This is how we feed our sheep. Not much technology except a used skidsteer. This is just one Britespan barn. We have two more the same size plus an old dairy barn and feed approximately 500 sheep/day at the moment prelambing. Morning chores take about 1 hour and evening chores 45 minutes.
Thanks so much .I a sheep farmer in uganda

It is a very practical setup indeed. Is this feeding rack lambproof?
I don't believe any feeder is lamb proof, but it is pretty good. Only the smartest of lambs get through! If you follow me, you will see how well they work as the lambs grow!
Waw amazing ...i like your video..thank for saring 👍👍
Thank you for watching!
Very nice video 👏👏 congratulations
Thank you very much!
Very nice sheep farming
I appreciate that!
Nice to see such a beautiful setup of healthy sheeps, which breed of sheep is this exactly ? How many kids does it give an average or every birth ? What are the baby birth weight average ? How much weight does this sheeps gain feom birth to 6 months of age ?
The ones with the black heads are Suffolk sheep. They average 1.8 lambs officially but it's not uncommon for us to average 2.0. They weigh about 8-10 pounds on average at birth although singles at 15 pounds are possible. Suffolks average a pound/day for the first few months with average weights of 100 pounds at 100 days. After that, growth slows somewhat. At 6 months a ewe lamb would be around 140 pounds and a ram lamb 160+ pounds
@@EwetopiaFarms Thank you for explanation
@@EwetopiaFarms one more question if you could please answer, do you feed kids milk replacer or their own mother milk ?
@@moderngoatfarming sometimes we have to give milk replacer if the mother is not producing enough or is not well. Otherwise they nurse off their mothers.
Can someone tell me which lambs are best used for wool and shearling coats
Interesting sheep
Kindly could you describe how you build these sheep structure from Kenya

Good job.

Are the sheep able to crack the corn so it doesn’t go straight throw?
Yes, they have no problem cracking the corn. I know others animals have problems but not sheep
@@EwetopiaFarms Right on!
Do these sheeps remain there for whole year ? Or you take them for grazing outside?
They are free to go to pasture when there is pasture. Right now we are snow covered so the sheep are all indoors except for the rams.
@@EwetopiaFarms how many. Months. They remain indoors and why. Not. Rams
@@rohailwani Have a look at our videos. I explain how and why about everything we do
Which sheep’s are best used to make wool and shearling coats
Difficult to say because all wool is used for different purposes depending on qualities. Softer fleeces are used for finer items whereas coarser wool would be used for carpets or jackets. So it would depend on what you wanted to use the wool for. And I assume any could be used for shearling coats
Great
What's the main diet and supplement of these sheep?
Main diet is hay with 60% alfalfa and the rest a variety of assorted grasses. We supply with a 16%ration grain mix with cor, barley and roasted soybeans
What is the name of that grass
60% alfalfa mixed with grasses
👍👍👍...
Hi there!! Very professional sheep farm, Can u sell sheep in the USA in new work ,if yes how much cost one sheep 140 pound

No. We have Suffolk and Dorset. Some of our cross sheep have a little Texel blood in them
nice information... where is your farm address? I'm from Indonesia, and I'm also a sheep breeder.
@@saefulkhanan1859 Thank you. We live in Joyceville Ontario Canada

Is it useful to import from you to Egypt?
Sorry, we do not export
Hello sir . .Do you sell calves to Morocco
Sorry, we do not export
😍😍😍😍😍😍🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩❤❤❤❤❤
I am interested in your feed ingredients
All the feed we use is grown on the farm. Our creep feed is a mixture of cracked corn, barley, and roasted soybeans sprinkled with soybean meal. Our adults currently just get a little whole corn. All sheep get free choice mixed grass and alfalfa hay
Where is this place and do you sell please?
We are in Joyceville, Ontario, Canada. We sell sheep throughout Canada. We do not export.
@@EwetopiaFarms thanks for the response
You use silage in sheeps
No we don't
We don't use silage for sheep here either. We either use pasture grass or hay in winter months. Silage actually takes a lot more work to process and get it right than hay does.
@@FarmFreshIB yes, and it is more expensive and more chance to go bad if you don't feed it fast enough
Why do they need grain?
You don't need to feed grain. The reason it is fed is to get them to grow faster and gets them in great shape quicker than just hay.
Greg judy......
What type of breed is this sheep
We have Suffolk, Dorset and crosses
@@EwetopiaFarms how long and tall and wide is the bard in meters? And how many sheeps are in the barn? Im from europe ? Thank you
@@emanuelberinde9284 not sure how tall it is but it is 140 feet long X 50 feet wide so about 45 m x 14 m
@@EwetopiaFarms and how many sheeps cand stay in there ? 100?
How much quantity of corn you are using for each sheep ?
It depends on their condition. At the moment, breeding ewes are getting about a pound a day split into two feedings because they are in good shape. A month before lambing we will increase that amount a little. Lactating ewes get about a pound a day morning and night for the first month and a half and then we trickle it down to nothing by weaning
@@EwetopiaFarms thanks. I am using maiz 100g per goat
🇨🇦👍👍👍OK
Do u export to india And what is cost of pregnant ewe
No, we do not export
hai monig miiis
Where is this ?

Can you also talk about income
What income? 🤣🤣🤣 We make a living sheep farming but basically just enough to survive
@@EwetopiaFarms I also wanted to open a sheep farm. What should I start with? I'm new here. Can I make money? I love sheep
@@user-xe5qc4mq6m it depends on how much it costs to start up for you. Sheep farming is not a money maker. If you are good at it, it will provide you with a life though
@@EwetopiaFarms I don't have any experience, I don't know which breed of lamb is the best
@@EwetopiaFarms He can't tell me which breed of sheep to start with. How much money will it cost?
Can you please share your no I want to establish sheep farm and want to discuss design
Please watch our videos which should explain in detail all you need to know! Thanks
It may be quick , but pushing a round bales NOT easy!
Dry bales are not bad but you do have to be big and/or strong for a wet bale!
Also hard cores bales roll better. Sift core would be terrible to try push out!
@@EwetopiaFarms I still think I would try to figure out some way to rig up a winch system or even a pulley with a cable that the tractor could pull. That way you could set the bale in place with the tractor, add some kind of center spike (like on a tractor bale unroller) and then use the cable and mechanical power to unroll the bale. At least in our part of the world the typical round bale weighs between 800 to 1,000 pounds. Arnie may be fine pushing it now, but we all get older or have physical issues from time to time. Even the flu or a sprained ankle would make your system VERY difficult to do then. I guess I just think like this because I homestead with a disability, but it is something for us all to consider.
@@FarmFreshIB so true. We are in that 60+ age range already! I agree you could probably rig something up and like you said, it may be something in our future- Arnie always love a project.
