i have build a Sandblast for my self, but my air compressor was not adequate. So i build my own air compressor with two pump and four pistons. It has exceeded my expectations!!!!!
Enjoy waching and dont miss not a single minute of this video

    • After drilling into the air tank, don't you need to clean out the metal shavings that fall inside it?

    • You may want to add another bleeder valve at the bottom of the lower tank so you can flush the water that condensates when air is compressed.

    • hey man! luv your work. If you permit just let me say that u've got your math wrong. your compressor maker about 507L/Min. This is because you divided by 1.57min but 1min57sec is 1.95min. Hope this helps!

  • Loved the video. As a retired mechanical Welder and metal fitter I never thought I would learn anything or see anything that I had not done. I was wrong and learned a trick at 11:00. I have used many things to do the same thing, from tempseal, to glues, to tack welds, to mechanical fingers. Anyway, your video made me remenis about my life and jobs. Thank you, or, Спасибо!

  • Well done. I question the fans and I bet the unit is seriously top heavy and I would have make copper lines from the pump to the tank but I admire people who build things themselves. I built a unit last year from 3 junk yard air compressors for a total cost of $12 US.

  • It is pretty nice the way of making the air compressor tank, but I'm not sure if u just can make holes wherever you want on the tank, at high pressure i think it would be weak.

    • This is the thing with human ingenuity, we spend enough time swinging spanners and facing problems such as these we usually find our own solutions. I've been using the spanner or socket holding nut solution for decades and this video was the first time I've seen someone else use it. This is not something taught to me, I come up with it and I didn't realise it would be insightful to others. So you say 'Gangster level engineer!', well I'm an aircraft maintenance engineer however I don't see that as something special, my guess is you'd likely have special knowledge somewhere in your skillset that would be amazing to us too.

  • 3:01 I knew it from their look that those are TNG,GAS or however u would call em ,tanks from cars,because to some peoples surprises ,in some countries (including ours,Serbia) plenty of cars are using this type of fuel instead of gasoline,it's way more cleaner ,both for the engine and our planet ,and plenty of cheaper too.I have 2 tanks from my old cars that i sold on scrapyard ,but i saved some parts from them,including these tanks,one is 80L and other 60 liters,i had exactly same idea to make my DIY air compressor ,and this video helped me much both in extra ideas and to speed them up,since i was delaying this for some time xd.

  • My favorite part of this: Not a perfectionist. Use the tools you have, modify what you need, make unique parts to suit your needs instead of requiring specially made pieces, etc. This is exactly the way a DIYer would go about it. Excellent work and craftsmanship - but not to the crazy OCD lathe and machine shop unachievable build :) Thank you!

  • well done, a very cool idea 👍🏻, i do have one recomendation for you wich is replacing the 2 rubber inlet air pressing tubes with metal ones to overtake the huge pressure in tanks.

  • You should try a car airbox with its filter. Gas masks cartridges are not made for a high flow,and their lifespan is quite short,so you will reduce more and more your flow as they clog up. I think you would improve the flow.

    @michaelovitch@michaelovitch4 жыл бұрын
    • I tested with gas mask filter and without filter the flow is the same, I'll see by the time it gets dirty.

  • Basic calculation but there is more depending on what size line you are using / output pressure....then there's condensing. There is a reason to get a proper one isn't cheap, but can be built cheap if time is taken. What blows my mind is how in the US you can buy 300L or larger pressure vessels for the price of what i pay to buy a 50L in NZ. Thanks for video :)

  • Nice compressor, there are only few things to improve 1 - Metal pipes from the pumping units to the tank - rubber hoses could burst because of high temperature 2 - Replace the check valves with the ones specif for air compressors, which have a third connection for the pressure switch. This allow to empty the feeding line from the pumping unit, once the tank is full, avoiding any stress to the electric motor when it has to restart. 3 - The air filter - important - a simple paper filter (like the cars engines ones) is better for compressor because it has large flow rate and reduce the suction effort. The mask filters you used have a very low flow rate because they are for human breathing, and this surely reduce your compressor performances.
