I feel sad for Porter. He's such a nice gentleman. He always gives a good performance of himself in and out of the ring. I give a lot of credit to his father. Well done for raising such a wonderful, warm hearted and lovely person. I'm sad to see Porter retire because he's such an exciting fighter. But then again, I'm happy that he is retiring with all his senses intact. Well done to Crawford, what a fighter.
To be fair to Porter, he's retiring to become the GOAT at commentary. In a decades time, Showtime Shawn is going to be the top rated colour commentator, for sure.
Hey i understand where you're coming from, the man has been in 4 good close fights with top champions. I thought he was good but Crawford just a lil better bit extra power, his father sensed that even should he recover, he wasn't gonna win the fight on the cards so why unnecessary punishment, he can fight always another day.. Thankfully he's been a 2time champion and is 4-4 in 8world title fights himself n that ain't too shabby.. so at least unlike poor Rocky Juarez 6 attempts inc draws, split decisions n still never won the big one...
Tbh i don't see why porter would retire, bud will likely move to 154 because the spence doesn't seem to be coming off unfortunately, porter can beat ugas n the rest of them n his fight with spence, was so close there should have been a rematch, it was a great fight n I'd happily like to see it again, unless bud n spence get themselves together..
I'm happy for him...I'm always rootin' for Shawn Porter, but Bud reminds me of Sweet Pea with his ability to roll with the punches, change direction and 'get on him'. He might be better than Sweet Pea...we'll never know.

46:52 Crawford is asking someone at ringside the scorecards. He think he's ahead, only to be told he's down a round. He's upset and tells his trainer. He then proceed to go out and finish the fight in the very next round. Wow. The guy is a beast.
He was up on all scorecards, his team probably told him he was down to get him to take it to porter.

As I watched live after Rd 9 I could see Crawford looking at someone ringside, seemed he was being told Porter was up. Now I see the replay I think it was Bradley. Crawford nods his head, goes out for Rd 10 and ends it. The guy is absolutely brilliant.

Porter is a true warrior, just look how he punched the canvas while he was down the second time, he came up with fire in his eyes. I'm so glad his father stopped him tbh, he could've gotten serious damage by throwing himself into the fire with Bud while being hurt. Terence is a fierce finisher. His father probably didn't want Shawn to take potentially permanent damage in his last fight.
I dont like the stoppage. As many others didnt. But I totally understand why daddy stopped the fight. He is so in control of porters life, daddy porter a controlfreak. Im not sure crawford would stop shawn, he really wanted to fight and it could easily gone to UD, or a referee stoppage at round 11 or 12. Porter has a underrated chin, and a big heart.

Shawn porter is the man. His blitzing style is so entertaining. I’d way rather watch Porter lunge in head first, swinging bombs, than watch a defensive safe fighter like a Mayweather.
Porter showed pure class in defeat to a great, even when the adrenaline was pumping didn’t dare disrespect his father for throwing in the towel when he wanted to fight. Remarkable man.

This was hands down the best fight I've watched in the last few years. Mad respect to Crawford as always, never watched Porter I don't think but respect to him too, he's pretty incredible, reminds me a little of Mike Tyson with the way he moves.

@@Carrot_Handler Nah. It was okay but it wasn't amazing. It was obvious from round 1 who was going to win. Wilder looked finished in that fight an it was a little tragic for me. They should have left it at 2 imo and Wilder shouldn't have taken the fight. I guess he did for the money. So that fight wasn't that entertaining for me in that regard. If you said fight 2 then maybe I'd agree. This fight on the other hand was class. Respect to both fighters in this. The energy and skill between the both of them was awesome.

Crawford is my p4p fighter, but this fight was not the best fight of the last couple of years. The level of determination and heart Fury and Wilder showed in their 3rd fight is unrivaled. Skill isn't everything that makes a fight, it makes a fighter sure but not a fight Heart beats all.

Commentators had no ideas how much the fight had swung from round 6 on. Crawford was in total control. I still think he is underrated. Spence can’t admit to himself that Crawfords intelligence had him dealing with porter more incisively than he did.

Porter is a better athlete than spence so he had joy that alot of other fighters won't have, he still struggled alot though because he's not as Rounded, Crawford is the only WW he'd struggle with like this, Porter outside of Thurman is probably the only WW who could have success in the way he did in this fight. Spence is Good against inside fighters not guys who can fight backwards with Good and Fast Feet.

Awful stoppage by his corner, biggest fight left of Porter’s career you shouldn’t stop the fight when it was so close. He got up with steady legs, if he got knocked down again then fair enough but no way should’ve it been stopped.

They told him the fight might be close,so he needed to step up. He said it in the post fight press conference. Crawford will stop Spence 100% in 11 rounds!
