Today we are hitting the river spillway for some multi species action on double jig rigs! This is our favorite way to fish and what we think is the easiest way to catch a bunch of fish and a wide variety of species! It's interesting to watch how the fish turn on when it gets dark! Follow along to see how it all goes down! We hope you enjoy this episode, if so, hit the LIKE button and SUBSCRIBE for so much more! Thanks and we will see you on the next one!

  • When we were young and crazy in the seventies we’d camp at Drummond island and fish for channel cats all night( great eating from Lake Huron) keep eaters and have them for breakfast with taters and scrambled eggs. Then go fish all day for pike, walleye, smallmouth, perch don’t know how we’d stay awake!!! Too old to do it now😵‍💫

  • Cole awesome video buddy for sure!!! I definitely would have loved seeing how you decided to fix those walleyes or saguaros up!!! I’m not sure that I have seen you cook them up before!!! I was definitely hoping that you would try weeding threw all the smaller ones and end up getting some bigger ones to get your limits of them!!! Definitely an awesome day out fishing for you though!!!!

  • Used to icefish at night for crappie, they would bite good right at dark then again in an hour or two sometimes all night. We had pretty large wooden shanty and propane for lights (lanterns) and for cooking etc. Was the good ol days and we caught a lot of fish 👍

  • Next time you're at any river or pond doing some crappie fishing, try using an unweighted cigar float along with a single or double jig rig...preferably using (2) 1/32 or a combination 1/16 1/32 The 3 inch floats work best and should lay flat on top of the water. Twitch it periodically and when it flips, set the hook. This is what we call "flat-cork" fishing here in MS and it's extremely deadly and productive. For even more sensitivity, only connect the bottom of cork to your line but wrap it about 2-3 times so it won't move up/down the line easily so you can maintain that strike zone depth. Let me know what you think of it, I absolutely love it and never go crappie fishing without using this setup.

  • IDK, I'm in Minnesota. People here love walleye/sauger. IMHO I would much rather eat crappies, bluegill, yellow perch or smallies. I think people like walleye because they are easy to clean but they just don't have much flavor. Great for people who don't really like fish.

  • That lock is a little far from my house. Would you expect the other locks further downstream to have similar results?

    @jacobfelton6948@jacobfelton6948Ай бұрын
    • Yes, sauger bite is probably fizzling out but every lock depending on water level is going to produce something right now.
