This is even funnier when you realise from the video that the King will likely ignore you at every turn and repeatedly die, so you can't even be effective as the owl.

I know this comment is a year old, but it reminded me of when I played 2064: Read Only Memories, and there were a few funny death dialogs and stuff in that game the one I remember the most is (spoilers ahead by the way) When I you have to make a choice between saving this huge AI thing or destroying it, you can just poor rotten milk on it, and what makes it even funnier is this carton of rotten milk has been in your inventory the entire game from when you picked it up in the beginning. It’s a great game I definitely recommend it.

The fact that the answer to the puzzle was a random item in your inventory that you could barely make an connection to the current situation truly ties in the whole point-and-click adventure game theme.
Wolfadius | I always play adventure games with a certain mindset I learned from the Stickmin Collection: the most absolutely batshit insane/braindead option is _probably_ the right one.
You just have to ask what he likes to do and he'll tell you about his pet bees
You can see the almost impossible to see bees nests the whole time though!
@@yfnratchet At least in Henry Stickmin collection, the options are clearly presented to you, so getting things wrong is more of an amusing happenstance than any reasonable source of frustration. A lot of point and click adventure games don't give you your options so clearly, so it's a lot easier to get stuck having no idea what you're supposed to do.

You see, now I wish I could make a game where everything solves everything in normal difficulty. Expert chooses each solution randomly, so every playthrough will have different moon logic.

Cedric the Owl was Our Hero's animal companion, and also very clearly a Sierra developer putting on an extremely stupid voice. he did precisely jack and shit for you the whole game, aside from having the voice clip "NO GRAHAM DON'T" go off as part of several deaths. look up the retsupurae of king's quest five, it is amazing, this series defined PC gaming in the early 90s and from this you can determine PC games were bad

Funny enough, there is an old Holy Grail point and click. Played it on a Mac computer back in 1999, and have never been able to find it again. Had minigames like Tetris with the corpses on the dead cart, combat scenario with Black Knight, and all sorts of funny stuff. Pains me I have never found another copy so I could finally finish it.

I love how it not only uses moon logic (with unexpected bees), but also dismisses usual everyday logic as well! "You'd think that as a trader I'd like jewels, BUT....". On the other hand, what were designers to do? Since parser and "seek the correct phrase" were a gone thing, there would be no difficulty at all if everything went by logical logic.There's a reason for "interactive movie" genre after all - it's kinda like biting the bullet and accepting that illogical puzzles make no sense and logical ones are not much of a puzzle.

Also a great gag on point and click puzzles. The answer to give him the honey was always there, because you could see the bee hives in the background. But they’re very easy to miss from the background and makes the honey answer seem very arbitrary while the jewels item seems like the right answer
