  • I hope you realize how much those of us who don't get to fish nearly as much as we would like live vicariously through your videos. And your explanations of technique are, to use your words, "second to none". Thanks again Richard

  • Thank you, Richard, for another great fishin trip. Ain't nothing better than live bait, and watching that cork go under. There is one thing better, taking a kid or grandkids and watching them do it. God blessed you with the knowledge to fish, and better, with the ability to teach and pass on that knowledge. God bless ya'll for all you do for us. Ya'll stay safe out on the water.

I hope you share some more of your technique in some more videos. If you teach a man to fish you can feed him for life. God bless you!

  • This guy has the passion for crappies my dad had... I remember being 10 years old and watching him hook a 4# crappie, then a 3.25# crappie back to back... The 2 biggest crappies I've ever seen in my life... I learned about catch and release that day... Which there wasn't much of in the early 80's... It was just catching on with bass fishing, at that time.

  • For fishing deeper, I like the little rubber football bobber stops. They till hang up on the cast, but not as much as the string knots. As long as the line is wet, they can be slid up and down the line, if need be. They come on a kind of wire spider, where the legs have a loop the you pass the line through and pull the footbal off the wire onto the line. And they come in different sizes for different weight lines. Thanks for the video. Very informative and fun to watch.

  • I’ve always loved watching you reel in the crappie I like how you lower your drag and enjoy the fight. So many “fishermen” nowadays just tighten the drag and reel them in. In my opinion that’s not what fishing is about it’s about enjoying your time. You want to feel the fight and live in the moment not just try to crank the fish in as fast as you can I’m almost 21 years old and I’ve learned a tremendous amount of knowledge about fishing from you Richard tight lines thank you

  • Those tube knots and the little rubber stops will hang up on the eyelets and have you fishing a totally different depth than you think you’re fishing and thinking the bite has shut off. If I’m slip corking then I’ve got a jig bouncing somewhere to hone me in on depth. This time of year around where I fish in the afternoon until around 5 the fish are 8-12 feet deep then they come up to 2-6 feet deep all night and as the day breaks again they’ll be down 8-12. When I flip my door up in the middle of the pier and fish the center of the 24x22 dock I’ll catch some around 2-4 feet deep in the middle of the day. Love catching them crappies, love em love em love em. Ain’t another fish that compares to crappies, not even close. Catfish run second but it’s not a close second
