      @sj4632@sj46325 жыл бұрын
    • @@sj4632 The dude comes from being injured months and he plays like this against the best player in the world. The same happened on the 2016 olympics when he defeated Djoko and Nadal. I know Andy now has a serious injury but at least he could play 10 consecutive years on a high level. Delpo since 2010 when he was ranked number 4 after winning us open never played 2 consecutive years without an injury.

      @rodrigom7185@rodrigom71855 жыл бұрын
    • @@rodrigom7185 Exactly. It's a damn shame what injuries have done to him. I definitely think he would've had at-least 4 or 5 grand slams. And imagine what he would've accomplished if Nadal and Djokovic weren't around in this era? 10+ grand slams for sure. But the #1 thing I like about Delpo is his personality, he's a gentle giant. Guy is such a nice person and an example to all the other players on tour. It's easy to root for him.

      @sj4632@sj46325 жыл бұрын
    • With all due respect to Potro, saying what would be if he had less injuries, is the same as if you were saying, what would be if someone else was stronger, higher or faster. They are not, and they are the way they are. And same goes with Potro. He is probably more prone to injuries. The intensity of effort he puts into tennis affect his body that way. But if he hadn’t been putting in that amount of effort, he wouldn’t be among ten probably.

  • That dropshot on matchpoint was incredible from Nole. What a save. Once he won the second set we all knew it was over. The final would be incredible; I dont see Diego Schwartzman beat Djokovic, so in ether cases it would be a remake of Madrid's final or a classic between the two that we all know. Roland Garros would be fantastic. The winner of this tournament would take a mental advantage but still, all of them (Tsitsipas, Rafa, Novak) have shown already that they're in shape for the grand slam in Paris. Can't wait for it, love this sport, may the best win.

  • Am I the only who thinks that Novak's playing style in Rome is way more aggressive than before, especially against Philipp Kohlschreiber. It's been a while that I haven't seen that in form Novak. I remembered when I used to watch him in 2007.

    @yousifnajat6883@yousifnajat68835 жыл бұрын
    • I would say he was more aggressive in 2015. Last year when he came back into form at Wimbledon, you could see that he was really trying to keep points quicker where he could. It's a good strategy. And he always has defence he can fall back on if he isn't feeling the ball (like in the first set against Delpo where he missed a lot of forehands).

      @andrewmark2783@andrewmark27835 жыл бұрын
    • Kohlschreiber played that mach way below his ability, so Nole could allow himself a lot of uncharacteristic aggression. You might have a point, it's just that the given example is somewhat random.

  • The more that the crowd is against Novak, the more determined he is to silence the crowd. The crowd is just feeding his determination to defeat who they are cheering on. The other players had the advantage of crowd support to boost their confidence. Novak does not need that. It only shows his mental strength and sheer determination.

  • With knee injuries in past, difficult to go fast near net but still tried to go there... What a man... Del potro Novak used so much dropshot for his rescue but can't take credit that he played brilliantly. That is why Federer never revealed his injury. Rafa is also in good form.... Love to see rafa vs djokernole in final But rafa has to overcome tsitsipas ... Personally I smell blood on rafa... He is going to destroy tsitsipas He is playing on different level altogether to show who is king of clay.

  • Del Potro from the knee injury in October, made four games, before Roma, three in Delray Beach (February) and one in Madrid. They show a great evolution in Rome, playing with much more confidence. It made a huge game against Novak, it was a great game of tennis, but to fail that tie break will take sleep to Delpo, who defends the final socks in Roland Garros. Delpo was very saddened to lose this game.

  • And this is why Djokovic has his H2H against Federer. The greatest mentality in this sport. Federer is the most complete player of all time but i dont know man, if Djokovic pass his biggest records hes gonna be the GOAT. i dont agree with Kyrgios' typa comments. I'd like to see Fed 2004-2007 against Djoker 2011-2015-2018/19 as much as i'd like to see Floyd-Ali face to face. just so sad about that aint happening. What would you think ? greatest mentally player against the most complete one.
