They should make it so the goat horns can do different commands to the dog like tell it to stay close or spread out or sit.
That would be really cool. Especially if you have a pack of them
or like a mechanic to train different dogs to do different things so you can command a coordinated dog army against enemies

I swear, every time a new snapshot comes out, I just think back to the days when me and everyone in the middle school computer lab would be playing that free version of 1.12, and then I see how far the game has come since then, and cry in both sadness for what we've lost, and happiness for what we've received.
...and here I am anytime I come across jungles/etc, having to remind myself 'oh yeah, these are in the game now'...

i agree. although you could just use a texture pack because the part that actually changes when died is just an overlay that you can change the size/shape of.

@@lordender_kitty_officialyeah, but see, if we have to recur to texture packs, datapacks and mods to correct something that should have been what they tried here, then we basically are saying that they are ignorant to what the base actually wants when they ask for dyeable armor, and if that's the case, what are we paying them for? let's just pay the texture pack/datapack/mod developers instead
I prefer the old UI, but i dont dislike the new UI. I know vanilla tweaks has UI similar to this. However, I do like the background change for the End.
The end poem is not ugly... but it makes it WAY harder to read. You're reading blue and green text on a dark cyan background. That's literally the worst text backround immaginable
The UI menu changes are very similar to what Bedrock edition has had for awhile now.

Personally disagree. Being able to see what's going on when in keybinds and stuff is awesome, considering you can't pause when online.
I remember the good old days when the Minecraft pause background menu screen was dirt.

@@RaiJolt2 no, the settings background changed today. But the pause menu has always been a dimmed, blurred out version except for a really long time ago.
i hope some people are happy, i feel like Mojang is listening more and more to the community, this time we got 2 things, the armor dyeability, and the armor changes, it looks like the dog cant take damage when the armor is on, meaning it wont die from a creeper blow to the face, the armor might break but thats not what people are mad about.
I tried and you can blow a creeper in it's face and not only will the wolf survive but the armor would not break. Two creepers will break de armor but still keep the wolf with full health. A third creeper could blow in the dog face and still survive if you are lucky and it does't take fall damage. And any time the armor gets damaged you can repair it with the scutes so dogs are really good for battle now.
Lava damage? Fall damage? They're the biggest killers of wolves due to the horrible ai

You can use the Programmer Art datapack to bring it back, but that’ll change all the textures too

Adding breaking animations like this as durability runs out for actual armour and tools would have been a better update imo

Idk the UI feels like an overzealous modpack's I kinda like the jankyness of Minecraft's UI (though that may be the programmer in me speaking, we're not known for UI)
The Dirt was iconic, now it looks like the default Unity UI. Big mistake.

I like the new UI, though I feel like it might be cooler if the headers/footers (tops/bottoms) of the menus were still dirt, while the darkened middle uses the panorama/world, like in the Iris mod’s shaderpack menu (there’s also a mod that does this for the world selection menu, but I forgot which mod it was). edit: I've found the mod that does this for the world selection menu, as well as other menus with footers/headers. It's the "Panorama Screens" mod. However, I'm not sure this is actually the mod I used before xD but it's basically the same thing.

One of the biggest changes is you can now put multishot in a bow and flame on a crossbow. Don't believe me? Well try it out. It only works in creative to enchant it however it still works normal in survival. This isn't a bug it's a technical change and I hope it comes to survival fully.

The UI changes are definitely not the biggest changes... the technical change of replacing the item "tag" NBT tag with structured components is. That'll break a ton of datapacks and custom maps that don't spend the time to refactor for it 😂 But it's all for the better, because the new structure is more efficient and way cleaner.

@@JeskidoYTthat's a dumb thing to point out. All packs that used NBT tags are broken lol. But backwards compatibility isn't always possible. The old way was clunky
@@JeskidoYTnot even the first time, people lost their minds when they swapped from ID numbers too whats now getting replaced for the same reason. The breaks can be fixed and it's supposed to be faster and easier
BTW they also are planning to add Hardcore mode to Bedrock Edition, official announcement tomorrow. Date hasn't been decided yet because of bugs and stuff, so that's something to look forward to.

The new armor is amazing, your wolf is literally inmortal, even if it falls in lava (The only thing that can bypass the armor is potion effects, being stuck in a wall or powder snow and drowning), if you keep reparing the armor during combat it will not die. I was testing it and a creeper explosion does not break it, two explosions do break the armor but still the wolf is at full health when the armor breaks so it can keep fighting and survive.
It should stop wolf from freezing

The old UI is so much better the transparent one is just too complex clustered with different textures from different objects in the background. But the END screen looks really nice though if they only keep that it would be cool Hope they add an option for the old one
I get Mojang wanting the armor to look like the Armadillo shells, but just some slight reworking would be nice. I liked the default armors color and look alone, but with dye the salmon-pink color really gets in the way of making a good-looking combo of colors. They should make the base color not be salmon/pink, but instead maybe a muted brown, leaning into gray/black, which would work better with more colors. That or they should allow us to dye the whole thing. But I'm so glad they've added customization anyways instead of down the road

The next layer of progression after tools and armor: Accessories: It Increases player’s stats like hit points, block reach, jump hieght, inventory slots… . An Additional heart icons will appear for the player. Accessories are crafted with blocks of ore (blocks of diamond, iron…) and unique loot from epic dungeons. They have levels just like tools and armor according to the ore it’s made of, just like armor and tools. They are spread through the dimension they are useful for, for example to craft the one who extends block reach, one should go to caves(trail chambers), adding inventory slots -> the end, adding breath points/bubbles oceans and adding hit points/hearts -> warden dimension… .

This last snapshot has made me so much more excited for this update. Imo they perfected wolf armor and the new menu updates are AMAZING. I usually play with mods that implement stuff like that and now it’s in vanilla

i really like the new menu, and the wolf armour changes are great. i just checked the technical changes for the snapshot and THEYRE HUGE!!! completely overhauling /give and other item related commands. Overall, i quite like this snapshot!
While the dirt background was iconic, the new layout makes sense with the panorama instead. I like the UI change, I'd like an option to change it back. I will say the old pixelated Java Edition logo was better than the smooth version, in my opinion.
The old textures are still in programmer art.

I think they should have different panoramas for different parts of the menu because every menu having the same background makes it really difficult to mentally distinguish them compared to before. Also, I think it would be cool if they added some more motion to the menus

I love the wolf armor chamge it went from completely useless (makes the wolf take 2-4 more hits before death) to actually being useful making the wolf last a considerable length of time longer I will now make an effort for wolves again so i can go out with 2 every time.. now just for armadillo farms...

the new UI is very clean
idk personally I feel like dog armor should mimic regular armor & tools with variation in mind. scutes replenishing armor is great enough, it would be nice if leather dog armor was dyeable (no base color), and maybe ore dog armor can be enchanted or something (implemented down the line)
i like the new UI changes. Change isn't always bad, it just needs to be done well (like this has done)
The background changes in the in-world settings menu is great. You can now still see the world around you as you fiddle with your settings if you're on a server. The main menu change is meh, I don't feel any particular way about that one. But the post-Dragon screen? Minecraft is defined by it's grass block. The dirt texture IS minecraft and has been for so long. To change what is undoubtedly the most recognisable "end" to the game, and not even for any other reason other than "aesthetics" to be honest, is in my opinion a bad choice. Hope that this is a snapshot thing only.

I really dislike the background changes, but I'm sure there will be no shortage of texture packs and client-side mods to revert it for people who hate change like me.

This feels like a parody change done for no reason what so ever other than for the sake of parody. Some of it looks nice, but the dirt was iconic and not an issue. I think leaving the dirt in sub menus was the right call.

Not just more durability, it also works differently now. It now absorbs all damage until it breaks, more like a shield than armor. So as long as your dog has armor on, it's effectively invulnerable as long as the armor lasts, and can keep fighting for you. Dog armies are viable now.
