DC is a dirty fake
Right after the ref called him on the fingers in the first round he was right back to fully extending his fingers within seconds. I think a point should be deducted as soon as you defy the order from the ref, the threat of the eye poke should be enough to garner the point deduction. He was wilfully ignoring the ref the entire fight.
DC is garbage. Weidman has become garbage. Gary Copeland should be fined and removed. DQ all day after the warning.

I agree hard warnings are worthless. Mini Brock didn't even give him a hard warning after the second poke, I think he said once fingers down not out. The ref alllowed him to fight almost 3 rounds with his fingers extended literally the whole fight.

Regarding DC, I find it ridiculous how the UFC made a big spectacle of Stipe poking DC in the eye in their trilogy fight and causing massive damage to DC's eye (DC's eye was already showing damage before the eye poke, mind you), yet skim over all of the times DC poked Stipe in the eye throughout the whole trilogy which helped lead to a knockout in the first fight and Stipe's retina being detached after the second fight. I used to praise DC for being careful around conversations involving eye pokes because he knew that he was a massive benefactor, but his recent comments about Weidman and Silva are shameful.
When company man gets in any way served soem sort of injustice, its the biggest problem in the world. When they do same thing, well shet happens you know. Same sith adesanya and his coach. Just go fight injured on 1 month short notice against Izzy on full camp and healthy bro.

Man, back in the day, as an Anderson Silva fan, I was OK with Weidman taking over the torch, as he seemed to be a decent guy, but then came things like him celebrating ober Silva's broken leg in their second fight, and then very obviously trying to get a DQ win vs Mousasi by touching the ground just with a finger and then throwing a hissy fit against the ref, when Mousasi pulled him up to knee and KOed him. Then looking at his record, he's been clearly on the juice during his reign (13-0 before USADA, 2-7 during USADA), and now this eye-poke shit. Not only eye-poking multiple times (you have control over your hands, so it's not an accident, it's at least negligent and if it happens multiple times deliberate), but then also trashing the victim of his eye-pokes. Yeah, lost a ll respect for Weidman.

I had a fight where I poked my opponent accidentally in the eye, and I immediately stepped back to let him recover. I even let up on him after that until I knew he was actually ready.
Now add in a $300k win incentive to finish your opponent. Do u change anything? Ref should have taken away a point on each poke after the first. Chris can’t win then without a finish. Fair af.

It was something being in the building for this because from my angle I couldn’t see the eye poke it happened so fast, I have no idea how much was shown on tv but Silva was complaining a lot and fans who didn’t realize were mocking him. It was super loud in boardwalk hall after the Weidman fight. Plus there was horrible internet connection in the arena so it was hard to realize how bad the poke was, making it a rollercoaster of emotions
