My next doot neighbor left Ky and moved to orlando fl. Hr left his dog chained in. The back yard. My husband and I could not stand it. We srarted feeding and watering him. My good friend has a dog rescue and I called to see if she had room for him. His grandfather lives up the street so we got the proper paper work signed and they came and picked him up. About 2 months later he got a wonderful and loving new home. Made us so happy.

I took a puppy from a terrible situation. She lived next door to a friend, and her owners left her out in the sun, heat, and the poor thing had no water or food. It took until it got dark and went over, cut her tight rope off of her, and put her in my purse. My friend was watching to see what her owner did when they realized she was gone. They didn't even go out and try to find her. Maybe it wasn't right, but she didn't deserve that kind of life. She was with me for 15 wonderful years, and I miss her sweet loving self so much. I did something similar when I was 17. I went to a party with a friend to a place I didn't know the people. They had 2 puppies and they were so cruel to one, wouldn't let him eat, kicked him and I heard them say they should take him out and shoot him. I don't know if they were serious, but I stuffed him in my coat and took him home. We had him for 12 yrs and gave him a wonderful home.
You both did the right thing. In my opinion. What else is there to do? Let it get bad enough the animal has to be tormented to near de*ath to rescue
I did take a kitten from a relatives home, he was being abused so I took her, they told me they were calling to police,, I told them “go ahead, I sure they would love to know how bad he’s being treated.” I had that baby for 11 yrs. ❤❤❤

Had to take a dog once from a neighbor. They were not feeding it thinking they would make it a mean guard dog. It didn't have a mean bone in its body. Made a trail with dog food across the street. Then called a breed rescue group. They said he was only going to last few more days if I hadn't done it

If I saw any animal in bad shape , initially I would report it to the police. If nothing was done, nothing would stop me from removing it myself! NOTHING!
You're this centuries St. Joseph, the Patron Saint of Animals. Thank you, for all you do for these little and big souls. I've rescued and adopted over 40 dogs, cats and horses when I had my ranch and even now in retirement. There is no greater sound then hearing that sigh of contentment from a dog who feels safe in a soft bed, a horse in a stall with a bucket of sweet mix or a kitten purring wrapped in a warm blanket. Bless your Heart Rocky.

I rescued a dog from next door. The puppy was underweight and was being attacked by their pit bull, the cries were horrible. It came out one day and ran to me. The neighbor on the other side and I took it to a vet. He was dirty, hungry and also deaf from ear infections not treated. He was adopted into a loveing family and even tho he was deaf, he was the greatest dog. I do not feel bad for rescusing the puppy. I had called animal control and they did nothing.
I've learned that Dalmatians can be deaf, which is why they're put into the fire trucks. (*My ex told me that info. He's a firefighter. ) My sister had a Dalmatian she named Pongo. She had 3 kids who loved the dog too.

Thank you for rescuing the neighbordog 🙏. Our Dalmatian ist, the second, isn’t deaf. He comes very fast, if I’m going in the kitchen 😉. He is also not afraid of loud noises. The Dalmatians probably worked as sirens when the fire department still had horse-drawn carriages. The Dalmatians used to walk alongside the carriage. But not our dog. He finds it boring to run alongside someone while jogging or cycling. We would end up in the nearest bushes.

Malora is adorable! When a neighbor's dog was left out in pouring rain tied to a step railing, we went and brought her into our garage. The owner was quite irate, but we did it again when the same thing happened. In time, we got on friendly terms and came to know that the owner loved the dog but sometimes would take a nap and forget he was outside. By then the owner was fine with us bringing the dog to our garage if we felt it best, but she also got better about getting the dog back in. She and her dog have both since passed.

I like the way it's done in England and Australia. The animal control officers visit the home and let the pet owner know what needs to be done. They followup to make sure the trquired care is done and they come with the police to remove the dog if the owner fails to meet the requirements.

My brother and I when we were little over 50 years ago called the dog catcher on our next door neighbor because the poor dog was left tied up all the time. So the dog catcher guy comes and we tell him he's crying all the time he's always chained up. So he tells us that he can't go in their yard and take him but if he gets loose call back.😉😉 My brother and I must've been no older than 8 and 10 years old. We went in the back yard and took him in our yard and waited for the dog catcher to come back and handed him over. I felt so bad for this dog and the poor treatment he received. This was over 50 years ago so as a kid I didn't know anything about rescues or if there were any. 😢🙋🏻♀️💜🐕💜

I wonder if part of her apprehension is because of her vision being restricted by the cone. Even the most loving dog is annoyed by the cone of shame. The vision restriction combined with her not knowing you has to be challenging for her. She's adorable!
Okay, teslinjoe … Please explain why it is a “cone of shame.” I’ve heard that before, but it doesn’t make sense. To me, it seems like a Cone of protection. JMHO

She’s cute!! Hope she finds her forever home with a family who will actually take care of her.
I adopted a little black/brindle sweet little girl last year. Her adoption anniversary is next Thursday. I got her from the local shelter for only 15.00. I saw her on the website and literally got there and she was still there. and as soon as I saw her I was in love. She was a neglected stray with most of her hind fur missing. She had a seizure (small) and so she’s on medication for that, but unfortunately she’s in the first stage of heart disease. I make her food, make sure she doesn’t get overheated. She was already house trained and my little chihuahua loves her too. I did an Embark DN A and found she’s 50 percent Boston Terrier, mixed with Yorkshire terrier, Maltese and Miniature schnauzer. She’s beautiful and named her Chloe. Or as i call her, “Chloe Clo Clo.”. I hope this baby finds a loving and patient home filled with love and affection.

Rescues are the BEST!! I had to hand feed & give water by a dropper for a couple months because he was sooo weak. Wasn’t sure he would make it but day by day he got better ( he had been running on streets for several years) SO many health issues!! He now eats a raw diet & is healthy and beautiful!! He is so loyal & loving!! PLEASE give rescues a chance 🐾
In 2015 we rescued our Kona who was abused by the families small children and when we got him it took almost a year for him to get comfortable enough to come to me AND sleep close to me on our bed. After that he slept between my legs when id sleep on my side or close to my chest. When sadly my wife passed in 2021 he would sleep on her side of the bed and wouldn't sleep close to me yeah he would still sleep on the bed but not like before!!

Getting laws enforced is hard in some counties. Small staff, funds. Some people hoard dogs out in country but can pay the cheap license fee. I call warden anytime I think it's bad.
Once I offered money to the owner for their half starved collie And I called collie rescue to come get him. It worked.

I can't imagine not cuddling with my furbaby. We cuddle some nights in bed even. He gets up and gets between my husband and me. I cuddle him while my Husband pets him. We rescued him. He was abused. It takes a LONG time for these poor babies to overcome the doggie PTSD. Our Baby still has a problem sometimes. But he has come a long way. My Husband did all that work. He started watching Cesar Milan.
@SuperDenise128 • I love Cesar Milan. I’ve been watching him since Daddy was new to his channel. I’ve learned a lot from him about dogs. You and your husband are both amazing to take the time and make sure your dog is ok still to this day. They can have flashbacks and will make them go back in time for a moment. But I’m sure your dog knows he’s in a safe place with you both. You’re awesome.
She is adorable ❤ I'm praying she gets a loving home very soon. She is starved of kindness and love. We need to make it a Federal offense to abuse and/or mistreat animals. Mandatory jail, mandatory stiff fines and a registry that this person can never own an animal ever again. Bless everyone who helps and is helping change these antiquated laws.

I rescued a dog like her - He is now 13, and if I were in the state or close enough to drive - I would be there in a heartbeat! She is precious! She will make a wonderful pet/friend once she warms up. it may take a year, but it will be SO SO SO worth it!

We got a rescue that was pulled from a yard when she had an embedded rope, broken tail and was taken to the vet and diagnosed with tetanus. She was painfully skinny, too. We adopted her in 2020 and the embedded spot is still there, but she’s perfectly ok and such a fun dog.

I can not stand for people to do this to animals. They are so loving and ask so little and they do so much more for us than we do for them. How can one be so cruel to an animal. Menora is a wonderful little dog and just need some one to love her. Thank you so much Rocky for sitting with Menora. If I see a dog in a backyard not being taken care of after a couple of days I would call the SPCA and report what is going on or I would take the dog myself and get the dog taken care of. Even before a couple of days I would give the dog water and food but would certainly keep watch.

I bet this is the first time she's ever had someone to give her treats or any love. Many hugs and kisses, little one.
Our old neighbours used to lock up their dog in this very small cramped up room (basically like a storage room) and the dog kept whining, day in and day out. And when we looked over the wall, we saw how skinny this dog was (not being fed). And the times they let him out we always tried giving him food over the wall when they weren't there. But eventually we made the call to contact the SPCA (in south africa, that's our Animal shelter/control) to come and investigate, and they removed him from the property. He got adopted a week later!

My dog was originally rescued from a back yard!! I now have had her 8 years .
OMGOSH. I wish she was here in Florida. Her story is so similar to my Luna when I got her! I can't take a dog I can't do a meet and greet with. But my heart aches for her. Took Luna almost 3 years to really trust me. Worth it

I live in Australia, and I love watching your channel Rocky. Your do amazing work giving those dogs a feeling of love which a lot have probably never felt before. I'm a cat person, always have been, but when I watch your channel I feel like giving all the dogs you sit with a gentle hug and make them feel loved and worthy, Id love for them to realise they are precious little souls who deserve all the love in the world, they are loyal to those who love and protect them and deserve to be rewarded for it. Peace , love and protection for all animals, they are beautiful, every single one of them, I love your work, keep spreading the love 💖
Rocky does cats also sometimes. He is not very comfortable with them. I think I have seen him handle 3 cats in 5 years.

Yes, puppies are cute but there is so much training and so much energy. 😊 Sometimes for a cuddle pup an older dog is so much more ready to calmly cuddle!!
This particular "pup" is estimated to be five years old, so not a "pup". Dogs are living beings and *not* stuffed animals. If you want something to cuddle, get a stuffed animal.

That poor poppet! I itch on a few places because of eczema, but she must have been itching all over! Just thinking about that is making me itch even more! Some people don't realise how much damage fleas can do in large numbers. It can even kill because of the anaemia they get from having so much blood taken from them. Yes, for most pets & their owners they're not much more than a horrible annoyance (been there, done that!) which you have to deal with seriously. But it can be disastrous if not treated. She looks like she'll make someone a very sweet and loyal companion ❤❤❤

My ex, SIL and I pulled a cocker years ago after dark. The owners and child were abusing him. They moved a few days later. He was heart worm positive and lots of anxiety. But with a lot of love he was the best dog ever. Had him, Smuggler, for 10 years. His passing was such a difficult thing for me.

I cannot even remeber the number of dogs I has "stolen"/rescued from back yards and locked cars sitting in very hot temps with the windows closed! When a life is on the line, I act. If I can help save a life, I can deal with legal stiff after the fact. Fortunately, I have been blessed and not gotten "in trouble", although I have been repromanded by authorities a few times before unofficially being told thank you.
Interesting fact, I was doing Tesla research today and a Tesla owner can set the car to keep a dog/pet cool in the car. It’s right in the app.
Let me qualify that I don’t ever leave a dog in a car period.

Poor little girl, she’s so frightened and very unsure she’s safe. I feel like she was just tossed in the backyard and woefully neglected. It’s always so heartwarming to see these little dogs warm up almost immediately to affection and positive affirmations. Having fleas is bad enough, but they can cause anemia, flea allergy dermatitis and tapeworms. I would have recused this dog. I pray she finds a loving forever home. Rocky, you’re the best!

A couple of families I cleaned house for stuck their dogs outside and neglected their chains getting tangled, water, etc. I would always care for the dogs when I came, give them love and treats, but it broke my heart to know how they were treated when I wasn't there. I prayed for God to give the owners hearts of compassion for their dogs, and in both cases, they brought their dogs inside and started treating them like family. In one case, their house was burglarized, and the cops told them the dog on a chain was not a deterrent. All I can is God works in mysterious ways His wonders to perform.

My daughter saw a lady shaking my dog around her neck. My daughter went up to her with her phone in hand * said if you dond give me that Dog RIGHT NOW., I'm Calling the Police. The Lady handed her over. Turns out she had Withheld food & water as a punishment for 2 years. She was so malnutritioned i was afraid to take her. She had no hair. Almost no teeth because of Malnutrition the vet told me. People can be so very cruel. Who could do auch a thing. Especially to a tiny dog?? I told my daughter dont ever sho me that lady or I'll go to jail. The Lady lived somewhere in her Apartment complex.

I was housesitting for a friend and when I opened the door there was a tiny little puppy in the hall who had relieved itself on the carpet. I passed it to get to the doors of his studio and it followed me inside. It jumped up on the futon. And was so sweet. I think it was a surprise Xmas present, it was boxing day. It wasn't thin, it wasn't timid. It had just been locked out of their apartment. I was tempted to take it with me to be rescued by my friends. But I didn't, I have hope that they lived a happy life with the owner and the locked in the hallway never happened again. I never saw it again. 😢

I saved a dog locked ina hot car, called out the owner in a public space, threatened to call cops, he told me go ahead, so pulled out my phone, he lifted his ass, and took his dog out of the car 🚗!! Nothing better than seeing the pup walking in the fresh air and sunshine. He did call me a f***ing b****, i said id rather be that than an a******! Job done 😊❤
What a cutie, a scruffy lil' black terrier mix.💕🐾🐕🦺 Melora" is a nice name (last time I heard it was someone in HS). Without AC, it's hard to get animals out of bad situations like that. If there's no other help, though, and the opportunity presents itself... 🤷♀️
What is worse with a Dog being covered with fleas is when they're covered in ticks. Important thing to always remember is never treat puppie or kittens with flea spray without consulting with a Veterinarian first. When ones dogs or cats are treated for fleas and ticks yard has to be treated also.
