What ace tournament?
@@ashmander3465it’s a thing that happens post game. If you go to someone at the front desk of the academy they’ll say about ace tournaments. You can do the tournament as many times as you want. Spoilers for the tournaments: You battle 3 of some people in the academy (randomly chosen from Arven, Penny, Jacq, Dendra, Saguaro, Salvatore, Tyme, Miriam and Raifort) then a 4th battle which is the higher level ones (it’ll be Nemona, Geeta, Hassel or Clavell). The first tournament is scripted opponents though they’ll be Arven, Jacq, Dendra then Geeta

Btw, you don't need Terapagos in your party for the Crystal Pool event in Kitakami. It can be in your boxes and still work.

When I did the event I was sure I didn't have it in my party, but when I heard that you needed it, I thought I did and just didn't remember
It's crazy to think that Pokemon SV has a postgame, and in this postgame there is another postgame that has a main story, after this main story there is another postgame that is the epilogue, and after this epilogue there will be more content released to play and interact with, so this will be Post-post-post-postgame content, lol!
But not any real postgame stuff like a battle facility.
@@lackofcheese344You say “real” post game stuff like that’s required for every game and for post games to be considered a post game. I wish they had one, but they give you the Academy Ace Tournament and the ability to battle a bunch of trainers after beating the Indigo Disk, so that kind of takes its place. I like the idea of a more traditional battle facility, but it’s not really needed here and it’s fine without it as the rest of the post game content is real post game content.
@@lackofcheese344battle facilities are for chumps. How dare they take away my levels! Black tower and white tree hollow over battle frontier any day of the week.
But after all of the post-post-post-postgame content, there will not be any clue about how Heath saw paradox pokemon if the time machine was not created xD
@@alba9259 He probably saw the paradoxes just as us saw Professor Sada/Turo in the crystal lake, The terastal energy concentrated in area zero must have distorted space-time causing him to see stranges pokemon.
I triggered the Crystal Pool event by accident when I went for a massive encounter. All I can say is it was endearing as the game as been so far

I hope that at least Carmine and Kiki meet the main cast of friends we had in the epilogue episode. Kinda bummed that Nemona, Penny, and Arvin didn’t have any part in the expansions.
I feel like this is the first gen in a long time where the mythical pokemon is actually something we know about and look forward to! The whole story with the loyal 3 clearly indicated some other 4th thing involved with them and it was perfect setup for this. I like feeling like legendaries actually have weight and aren't just random action figures you get for free and never use again.
I just realised... The Academy gang consists of a nerd, a one-track pony, a blank slate and a food-obsessed weirdo with his dog... Is the entire main game story just another episode of Scooby-Doo?

Finally, I've been excited for this since we first had mention of Pecharunt in Kitakami. I've even got a Master Ball with Pecharunt's name on it (Matches what Pecharunt looks like to some extent, the "M" even works because its Japanese name is "Momowaro")

@@ultmewtwo It's name is never revealed in Teal Mask but you see it in the flashback and I think there's some dialogue too where someone mentions it, but they call it "Peach-don"

Fun Fact: If you check out the Pokemon HOME dex there are 1024 Pokemon listed, starting with Bulbasaur, ending with Terapagos. But if you activate a filter (like Shiny forms) it already says "Filtered: X/1025" instead of "X/1024".
So Home doesn't let some Pokemon be stored in it? Cause I swear back in Gen 8 the total Pokemon number was closing in on 1100.......

In my first game on the Switch, let's Go Pikachu, in Viridian Forest, I caught a shiny caterpie at full odds as I started my journey. I can't wait and hope so bad to be reunited with my first shiny ever on the switch.

Pecharunt (aka Dokutarou) has been hinted at since The Teal Mask DLC dropped. There's a "doll" outside the grandma's shop (perhaps it's the real thing?), and it's silhouette is seen in the border of the grandpa's Ogrepon backstory (which means that it has a connection to Ogrepon and the "Loyal Three"). It's attack looks like the chain seen on each of the "Loyal Three", so it could very well be the original leader of the group.
Its not their leader, peacharunt manipulate them.

@@L337M4573RK dont worry, the epilogue does not have any reference around the trio. It all about peacharunt turning people into "zombies". I've ended it yesterday. All the epilogue and the item that trigger the event is already in the data base

It really doesn’t have any ties to the 3. The DLC begins when you interact with that doll-looking if you have the Key Item Mythical Pecha Berry. Afterwards, you get a phone call from Arven and meet the 3 main friends back in the Paldea region at your home. Then that kid friend (forgot his name) you befriended with him and his sister in Kitame calls you to visit him and bring your friends along. So all four arrive in Kitame. The whole DLC is an hour content of just battling NPC being possessed by Percharunt. Just you and that Kitame kid double team battling possessed NPC - Grandma & grandpa, Arven & that Eevee backpack girl, and single battle against Nemona is the last possessed to battle then Percharunt. Both DLC wasn’t worth it. How do I know all this? Because I already played and caught Percharunt from data mining the Key Item.
Fun fact for those who didn't know: The Kitakam Legendaries and this new Mythical are based on the story of Momotaro but flipped around. Originally Momotaro("Peach Boy") and his loyal three would vanquish any Ogres, but in Pokemon we learn that the Ogre(Ogrepon) is a good pokemon and the other four are actually not good what so ever.

Shoutout to the Poketubers who hacked their Switch to do this event a few weeks early, which I'm sure TPCi will love and they'll totally not be putting them on a list for that... Meanwhile, Austin is out here being an absolute legend keeping everyone updated and giving us amazing guides for this game! Also shoutout to Austin just casually telling us (me) to go to Kitakami for a side thing after catching Terapagos. I'm so happy to get a mthical pokemon event again! I missed out on the ones when I was younger (at least legitly, I did use my action replay when I got a little older) so I'm excited to get more story~

Awesome! Glad we're getting this soon without having to wait for an announcement on Pokemon day. Still waiting for the day when the new Paradox Pokemon will be added to raids so that people can get the opposite versions. Making the latest batch of Paradox mons one-time static encounters was a poor decision without the ability to get duplicates to trade like they did for the box legendaries.
You can't trade the miraidon you ride on so it doesn't count as a duplicate
You get the other one to catch in your game which you can trade
It’s weird because they’re the only ones in the games that can’t be traded for Pokédex completion without losing your own. The box legendaries have that second one that can be traded, you can get multiples of all version exclusives including paradox Pokémon, and starters can be bred to trade for the others. Even trade evolutions can be found in raids.
Now that pokemon home is out you can get both pokemon in one game you can just start the game on your alt switch account and get your starter catch one more pokemon out your starter into home then move it to your main account game level it level 100 and speed run the game and there you got you got an extra pokemon you can trade in home to get the other version pokemon I would do that if I did not buy the double pack

Honestly, I don't think so and think this was all planned, the leaks were bound to happen, I also believe we may get another mythical soon I think, so who knows tbh

They're not going to put something in the game files and then be surprised when it's dug up immediately. If they really wanted to keep it a surprise, they would have held onto it and released all the data in a patch later on. Also, this is locked behind DLC. Is there precedent for locking a Pokemon Day event behind a paywall?

I needed an Applin outbreak from Kitekami so I was just a few hours from reset I decided to just head to the crystal pool and wait before I started to reset I walked around and discovered that event. I was absolutely shocked and no one was talking about it!

Oh, this was far sooner than anybody expected. I hope it’s good. I’m not sure if it’s gonna get any type of crazy stat increases, but what determines that this is the mythical for the generation? What criteria is needed to be met? I certainly think that this will be quite the interesting Pokémon

video idea: the stellar tera mons are similar to wild tera. each biome has 3 static encounters and then random mons that can be stellar. it would be nice to see where all the static ones are. thank you sm for everything youve done since release. youve enriched my experience with the game and pokemon community. 💖✨
The Acadamy Tournament changes after you finish the DLC. Things like the cooking teacher getting an alcremie, Jauq gets a Galarian slobro with Quickdraw, Geeta gets a chesnaugh and dragapult, etc. The Chi-Yu money method seems to work, but the quick draw slow bro with surf is really scary. Could we get an updated money method?

I was doing hacked union circles to catch a shiny terapagos and when I caught it it was holding the item to trigger this event so I got to do it early

@AustinJohnPlays I had trouble getting to trigger too. All of the guides only mention beating the Indigo Disk and the base game, but you also have to see the cutscenes where the head of Team Star (avoiding spoilers for others) spies on the Team Star leaders when they first return to school. Her icon shows up on the school map to tell you where to go. Seriously stumped me at first too.
Of course, it comes out on the day I have to work
I had a sense that there would be more story because some of the things that happened in the HTA0 storyline haven't been explained, like why the Loyal 3 came back to life just from Kieran punching their monument. I just finished the Indigo Disk main story yesterday I was wondering what I had to do to unlock the final finale of the whole S/V story. This answers my question. Just gotta be a little more patient.
Hey Austin wanted to bring to your attention (if you dont know already) of a minor exploit involving terrarium outbreaks in Union Circles. It appears that pokemon spawned for a synchro'd pokemon do not count towards the outbreak; so by standing at the edge of an outbreak and autobattling in synchro mode, the outbreak will never go away. Have personally tested this to 200+ KOs (maxing out drop material in the process). I can't think of a strong use case for it yet, but maybe you can. Love the vids 💛
After doing the event at the top of kitikami, you should talk to arven in his dorm! Slight acknowledgement of it!
I have already watched someone play thru it, they did something to add in an item needed, to start it in Kitakami (the booth in the main town, with the old lady theirs a "peach" you can interact with it but without the item it doesn't trigger edit: yeah the purple thing you interact with it to start it. (it looks kinda like a part of the scarfs on the "noble three" the Pokémon that beat up ogerpom)

Austin, i hope this is an update to the game so we can do it whenever we want after the post game instead of an item to be distributed through an event 1 time where half the people in the world miss it
I feel like this is the most DLC we've ever had in Pokémon. Certainly a step up from Sword and Shield. The DLC and main story defo make up for any glitches in ScarVi. Which thankfully I only had slowed down performance here and there.

We finally get mythical event instead of distribution! The last time we had this (outside of bdsp) was BW 1 😵💫
I feel like it might be the crystal pool event. Perhaps they'll be hint to go there for ppl who are unaware on Jan 11th. It just makes more sense because it seems like that scene should have meant more than we saw.
btw we still dont know if the pecha berry thing is just gunna be a boring event item code though but we have seen how a small portion of the event turns out ngl the first few bits is all dialogue

Can you look into a new build for farming the Ace Academy Tournament? They reworked the teams, increased the levels and made the AI much tougher. I dont think its possible while holding an Amulet coin if youre going for fully AFK.
