In today’s episode of Figuring Out, we have Dr. Pal Manickam in conversation with Raj Shamani. He is a well-known Gastroenterologist who also creates content on KZhead and has over 2 million subscribers. In this episode, most of your questions about gut health and overall health are answered.
We started this episode by talking about what happens when our gut is not well, then he shared various experiments on mice like how gut bacteria influence mood and behavior, and personality in the last 15 years. He shared how he went from 100kgs to 65kgs within 3-5 years. He shared how not eating at the right time and not eating right affects our health in the long run. He also answered questions like why bloating happens and how to solve it, foods that cause gas, why some people feel nauseous after eating, why many people are becoming lactose intolerant, and many such questions.
We also talked about why young people have started getting heart attacks, what causes fatty liver, do vegetarians have better gut than non-vegetarians, why people are getting fat, and why many women get fat after marriage. We ended our conversation by busting some popular myths about gut health. For more such insightful conversations, subscribe to our channel and join our journey of Figuring Out.

    • We don't need to create divide between the two. Both the podcasts are unique in their own way. It's obvious the podcaster wouldn't want to repeat the topics already covered by another podcaster. Let's not create this guy is better and that guy is better. It's not conducive for podcasts to improve in quality. Competition and learning from each other is important for everyone and ultimately the consumer.

I enjoy your questions which are always relevant and not just meant for the sake of asking them.... In next 5 years, this podcast is gonna become the biggest in INDIA.

  • Hi Raj I respect Dr pal alot but my respect for many podcasters is a question these days when I see each podcaster is insensitive towards the most sensitive part of the guest. I am sure you must have seen his previous podcast that why difficult question abt his finger n related issue. If you really wanna educate your audience pls put the other podcast. It too difficult for anyone even a doctor or guest to share the emotional journey specially related to dear ones again n again Empathy is missing here from Raj's side. My heart goes out for Mr pal & family. I can feel the pain n how could Raj not see. Why this question in every podcast : how come host is insensitive Dr pal 🙏 Thank you so much . Rare people are genuine like you

It's high time men express their feelings and stop hiding it under the guise of being "macho." Also, I really appreciate that he shared this story so that we take up pre-marital genetic counselling. A diverse gene pool always produces stronger and healthier offsprings.

  • The podcast is fantastic, offering a wealth of information. However, I have a suggestion: It would be beneficial to make the podcast multilingual to expand its reach and ensure more people can access the content, benefiting both you and the audience. Additionally, I appreciate the inclusion of "myth" questions and believe it would be beneficial to incorporate them into every episode, as it helps dispel common misconceptions and challenge orthodox thinking.

  • What an enriching episode! I have always enjoyed listening to @DrPal He conveys to the point information in the most simple and interesting way. It was a touching moment to see our cheerful Dr. Pal get emotional. So heartbreaking to hear about his personal losses. May God bless his family. Kudos to the way of questioning by Raj Shamani. He is extremely serious about what he takes up and that’s good. Would love to see more such talks related to health.

  • Thanks Raj for this really really informative podcast. Thanks Dr. Pal for sharing loads of information in this podcast. And the last part was the testimony of "why our ancestors did horoscope matching during marriage to avoid marriage in same Gotra. This way they could avoid marrage in same lineage and same gene pool". You have got it proved through modern-day science.
