  • This little movie is an absolute gem. Full of nostalgia for those of us who grew up in the fifties, with just the right amount of "camp" tossed in for seasoning. A big thank you, to those who produced and starred in it, as well as those who saw to it that it was added to KZhead. AAA+

    • It is meant to be a parody and homage to 50s B movies. It is themed on “It Came From Outer Space” 1953, "Teenagers from Outer Space" 1959, and there is footage lifted from 1958’s “The Blob” that is used to empty a crowded theatre. It's a good flick with excellent references to that typical 50s B movie feel. 😃

Heck. we didn't even have a color TV until the rich people three doors over got the first one on the block and all of us kids watched Disney's "The Wonderful World of Color" on Sunday nights there.

    • @@DaveLennonCopeland It's no easy trick to do a parody AND homage, but they pulled it off. Don't forget 1958's "I Married A Monster from Outer Space" where the wife's husband is taken over by an alien. I need to go check but I think the 2 men in the red pickup was from one of the 2 Gila monster movies.

  • What a fantastic movie. So well made with such great detail to the sci-fi movies of the 50's. The locations, the actors, direction, soundtrack, the diner, the vehicles, wardrobe, the cops, everthing. And of course the groovy monsters that eventually could be destroyed with table salt! Brilliantly produced from start to finish. They nailed it! Respectful salute to the classic sci-fi movies of that great era. Even the cinema scene playing the original Blob flick. 10 out of 10 for this one. A cheesy b-movie classic. So overjoyed to have found this one. The team who made this should definitely make more. So folks, get your popcorn ready and watch this movie. You won't be disappointed!

    • Paint could only be used to make textures, other software is used to make the 3D model the texture is applied to. Without the 3D model the texture is just a 2D image that is a flattened out 3D shape cut up and arranged to fill up as much of the image resolution as possible. I get the gist of what you are saying but it makes little sense considering Paint has nothing to do with 3D animation unless the texture artist is a masochist that hates deadlines even in 95.

  • Well done. No quite "Mars Attacks", but a pretty damn good spoof on 50's Sci/Fi movies that took themselves way too seriously. An homage to "The Day the Earth Stood Still and a few other Sci/Fi classics from that era.

  • I was eight years old when the Blob came out. Saw it with Mom & Dad at the Magnolia Drive In in Riverside, California. This movie reminded me of how things were back in the late 1950's. So much has changed, and mostly not for the better. Pretty good movie...

    • Aaahh, back when Magnolia Ave. was actually lined with Magnolia trees and the drive in was "a long way" from town... and The Creature From The Black Lagoon lived in the lake just up the hill around the corner, and we all hid on the floor of the car every time we went past it. (Thanks Dad!) ... and the Adams Family House on Adams St. ... I miss old Riverside.

    • @@kenlee5509 Remember there was a train that came down the middle of Magnolia Ave. from Corona to downtown Riverside till 1961. Is the house you are talking about. Where was this Adams Family house you are talking about?

  • You know, you don't often see a "modern" movie purposefully made in the '50's campy retro style, but the guys that did this did a fantastic job. Well worth watching. All around enjoyable.

  • Great movie. oh how our world has sadly changed for the worse. Part of me wishes we were still in the 50's - 60's. I think we all know how it turned sour.

    • Sour is youtube complainers whining about their rosy retrospection -- look it up, as it's a psychology term referring to deluded people with bad attitudes.

  • Absolutely pitch perfect, not only as a parody-homage-comedy take off, but also as a perfectly watchable period movie; the kind of "horror" sci-fi that I enjoyed as a kid. There are so many great moments: the genuine pearl clutch at 39:43, the period perfect Electrolu..vacuum; the theater scene. Great ironic acting, but not TOO much irony with just the RIGHT touch of credibility (kudos to the Director and Actors). Speaking of actors, so many talented and beautiful women here. Talk about "chassis" Hubba hubba. The cars: spot on. The dialogue, sets and wardrobe:all are wonderful.."Marshall ERP!" One mistake: the Chief (who is ALWAYS close to retirement and clueless) says "ask around on neighborhood." Uh.....no. Great blind work in the office, by the way: very noir. And now, "cheeze it, the cops."

  • Late 50s movies were my go-to as a kid. That's how I first got into sci-fi. This might not be right up there with This Island Earth but it sure touches the bases and was very enjoyable. And, most of all, this one has a lot of heart in it.
