Woodturning - In this video, I use leftover resin pieces to make this very unique bowl set. This is the first time I've use the concentrated pigments from Designer Epoxy and it worked awesome! Please like, comment and share with your friends, thanks!

Jim, remember the “lemon platter? “. I would love to see you take a sledge to a chunk of deep red resin. (no sanding) add assorted sizes of wood. Poured with lightly tinted resin. I’ve been wondering what you were going to do with strips of resin. I knew it would be good, you didn’t disappoint. Thank you.
I will do more projects like this in the future. Thanks
Using white was a good decision. I really like it. The inside has more color than the outside
Thank you very much!
It is difficult to not want to make those cereal bowls, perfect for easy Sunday morning smiles. Thanks Jim
Glad you like them! Thanks
I'M GOING TO MAKE THIS A SHORT COMMENT SO HERE I GO THE SET OF BOWLS WERE FABULOUS GREAT JOB TURNING THEM WELL TAKE CARE AND STAY SAFE YOU AND YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS HAVE A AWESOME DAY AND PEACE BE WITH YOU ALL AND KEEP THE WOOD CHIPS FLYING AND UNTIL THE NEXT VIDEO I LOVE ALL YOUR WOOD TURNING ITS FANTASTIC BY FOR NOW

Lyrical, and playful, dainty and dancing! I love it, Jim!
Thanks, if your interested, this set is still available. Thanks
Love how each one is so different -so pretty
Me too, thanks
Such a fun piece! Love that you used what would otherwise be trash. It really does look like Grandma's candy dish 😊
Thanks so much! 😊
What an awesome set, kind of reminds me of abstract art. So cool, and great job
Thank you very much!
I love the little blue bird flying.
Thanks
Oh my goodness! What a fantastic turn out of all the bowls in that set! Talk about cool, these bowls are awesome! The shine on them is perfect! You are so creative, it just doesn’t stop! You have an amazing talent! Fantastic job! Bravo!
Thanks so much!
Love that candy in the frosting. Very nice bowl set. Moon pie did a left over resin bowl also, I like them both. Good job men.😎👍👍👍👍🤓
Thanks Mike!
Love the kids theme with the colors and the name "Candy" just fits right into the theme
Thanks!
white and rainbow, i love it
Thank you very much!
Really fun bowls. Very nice!!
Thank you very much!
Candy dish. Nice job
Thank you 😋
I really like this set. The smallest bowl not as much but like you always say everything is a learning experience. This is why I like watching you you show your mistakes. I don't mind longer videos because of this.
Thank you very much
I was dubious at first, but ended up really loving it! Great project to watch a lump o white turned into something so beautiful and cheerful.
Thanks 😊
Very cute set! I love the whimsical bright colors. Serving dishes for a party! I love them a lot.
Thank you! 🤗
I like this present format as it gets done so much faster and adds to our enjoyment. Thanks for such enjoyment.
Thanks for watching!
I like the quieter videos. This is a fun project- very colorful & I like that.
Thanks 😊
These candy bowls are impressive Jim. I am so enjoying looking back at your earlier projects.
Thanks, still kind of amazed I still have this set. Jim
Very nice. No other color background would have done it justice. The white makes everything pop! Lovely!
That’s exactly what I thought too, thanks 😊
A gift for any time of the year
Totally, thanks for watching!
Very cool, love the surprise you get when you throw a bunch of coloured pieces together!!!
Totally! Thanks
Very cool looking bowl set! Your wife nailed it as looking like hard candy!
Agreed, thanks
Turned out gorgeous!
Thank you very much!
Another nice set. I can totally appreciate plateauing at a point and things not having the same enjoyment as they once did. I'm glad ur on the other side of that now... Who knows what the future will bring. Ur right about endless possibilities with that resin and the infinite options you have with it.
It was becoming straight up mundane for me! The resin is awesome! Thanks
Awesome project, Jim. Keeping Canada in my thoughts. 🇨🇦
Thanks I really appreciate!
I agree the candy bowls! They turned out great! Glad you save your unused resin!! Love these.❤
Thanks 😊
Very nice Jim. The use of existing waste products is always a challenge in that you really do not know how they are going to look when you finally finish the project. I have used the plastic polish myself on Corian pens and it does a fantastic job. The original use of the plastic polish was for plastic headlights on vehicles. I will be waiting for your next project. Take care and stay safe.
Dealing with the waste products are always a challenge. Thanks for watching!
Very Retro and FUN - thanks
Thanks 😊
I thought of “Confetti Crayons” looking at the patterns in the two larger bowls. As for the little one, it’s for the experience. Glue two little google eyes on it with white glue and arrange it to be unobtrusively peeping on your table at the festival. Heh. The white really makes the colors pop more than almost any other color one could pick. Absolutely great.
Thanks!
Hi Jim, beautiful set.
Thanks 😊
That’s a great bowl set! Very retro. The middle sized bowl is my favorite! Great way to utilize all of the extra resin left over from other pours. I especially like the sheets of resin that were poured out on plastic; makes for very interesting designs. The engraver for the bottom was a great idea. Please try filling the engraving with black resin next time, just to see how it turns out.
I’ll make another set with the sheets of resin in the future, I prefer them over the resin bars. Thanks 😊
So much good information about how to prep the resin prior to putting it all together in such an innovative way. Thanks.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks
Now your the candy man, nice Bowl I love it.
Thanks 👍
This project turned out beautiful! Astounding! Great experiment.
Thanks 😊
The shot at the end with the nested bowls was very cool. Look nice in a china cabinet. Look forward to Friday morning to see what you worked up. I am still amazed by what the natural wood has to offer as I turn bowls. I do enjoy watching your resin work. I was watching another artist cut burl blanks and she said she had to watch a Jim Sprague video two or three times to get it right. Real tribute to you that other artists are using you as a reference.
It’s humbling to hear other turners refer to me in this manner! Thanks
The choice of white was excellent. But I wonder how it would have looked with black instead. Just as pretty, I bet! A very inspiring video.
I don’t think it would of popped as nicely, but ya never know, lol. Thanks
Дуже гарно , Джим ! Молодець !!! Обожнюю все яскраве та кольорове ! 👍👍👍💛💛💛💙💙💙
Thanks! I really appreciate it!
Soooo pretty ❤❤❤❤
Thank you very much!
The variety of your work is quite amazing! Absolutely love the candy set! Seen a year after you did it didn't hurt the joy!😊
Thanks so much! 😊
Love the bright colors against the white, very nice!
Thanks 😊
It reminds me of Christmas and birthday papers and all sweetie wrappings
Agreed, thanks 😊
Wow! They are so unique and beautiful. I think the middle-sized one is my favorite; it looks like pencils are laying in the bottom.
Thanks 🙏
Love this bowl set. Great way to utilize the resin cutoffs.
Thanks 🙏
I love the little blue bird flying (towards the centre). I think you should do another one and seal it in clear epoxy so you can compare the two finishes.
Thanks 😊
Beautiful candy bowl Jim.
Thanks 🙏
Beautiful! As always.
Thanks 🙏
Such a BEAUTIFUL bowl, Jim!! 😃 I love those candy stripes in it!! 😃 It makes me think of those great big lollipops!! 😃 I love it!! 😃
Thanks 😊
@@SpragueWoodturning You're VERY welcome, Jim!! 😃
Absolutely love this project! Great idea!
Thanks so much!
Looks awesome Jim look forward to seeing what you do next!
Thanks 🙏
These candy dishes are super! The white went fine. Reminds me of end of day at the glass factory, when the glass blowers played around with leftovers and made some pretty cool one-of-a-kind stuff.
That would of been fun to do. If I wasn’t a woodturner, I would be a glass blower. Thanks
From scrap to beauty, a bowl for the ages, for which your customers will spend their wages. With candy like colors you can almost taste it, a great use of resin, I’m glad you didn’t waste it. Sorry I couldn’t resist. Very cool bowl set.
Very witty, lol. Thanks
This was really lovely. Definitely a bit like sweets
Thank you so much!
The bowls turned out really nice another great video thank you
Thanks for watching!
Jim, these bowls are absolutely beautiful. They are s cute.
Thanks 😊
I wasn't sure, when you started, that I would like the end result. The bowls turned out great! I think the middle bowl turned out the best!
Thanks 😊
I like it Jim, couldn't agree with you more about using resin to help keep the creative juices flowing. If it just wasn't so messy and of course expensive! Stay well and thanks for the inspiration as always.
Thanks for watching!
pretty bowl set and nice to see an upcycle for left over resin!
Thanks 😊
Very cool way to use resin scraps! Love all the different colors! 😊
Thanks!
Great work Jim!
Thanks 🙏
Well, I admit that when I first saw these bowls, I wasn't a particular fan. However, that changed as I saw how the stacked pieces, and random pieces, complemented each other! I do like the concept, as nothing is wasted. Good on you! Well done, and may you always be inspired by nature and colour.
Thanks 😊
Nice + very different
Thanks a lot!
Very cool Jim. Very whimsical!
Thanks 🙏
Totally awesome
Thank you very much!
I love colors, so naturally, I love this and think the name is very suiting
Thanks 🙏
I’m always inspired by your artistic work.
Thanks 🙏
Love the candy bowls love all the colors so cool
Thanks for watching
The biggest core turned out amazing 👏
Thanks 🙏
Looking good Jim. 👍.
Thanks Dave!
Really cool idea and set! Great way to use up scraps and extra resin! Thanks
Thanks for watching!
Great candy bowls. I am glad you are getting into a new outlet for your creativity in resin. I enjoyed your other work so much (and you are still inlay Jim to me) but it is fun to see the experimentation you are doing now as well. My wife is anti-resin, but I see room for it in turning.
Totally, the resin allows people to work with pieces that otherwise would be firewood, thanks!
Confetti bowl and the ribbons of color are great 👍 Project idea - consider using the turquoise and copper powders
The Turquoise might of worked but the copper powder would of sunk to the bottom of the casting. I also wanted this to be an all resin piece so that’s why I didn’t add anything else. Thanks 🙏
@@SpragueWoodturning Agree with all resin project. I started a new paragraph as a new project idea, I’m still interested in the look of turquoise and copper. If not copper filings, your twisted two strand wire
just found this video and I first thought you were using real candy, it really looks like it. again you didn't disappoint and did a real good job. keep up the great work
Thank you! Cheers!
Really good job and I love the color contrast of the different pieces...
Thanks 🙏
Beautiful set of bowls
Thanks Molly!
so cute! I love these scrap bowls.
Thanks 😊
Like the white, a lot. And all the color is a great look. A fine work of art sir, fantastic choice of a base color. Would like to see the white in a wood piece.🌿 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I have some walnut pieces coming up in the future. The white would be nice with them. Thanks
Very nice. I think you are a Master at your craft. Good job . Can't wait to see your next project. Happy weekend
Thanks 😊

Great! Thanks!

Thanks for watching!
Good job jim, so its all about creativity and use the other side of the brain. Again you nailed it and inspired other people. Ernie smith from brisbane Australia.
Thanks Ernie!
