The SPRING SLABS Were LOADED in these FLOODED WOODS! Insane CATCH and COOK!

2023 ж. 29 Нау.
101 928 Рет қаралды

Today we are fishing in some flooded woods for some spring slabs! Every year crappie will move up shallow to spawn and sometimes they can get in some really hard to reach spots. In this scenario, the best way for us to access them is to put on a pair of waders and trudge through the water to get to their hidey-holes! Follow along to see how all of this plays out and how we cook them up for supper! Thanks so much for watching and we will see you on the next one!

  • Tfal fryer's are know to have thermostat issues, they stick wide open and continue to heat the oil, instead of cycling off and on like they're supposed to. Plus too when you using a small fryer like that the oil has to be filtered after every use, because the cornmeal batter build's up in the bottom around the element and causes the oil to superheat, which can cause a fire. Their expensive but the Bayou Classic fryer eliminates all the heating issues because the heating chamber is in the middle of oil not in the bottom. So all the cornmeal batter falls past the heating chamber into the bottom where it doesn't interfere with keeping oil right at 375. I cooked 61 pieces of crappie and 3lbs of fries and 2lbs of hushpuppies Fri evening after the tornadoes in twenty minutes. We was trying to celebrate two birthday parties.

  • Hi guys! Need help! I live in Baltimore Maryland and 100% of the time fish the chesapeake bay and brackish waters near me. I bank fish and fish from 1 of my boats. This past winter beginning in October I wanted to try catching yellow perch, crappie and bluegill. I have bought tons of tackle; lures , rods, etc for catching these. Including 2 kayaks. I have been to nearly every fresh water pond, lake and stream. I haven't caught anything but a BUNCH OF LARGEMOUTH! Great to catch something... but not what I'm after. I have ALL SIZES AND COLORS OF LURES AND BAIT. I vertical jig, I bounce drag the bottom, I bobber/float them also at different depths. Nothing. Not even a nibble. I even bought a castable sonar and underwater camera to see if I was fishing a ghost town. I wasn't! Fish EVERYWHERE I have throw a line. What am I doing wrong? Or is it just luck. I fished next to 5 guys and we fished same little deep hole with same baits. They limited out on crappie, bluegill, and yellow perch. I had to seek help and out of all the vids I watched u huys seem natural with it! Please help.

  • There's a spot on Lake Lavon near the power plant where there's a lot of flooded trees and brush that, if you're wading with a good crappie jig, you can really sack 'em up in the spring. The best producing areas will be less than 4' deep. You might even catch a cat on that crappie jig. 😊 Just after crossing the bridge over the slough creek, there's an old cemetery on the right that borders the lake. Go to the back area there and load up.

  • Glad to see grannie again. Her and Jay together are delightful. Wading for Crappie is a good idea. I'll definitely have to give it a go. Overall, a very fun and exciting day. The Catfish was an added bonus. 👍👍👍 Love the catch and cook videos. Real sorry about the Deep Frier. It's almost like it got a mind of its own. Hopefully it's just something very easy to fix. Maybe a control switch or temperature sensor. I'd Rather 20-30 on a part and fix it myself vs spending about 300 for another deep frier.

  • Unique fishing trip for sure. I know those crappie will get shallow during spawn. This would be fun to do . Just not alone . Anytime. You use waders you always need to have someone else with you. Especially if wading swampy mud lands. My brother had friend back in late 90’s that went duck hunting by hisself and stepped in sink hole. They looked for him for days and finally found his hand barely sticking above water grabbing a limb. He was only 23. So sad! I’ve never cooked whole crappie. Although I do cook rainbow trout like this in the skillet. It’s delicious. It’s always good to have company and eat fish I try to do it at least once a month or two and have family over . Great times! Sad to see Jay not able to go but we all understand why she’s unable. It will so be worth it all once the baby gets here! God Bless from western Ky 👋
