- Docking the entire tail can lead to prolapses in the ewes due to the muscles being cut. Sunburn and flystrike also more likely

Why do they have numbers painted on them? Are they raised for meat?

- Numbers help us identify which lambs go with which mothers. Most are registered breeding stock

- @@alinasheepfarm if you can't get milk from the ewe or the lamb is crying or the lamb is weak and/or cold, or lamb is hunched up - all are signs you should give it a bottle. If you are not sure, offer it a bottle. Some hungry lambs will take it right away and you will know. Other lambs have to be taught how to drink from a bottle

- Yes but not very profitable. Cattle is more profitable but a lot harder work. Sheep are more manageable.

It’s going to be very interesting to see how these round and well built Suffolk ram lambs mature. It would be good to see them at the end of the year and make an assessment. The fresh spring grass presents the lambs so well. The well known bank managers hour in the afternoon!
