    • Interestingly enough 0 dB + 0 dB = 3 dB. So everything is possible (if you use logarithmic scaling and do some trickery).

      @BlaBla-hq1bu@BlaBla-hq1bu4 жыл бұрын
    • @@BlaBla-hq1bu 1+2=12... is this the trickery? You are putting 1 and 2 to make 12...

      @PeeP5051@PeeP50514 жыл бұрын
    • @@PeeP5051 Nah, the trickery is setting the zero point for a value with an absolute zero point. Somewhat like temperatures, sound also has a minimum possible value, an absolute zero. But 0 dB does not describe that point, but the lowest point that can still be registered by the human ear. (For the mathematical example I will now switch to temperatures, as I do not fancy calculating everything in 10^-5 Pa and the logarithmic scale of dB and because temperature has a much easier conversion.) Temperature has an absolute zero at 0 K = -273.15 °C, but the zero point of Celsius lies at the freezing temperature of water. Therefore 0 °C + 0 °C = 273.15 K + 273.15 K = 237.15 °C. Sound works relativly similar, although the increasing mechanism is somewhat different. In sound you have two noises measured in dB that amplify each other and not one value getting increased. That's why 0 dB + 0 dB is absolutely perfect, although a bit unintuitive , while 0 °C + 0 °C is a bit sketchy. I hope, I could help and you gave not up halfway through this horrific text wall. Anyway have a nice day and never stop asking questions.

    • Aliens have been here for thousands and thousands of years, and they have been dominating or controlling or ruling the Earth for at least 150 years now. It's exactly them who have fabricated this insane debate, where two WRONG postulates stand as options. The Earth is neither spherical nor flat, and they know it very well. But at the same time they don't want us to know the real shape of the Earth, because it would automatically lead us to the understanding of the real shape of the Universe. And THAT could be dangerous for them. Imagine Columbus having been asked by the American Natives where he had come from. He could have told them that he was from "another Continent" across the Ocean. Or he could have told them that he was from "another world" that was up there, on one of those stars. This goes for ALL encounters between a primitive population and an advanced civilization. The primitives always wanted to know where an "alien" had come from. And we see so many drawings of "aliens in some flying devices", even many of those holy books report about such encounters. So it is obvious, what answer the "aliens" would give to the Humans about their origin. If they hadn't mentioned the stars, and if they hadn't have some flying devices to confirm their story, the Earthlings would have NEVER drawn pictures of "astronauts" or "space ships", but would have always talked about some lands "across the Sea" such as Atlantis. And guess what, there is ONLY ONE story about Atlantis - which is HERE, on the same Earth -, and HUNDREDS AND HUNDREDS of stories or drawings connected to the stars. So we can easily conclude that those "aliens" ONLY ONCE made the mistake of mentioning the Earth as the place of their origin, as a result of which there was a WAR between Atlantis and Athens, while in all other stories NO WAR is mentioned, but only COLONISATION of the locals on Earth. Which is very logical, 'cause the Earthlings could have never made war with a world "up there in the stars" that they couldn't even have located, let alone reached and attacked. So, if you have a functioning Mind you can easily figure out that it's all about STRATEGY. To deny this requires one to be either "stuck in a box" or an alien himself (or at least a collaborator).

    • why frightening? they aren't afraid. just curious about actual physics that don't make any sense so they went ahead and did the science to get some answers... shared em, more people got involved with more questions, did the research conducted experiments, shared the results, until now, there are good answers that those who just make claims, and believe based on their faith can't provide. Dont you personally have a single question? Like, if the sun really was over 90 million miles away, wouldn't it heat up and light up the one side of the earth equally, being that far away? Or, since we can easily calculate the 3rd side of any triangle, and can observe the angles of sunrays shining through clouds, anyone can calculate how high above us the sun actually is. It's obvious the sun is not millions of miles away. What about the constellations and north star... how do they stay in place while the earth is spinning, an also circling the sun, and hurtling through space, yet supposedly these stars that make up the constellations and the north star are billions of miles away yet have remained unchanged in our night sky through all time? It's kind of mind blowing to me that everyone isn't wondering how that could be. Well 10, 15, 20 years of keeping an open mind, there are some pretty solid answers that make sense. My hats off to those who also wondered and didn't just go by blind faith in what preachers like Neil give from their pulpits. I find him insulting. And not very good at giving answers. His answers make no sense at all. Maybe they did 10 years ago, but we know so much more today. Seems like he's not keeping up or he's doing what he's been told to do. The corrupt powers that be, never change. They keep using the same strategies, even when they don't work anymore. they don't know how to change. apparently their prediction machine stopped working in 2012.

I suggest Winnipeg, MB in Canada, Waco, TX in the USA, and Oaxaca, in Mexico. They are all on 97º W longitude (within about a 1/4º or so). This makes them almost perfectly aligned on a north/south line. You could also measure the angle of the Sun above horizon at local noon on the same day (ideally at one of the solstices), but the Polaris observation is much easier because it can be done on any clear night. What shape of the Earth supports the observations?

Even with great vision, you're likely to see a tiny and somewhat blurry dot. 6- Pay attention and watch the vehicle slowly grow bigger as it gets closer. 7- Notice that the vehicle is at it's largest, as it passes directly infront of you. 8- Pay attention and watch the vehicle slowly become smaller as it gets further away. 9- At some point, your vision will no longer allow you to see the vehicle. 10- Apply what you just saw, to the Flat Earth theory. The sun would be tiny when first able to be seen, huge at midday, and tiny when too far away to be seen. Also you could put your phone/camera in the middle of the floor, use a round flashlight, point it at the camera from as far away that you can, and then shine down on it from directly above. = Round Earth

You dont have to take everything in the bible seriously, for example first there was light, possibly talking about the big bang and so on.Religion serves as a uniting force and gives us a moral code. This does not mean that religion cant be judged, for example islam is a violent religion condoning forcefull conversion and killing of ,,infidels,, . The point im trying to make is religion is needed, a world without it would be a worse place. • Eratosthenes didn't use two wells. There was one well, in Syene (modern Aswan), where the sun reached the bottom of the well on the northern solstice (the summer solstice); and on the same day up in Alexandria, Eratosthenes measured the shadow cast by a vertical pillar and figured it was one-fiftieth of a circle -- therefore, the circumference of the Earth must be fifty times the distance from Syene to Alexandria. The cities were joined by a caravan route, which was estimated as the ancient equivalent of five hundred miles -- therefore, the circumference must be twenty-five thousand miles. He made some mistakes in his measurements, but they cancelled each other out.

If Flat Earth Theory is correct, one should be able to see both Polaris ( the North star ) and the Southern Cross. I had no problem finding Polaris, but even with the help of a compass ( so I could face South ) I was unable to see the Southern Cross. People like Tyson suffer from the Dunning-Kruger effect, in that they vastly overestimate the capability of other people. Tyson simply cannot grasp how dim most people are, so in his mind it's just a matter of educating them in some vague unexplained manner.

But currently most things which are most likely proving that there is in fact a climate change which humans can influence were never debunked with scientific methods. And in order to do this you don't even have to be a scientist. Just perform reproducable experiments which support your view. • Focus on the obvious here = the ancients *WANTED* answers. Moral of the story: Flerfs do not ask questions because they do not want answers. Their minds are made up and thus everything which follows becomes = circular reasoning towards that end. So ancient people recognized questions and sought answers...........whereas these imbeciles today assume they have the answer and dismiss what they see to never ask the question. They are trapped in the maelstrom of circular reasoning from which few ever escape: _"Things are real and hence true because that is what I choose to believe = and because that is what I choose to believe - things must therefore be real and hence true..............."_ Round and round and round they go. lol!

A margin of error of 2% is EXTREMELY impressive considering we have satellites & supercomputers to aid us today & Eratosthenes only had some sticks, some shadows & a brilliant head on his shoulders!

    • @@ogrelordmalfoy202 Saying that means you don't understand the definition the scientific community takes on theories. Theories are the way the are because we cannot prove them in every possible situation beyond every possible doubt that everything about a particular tested assumption is true. The reason we treat gravity the way we have is because we have done so many rigorous tests on the subject that, while not impossible, is incredibly difficult to throw doubt onto as a general concept. Particular finer details are still being worked out by the scientific community keeping the concept itself within the theory wheelhouse. It will be a theory until every word used to describe every facet of the idea of gravity is true beyond a shadow of a doubt in all situations that could ever possibly arise. So to say that something is "Only a theory" ignores the things that have been done to prove it to be true and the time it has taken to do those things as well as the scientists that have spent their lives attempting to prove and disprove those things. Gravity is a theory, but it is also a well documented and well researched concept that has been proven time and again to be true as a concept. While every detail isn't perfect, until someone else proves a better idea, it should be treated highly.

      @Ipuntmidgets1@Ipuntmidgets13 жыл бұрын
    • @@ogrelordmalfoy202 Have you every studied Physics? Then you would know that laws are DESCRIPTIONS of natural phenomena whereas theories are EXPLANATIONS. Gravity is both a theory AND a law. Theories are basically explanations for what laws describe. No theory is "just a theory". Theories must have substantial, indisputable evidence and reviewed many times before they are recognised and approved by the scientific community. Laws can also be broken, many of them are only descriptions of natural phenomena in certain situations. If you seriously don't know what theories and laws are, you are not qualified to judge science that has been proven again and again to be true.

Stuck in they're alternate universes. Our youth needs guidance in the direction of what is true instead of being sheltered from what is real. And what is to come.

    • David Nathaniel Well that's pretty much everyone. It's fine to say it's open for people to learn about, but to actually debate whether or not it's true has 100% been closed. Every new generation needs to learn the Earth is a Sphere/Globe just like they need to learn about anything. But their lack of current understanding is not proof of it being incorrect.

  • I think the only reason they say it's flat is because they know good and well that it's round, and they don't trust anyone that doesn't "go against the grain." They have simply started believing everything is opposite of what it is, then, they make up all of their "facts" after the fact I say this because why in the heck is everything in the universe round, and the earth has to be flat?

  • I don't get example with 3 wells (not a flathearther). How it's different for flat Earth than with two wells? I mean, if (presumably) Sun is so "small and close by" so "its light hits the second well at an angle", why it can't hit the third one at an different angle too? It's literally shown in the picture 5:20 It's about size of angles that don't match the math?

    @pavelgl5926@pavelgl59266 ай бұрын
    • the angles allow you to calculate the height of the flattardia sun, but because the earth isn't flat, the angle for the third well will not correspond to the same height of the flattardia sun.

The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that 'my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge'.” Issac Asimov

    • @Bobby J Bear Please, I beg of you to just take a class of physics. Even the general education physics lab has the students compare theoretical results to experimental ones. If you can explain the most basic velocity problems and trajectory without gravity then we can talk.

    • @Bobby J Bear Why don't you pull the moon back when is disappears behind the horizon. Those P9000 videos don't actually pull anything back from the horizon. They go from full tele when you can see the boat and zoom wide until it disappears, and then reverse it. Convincing trick if you have no Idea of what you are looking at, the boat is just too small to see .at hte wide end of the zoom. childish at best. there are plenty of videos taken with P9000 where the zoom is set to max and the ship can be seen to go over the horizon and disappear. cheers

    • @Bobby J Bear P what ever , that is irrelevant,you are merely avoiding the issue of the footage being misinterpreted and ignoring footage that clearly shows you are wrong. I have seen the so called pulling boats back from the horizon, and that happens because the boat in question never is actually over the horizon. and you haven't answered why can't you pull the moon back???? don't even think of saying perspective as you guys twist that concept to fit whatever hair brained idea you see on you tube. I am a working photographer and I consider those cameras nothing more than interesting toys.
