Sleep walking people are freaky. My son sleep walks, he's usually looking for things, like his pillows which are on his bed. Or his sister... he doesn't have a sister. Or the worse of all, he's looking for the guy that was sleeping beside him, he told me one minute he's there and the next he's gone. That actually made my hair stand up and check the doors and windows. He talks to me in his sleep but remembers absolutely nothing

Sleepwalking is scary as hell, my sister did it a few times. Just imagine encountering an 'empty' person at night. It's no wonder there are many stories about possesions and such. Interesting thing is that the cause of sleepwalking is still unknown. There are only a few unproven hipotheses.

That cougar wasn't trying to attack him, just scare him away. The movements she made were more of a "please, piss off". If she wanted to attack, then she would have gone onto a lower posture and start running towards the guy.

As long as you keep facing a cat and maintain eye contact, you're essentially standing your ground. If he didn't back away, it'd be perceived as intruding instead of just holding his ground, and then the cougar would have no other choice but to attack.

Sleepwalkers tend to be in la-la land and "not with it" at all. The mom handled it well, takes a tap on the shoulder or some prodding to snap them out. Usually it's the person sleep walking that's at risk of injury, because of walking into something or falling. Then of course some people become much more prone to it with certain medications, which also makes figuring out the condition more fun. Admittedly it does look creepy due to the abnormal state of it.

My cousin used to sleepwalk and "sleeptalk" when she was a kid, it freaked me out. We usually spent summer together, in my grandparents' old house in the countryside. We shared a room and once I was reading late at night and saw her stand next to her bed and mumble something about a girl named Amanda, asking who she was. By daylight it sounds amusing but at night it was kinda scary seeing her standing like that at talking to nobody. I remember thinking "if she starts to walk I'm gonna scream". She went back to bed and it took me a looong time to fall asleep!

Hitting is pointless. What actually helps is making a hole in the lid, so the air pressure inside and outside the jar equalizes.

@Mr. ET I like your open mind, but I don't think a rear choke would be good for a cougar. It's good for humans because we have relatively big round heads in relation to our necks. A cougar's head is relatively flatter and its neck relatively bigger so its harder to keep it in a choke. But still, wrestling it and hitting it might work. Smaller, weaker less experienced people than you have survived cougar attacks. Bloody and mauled, but they did manage to fight off the cougar. Some by gauging its eyes, others by just continuing to fight it. But they do have big sharp claws.

He actually had pulled his phone out initially because he saw some baby animals and wanted to record them. He didn't know they were baby cougars until he got too close and them the mom came out after him. The full video is pretty intense to watch.
