The bit about the binoculars is a jab at world of tanks. In that game, you have to pay usually 500k credits to get a pair of binoculars to see farther and they only work when standing still. In war thunder they are free and you use them whenever you want because thats how a normal person uses binoculars

Unfortunately binoculars are completely different in World of Tanks. They just extend your spotting range, but it doesn't change the zooming in feature, so you still got 16x (I think it was that) zoom and no more
25x is the limit, you can remove 16x and 25x in the options so the max will be 8x if you want to 25x and 16x didn't exist about 2 years ago so veterans like to use 8x because they got used to it, i personally use both even though i played the game in 2014

Is that only with tanks? Or does that happen to ships, airplanes, etc as well? Does the resulting ignition cause the vehicle to explode as though a bomb had gone off, or does it basically just burn anything/anyone that was in the space where that air was? (I'm imagining the interior hull of an over penetrated ship looking like someone had a giant flamethrower firing constantly into that space for a minute or two, melting the metals/plastics until it looked like a Slavador Dali painting (melting clocks) in there .
It’s unfortunate that the press account doesn’t reveal what Warthunder is about. The amount of time and effort to get a simple Sherman with a little more armor than another Sherman can take a couple hours, and even days and weeks for mid tier vehicles.
@jpc1918 the grind is ridiculously hard even for me, you get slim rp later on and youre forced to get an useless tank for the next great tank in the tech tree so wasting sl and rp. Im good at this game (averaging for each game 5+ kills) and even in my sla 16, it stil took almost an year to unlock and buy the kpz. Im doing french and russian now both in tier 3 same in the americans. I stopped air rb since its just boring and a waste of time but i occasionally bring my bf 109 g-10 to rofl stomp enemy air. Also some things that makes grinding hell: - CAS - WW2 vs Cold War tanks - Constant Uptiering - Repair Costs - Getting RP all together - Losing SL for tanks and repairs - Stats of certain tanks (Arl (acl),CA Lorainne,Panther D,Etc) - Etc Now see why? Im fairly close to getting the Leo 2K and 2A4 and for the M18,IS-2,and actual Arl-44 in my game and ive played air rb for 2 years+ and Tank for atleast 11 Months. My way to get SL is using the Pak in uptier or the sla 16. Other than that, its harsh to get frequent SL and i literally only get around 1k till 3k (for germans, for others its only 1k never 2k). I can understand you but those reasons make grinding hell for certain teams. *Youre fucking lucky if youre playing brits or american*

Using blast delay .5 seconds, I managed to down two fighters in a bomber. Swooped down low, hugged it, and dropped my 4 500lbs loads. They followed my path far, far to closely. Had no idea at first until I turned around in turret view to see my explosions and their crippled planes in pieces falling to the mountainside.

I know a guy who was in a tank that had veen over penetrated. The tank was completely fine and none of the crew were hit, but everything was far from fine. The inside of the tank is pressurized so when the shell went through the pressure all went out. The guys face was pulled into the small hole damaging his face and got him a ticket home

There's also a biplane that can have 8 mounted rockets; if you use detonation time you can use them as mid-air explosive shotguns. Super stylish and great when outnumbered as they are essentially one shot.

The plane controls on controller are utter crap
To make it easier for us console peasants be sure to map the controls to your liking in the simplified section, I also recommend setting a keyboard for the little things that won't fit on a controller, manual engine control and such. You may not be able to match a PC players capability but you can significantly shorten the gap by doing this.

Arcade is better than realistic, this is why: - Faster paced - can't rip your wings - small amount of ammo = not that big a problem - way less repair cost - multiple chances - can revenge kill - can't destroy your engine from using wep too much The only thing that is better about realistic is the money and exp you might get if you're not killed.
You advance through the US fighter jet tech tree, once you reach the F-14 Tomcat you get two lines: One leading down and into the F-15 Eagle The other leads to the right, out of the US tech tree. You click on it, and find yourself in a new tree Named "Northrom" First unlock of the tree: VF-1 Valkyrie Last unlock on the tree: YF-19 Excalibur

Paying is by no means required. I know more than my fair share of players who are strictly Free 2 Play and have top tier vehicles

It can be really fun if you have a promo pack that gets you instant access to all the vehicles in the game. However, if you're not a famous KZheadr that got sponsored by them, you have to grind for weeks straight to get 10% progress to unlocking one of the seven vehicles you need to get to the one you actually want. Basically, grind is fucking insane, you have to spend half your life savings to unlock anything
This, its also an extremely janky game on consoles lmao
