    • The reality is that there's no goat. As Nole stated recently, "it's impossible to compare eras, but it's important to be in the GOAT conversation", that is mostly a fan base conversation. And these 3 guys DO belong to that conversation having dominated the last two decades, thanks also to a longevity that has never been seen before (just consider Borg retired with 11 GS titles at age 26!!!... unreal). While witnessing greatness, I hope new stars will soon emerge to challenge them.

Roger vs Rafa is like graceful matador vs raging bull Novak vs Roger is Variant attacker vs Defensive machine Novak vs Rafa is a slugfest between heavyweights All are great, its just matter of preference. There is no right or wrong answer when picking between these legends.

    @giggity2302@giggity23022 жыл бұрын
    • To summarise you analysis: 1. Roger is gracefull matador and variant attacker, 2. Rafa is ragging bull and slugish heavyweight, and 3. Nole is defensive machine and slugish heavyweight. It is not nice and not correct to call Rafa ragging bull when he is one of the most composed tennis players. It is not nice and not correct to dehumanize Novak and call him machine (or wall, or robot, or whatever media narrative was labeling him) when he is one of the most empathic and genuinly nice humans among tennis players. Comparing Rafa and Nole to slugish heavyweights is not possible as they are some of the best moving and most skilled tennis players and defenders. What Rafa and Nole have in addition to being good humans is strong hearts. Two lions they are.

And then this 2011 year comes and the ultimate Terminator year of tennis was shown by this 🃏 and again I thought never ever this would be repeated. And then 2015 and 2016 the same Terminator with upgraded software was entering the dance floor and collected all 4 GS at the same time. Anticipation is a key part of the game in addition to incredible footwork, speed, and an arsenal of strokes and both baseline and the net. Having a sense of where the opponent will tend to hit a particular shot back from your shot makes all the difference. It finally takes an incredible final shot to end such rallies. These are the moments worth witnessing! Brilliance shining as bright as a sun!

The natural evolution of players developing superior physicality and endurance is longer, more intense tennis. And it's not even that serve and volley doesn't exist anymore, it's just used much more sparingly and more tactically than prior. Overall, especially with the big three tennis is more exciting than ever before.
