You know a match is good when Roland Garros puts 6 minute highlights.
And they didn't even include the best point; the one in the third where Nadal hit the tape and the ball clipped the line.
Haha yeah it was a good match I must say.. even though I am a Rafa fan..

Hahahah, true!
Completely right!!!!
Did anyone notice that he was down 0-2 in fourth set, and then won 6 games in a row... against Nadal... on clay!
indeed, not even an oracle would have bet on that occurring!
I'm a fan of Novak, but something didn't seem right at that point, like Rafa's legs were done
@@Zeroleon Yes, It was like Rafa had given up. He started struggling with his foot and his serves weren’t right.
That was because Nadal had been toasted at the point of the match, he could Barely move.
Mike Ali it’s because Nadal is old and 35. He doesn’t have the stamina of leg speed of when he was 25 or even 30. He’s losing most best of 5 sets. Look at him at the Australian open. He doesn’t have the legs anymore. Father Time has caught him and I imagine he will retire after 2022 when he is slamless again
From being 5:0 down in the first set to win 3:1 against greatest clay court play ever. Djokovic is extraordinary.
0:5 bro reverse means he won the set
@Gaurav Sharma he said 5:0 down, is your brain incapable of making the connection?
Djokovic starting the match with losing 5 games in a row and finishing it with winning 6 games in a row? At the French Open Semifinal against Nadal? Unbelievable!
Also 0-2 down in the 4th. winning the 4th set is not something federer or wawrinka would have managed to do.

Being 0-5 down against literally the owner of Roland Garros and winning in four sets is the best thing ever!!! *Djokovic's mental strength is just so so immense!!!*
He gets that mental strength from Bosnian pyramids located in a small town called "Visoko". Not to many people know about this place cause mainstream media doesn't want to advertise and promote it, even here in Bosnia our biggest media make fun and ridicule this place and the guy who found it, but when Djokovic comes here, all these pathetic journalists who previously mocked Bosnian pyramids arrive to this place to interview Novak. Great match....but I think to be considered "one of the best" it has to be a five-setter.
@@fishbone3333 one of the best matches because it was a grand slams semifinal between Nole and Nadal in 4 sets that was decided in thrilling 3rd set tie break.. You need to reconsider your parameters.. jeez.
@@Femaqui07 To the contrary, to be "one of the best" ever should have to be a five-setter is quite a legitimate parameter. After going down 5-0 in the first set, Djokovic won 22 out of the next 34 games the rest of the way. If this match was "once of the best" Nadal would have recovered from the 3rd set tiebreaker and forced a fifth set. He failed to do so because he was thoroughly outplayed by an opponent who would not be denied. I think once Nadal lost the 3rd set tiebreak, he gave up. Sheesh...there are countless five-setters in grand slam history that rank way ahead of this one.
@@fishbone3333 what a weird concept of a 'great match' you have.. and also: you don't get the concept of 'on of the best' there could be 100' of matches greater than this but you can call this one as I stated first..
@@Femaqui07 Sorry, bro...the tension and suspense of a high-stakes five-setter in a Slam is tough to top, particularly in the semis or the final. I suspect that you are placing this match up as "one of the best" because it was Djokovic vs Nadal. If it was two other players in a Slam semifinal, you would not be saying that this was "one of the best". Sure, there was a lot at stake, but there always is a lot at stake at the Slams. Did people anticipate what a young Federer would become when he vanquished Sampras in five sets in the 2001 Wimbledon? Maybe...maybe not, but it was clearly "one of the best" Slam matches ever. Can I ask you, would you put this Djokovic/Nadal match, which was a French semi, over the Courier/Agassi 1991 final in Paris? That one was 3-6, 6-4, 2-6, 6-1, 6-4 with Courier prevailing over the heavily favored Andre. ...or is your data set of "one of the best" only include the last ten to fifteen years of Slam matches?
Novak is just a monster. He punished Nadal’s backhand.
From the 2nd round Nadal was playing badly. .. it was obvious that he was going to win, even tsitsipas would have won him, not to mention Thiem that would have won him in 3 sets if he had been playing like 2019 since a set won against nadal, the same as nothing was going to be For Nadal this RG, can you imagine if it had been the final instead of tsitsipas it would have been Thiem, already there it would be difficult for djokovic to win, that puts guns, there we would be worried but hey things turned out like this and it's fine, good for us

Going toe to toe with Rafa at RG and coming away with the win -- especially that third set -- you have to tip your hat to the man. I don't envy Stefanos this weekend. And who's thinking that Djokovic might very well walk away with a true Grand Slam this year, and the all-time Slam record? Djokovic plays such an intelligent game. He pulls out the incredible when needed, but stays true to the fundamentals at all time. Only flashy when absolutely needed, and can be so at will. His talent is indeed one for the ages.
Fundementally he is the closest thing to perfection that tennis has ever seen. If he is playing at 100 he beats everyone.
Perfectly described my friend!
That about explains Djokovic's game as perfectly as it gets.
Yeah, he plays points how they are logically best played. His ability to do that under pressure is just phenomenal.
Tennis at maximum level. NoVac is simply the GOAT
No Rafa is the Goat. Thrashed fakovic
@@adithyanaren519 ONLY ONCE AND ON CLAY, LET THEM MEET ON GRASS OR US OPEN, NOVAK WILL END HIS CAREER THERE....
Great match. The greatest rivalry of tennis always delivers. Well done, Djokovic
The guy break the dominance of nadal in clay ..what a remarkable achievement. What a champion Challenger GOAT
A lot of respect for Djokovic. He not only has to battle it out with his opponent but generally the crowd also. It's truly amazing how he manages to keep his composure. But it was disciplined performance.
That’s German tennis school ( high discipline)
@@goranbrailovic5755 That’s German tennis school..hahah And their representative today is Russian kid
GREAT POINT! Interestingly, he is such a phenomenal athlete, that he's found a way to thrive off of it.
lol the crowd were literally cheering for him what are you talking about?
Djokovic is the best player in the history. Facts prove that. Djokovic has the most weeks as number 1. Djokovic soon has the most slams. Djokovic leads the total h2h vs nadal. Djokovic leads the total h2h vs Federer. Djokovic leads the h2h vs Federer in slams. BUT Nadal leads the h2h vs djokovic in slams (10-7). But it doesn't matter that nadal leads the h2h vs djokovic in slams, since djokovic has the most weeks as #1, and djokovic soon has the most slams, and djokovic leads the total h2h vs Nadal.
Two amazing GREAT GREAT GREAT players. I could watch this forever!
I grow up watching tennis 🎾 I love the sport Fed and Agassi Sampras Hewitt amd so on Fed was my favorite player Until Novak came about and then it’s over Still love those players but Novak is my hero champion goat 🐐 respect ✊ U work very hard and deserve everything
Novak Djokovic is the only player all time to have collected at least 6 finals in all 4 Slams
And the only player to have won each of the 4 Grand Slams at least twice in the Open Era, as well as held all 4 Majors at the same time in this same Era!
You mean reached not collected. He would have 24 if he collected all of those. He is likely to be the all time leader of titles eventually.
And has chance to get all slams in one year ,rod did it
@@streladei7501 - He had the same chance in 2016 after he won his maiden French Open & held all 4 GS titles simultaneously (although not within the same calendar year!), and we all saw what happened when he tried to continue this ULTIMATE PURSUIT at Wimbledon! As much as it may seem that Nole is Superhuman, and hence nothing he sets his sights on is impossible to achieve: the reality is at some stage over the next few weeks that unprecedented effort he needed to put in to beat Musetti; Berrettini; Nadal, and Tsitsipas in 4 days (15 & a half hours in total!) is highly likely to catch up with him either at Wimbledon (again), or at The US Open - particularly given the addition of The Olympics between the Slams in question! If Nole was to somehow pull off that MOTHER OF ALL TENNIS FEATS, and achieve a Calendar Grand Slam, then this for me would rank as not only the greatest achievement in Tennis, but also one of the very greatest in Sport, and end the argument as to who is THE GOAT without question!!!
That 3rd set was incredible!! Hats off to both players!! Wow what a time to be alive.
Since 2011 Novak won 19 GS titles and Federer and Nadal 15 GS titles combined!

The best match of 2021 Roland Garros right here.
One of the best matches ever. Big Djokovic fan but Rafa you’re an absolute legend. And Nole I have no words for you. You just completed the biggest challenge in tennis
I have no words after what just happened. That third set and those 5-4, 5-5 and 5-6 games have got to be some of the most intense games in the history of our sport. Djokovic did what we all thought was impossible: beat an inform Nadal at the French Open. Doing this after that slaughtering in last years finals and starting 0-5 in this match, is a testament to Djokovic's mental fortitude and inner belief. He even said prior to this match that he can beat Nadal.
Biggest challenge in tennis?that's not factual , biggest challenge in any sport what so ever!!!
Overreaction, it was agreat third set, the other 3 were good but not inside the best ever category. I hate when people do this.... Happened the same in that Wimbly 2019 Final, worst Big 3 Ive seen in the last 5 years....
Nah it was one of the best matches ever except for that Wimbledon final with nadal and Federer a while back
@@Coolproducts44 No way it was!!! I can think of at least 10 matches that are better in quality than this one (especially during the whole match) Wimbly 08 F, Wimbly 18 SF, USO 11 F, RG 11 SF, RG 13 SF, USO 13 F, AO 12 F, AO 17 SF (yes, that Grigor vs Rafa match was WAY BETTER than the final), AO 13 R4 (Epic Stan vs Nole), AO 09 SF and F, Wimbly 09 F, Wimbly 14 F. RECENCY BIAS!!!
From a Nadal fan congratulations Novak Djokovic well deserved win
Tem que respeitar o Djokovic, o melhor de todos os tempos 👏👏👏🏆
Never in my entire life have i ever seen a player learn from his own mistakes plus the mistakes of all the former opponents of his opponent, and adjust to that, devise a gameplan around that and execute it to perfection, like Novak did. Novak literally learned from the mistakes he had committed against Rafa at RG plus the mistakes all of Rafa's opponents over 15 years.
Rafa done the same ..That's why he defeated Djokovic in following year.. injuries are biggest rivals for Nadal more than djoko and federer in his entire career
calm down there, buddy. and, btw, CM Punk is a doofus, and you're a doofus for having him in your name....you fucken doofus

This was one of the best matches i've ever watched!! Well done djokovic from coming back from nearly being bageled
Tennis is first to 3 you know? So one bagel is just losing set nothing else. Doesnt matter if its 6-0 or 7-6. So it wasnt special cuz he lost that set after all.
@@velipulla3936 Getting bageled must be devastating from a psychological angle. I wouldn't know though.
Neither of them has been at their best. The two have had many failures.
Their 5 set 2013 french open match is easily better. This was just painful to watch at the end.
@@geo46 I don't know man, personally I'd take a quick bagel over losing 7-6 in a set that lasts 1,5 hour.
Its hard to find better match on clay!!!!! Probably ever best! Thank you guys!!!!!
One of the two most satisfying matches to watch, alongside Wimbledon 2019 final!!
Yeah 2020 and 2022 Roland Garros also satisfying matches
3rd set was fire - had it all - each breaking the other, then Nole serving for the set, getting broken - rafa breaking and getting a set point of his own, Nole somehow saving it and pushing the match to the tie break - just wow; Is easily one of the top 3 sets that I have ever seen !!!
Before the match "Nadal most probably wins." Nadal leads 5:0 "O boy here we go.." Novak wins 2nd set "That's probably the last set he won in this match." Novak leads 2:1 in sets "Go for the win Goatkovic i knew you have it in you." Novak wins *screams out of joy*
You mean Djokovic was serving for the set not the match for the third set but have to admit highest level of tennis so far this year

I am Greek too but I support Djokovic. Don't care about nationalities.

semifinal 2011 federer vs nole best match ever
I see your point but it still would be nice for him to get the trophy.
Styles make fights they say in boxing. Rafa is washed up at this point. No stamina either. Tsitsipas will return better, will hit deeper and more powerful forehands and backhands, won't be as tired as Nadal and most importantly he will serve MUCH BETTER than Nadal did today. Whoever thinks that Djokovic wins easily on Sunday, he/she is in for a shocker! Both Sverev and Tsitsipas would have beaten today's Nadal. Don't get too excited Nole's fans.
What a match! Hats off to both. One of the best matches I‘ve ever seen, both in very good form. Who would‘ve thought after the 0:5 in the first that Nole would turn this around. After this performance the Serbian deserves the title.
Great match! About time djocovid knocked out dopal😂😂
It is not about to deserve it. whoever wins will have to fight for it
I disagree - Rafa played today beneath his average - maany unforced errors and poor service - still credits Nole for making advantage of that cause the match won't win be itself - especially with Rafa on RG.
