle that irked him the most with the modern homages to this art style: The top mouth should never move. In fact, it should be in this odd perma-smile that can be interpreted into a variety of mouth shapes. It's the limits that make the style, and Worthikids nail it.

    • Yeah, I can't believe it's not stop motion. On another note, I kinda dislike that modern stop motion looks 100% CGI most of the time. What's the point? I want rough animation, dang it.

      @tirlio@tirlio3 жыл бұрын
    • @@tirlio I mean, you're allowed to have that opinion, but like, I can't think of any modern stop motion that goes for that look other than LAIKA (who granted are behind most stop motion films these days, because there just aren't a lot of them). I mean most other modern SM productions embrace the handcrafted feel of the medium, just look at Isle of Dogs, the SM scenes of the Little Prince, and My Life as a Zucchini. Besides I would argue that even if the films have a polished look and merge CG with practical effects, you can still tell that it's hand made. It just has this realness to it that's impossible to achieve with CG (unless you're worthikids apparently)

  • Worthikids might literally be the most talented yet diverse animator on KZhead, and there are tones of great animators here

    • He is like the aphex twin of animation Each of his pieces are different yet they all feel like they were made by him

    • Agree but what makes him stand out (just like aphex twin honestly) is his diverse rang of medias and how will he managed to perfect them

  • I can’t believe how you perfectly imitated the super analog and imperfect aesthetic of Rakan Bass in a 100% digital format. Blender is mind blowing

  • I can't believe this is in Blender. When I first watched this, I felt like this was actually stop motion animation. This looks so much like actual figures, its awesome.

  • It’s crazy how even though this is an entirely different medium than you usually do it is still immediately obvious that it’s your style by looking at the faces

    • I could be wrong but I think I heard this from a video worthi made? That his 2D animation is basically rotoscoped 3D models they made on blender

    • Worthi has been using Blender in videos for years though. Hell, BigTop Burger was entirely Blender.

    • actually, nope, this is the same medium he's been using for like almost all of his shit, he's just so SKILLED with it you can't tell it's 3D CGI rather than Puppets

    • @@Necro_Hexual 4 seasons of 3 unique shows and a movie to cap off each, at least. But he’d have to teach whole teams of people how to animate like him and idk if that’s possible

  • This is way too incredible and I can't believe it's not real stop motion. I love the characters and the atmosphere is perfect. I'd watch several seasons of this. This is what KZhead should be for.
