hello
I met ted last week! Stumbled upon him at the department store, and when I said hi he smashed my kneecaps with a lead pipe and told me someone like me should never ever look directly in his eyes!! Loved the experience
Ugh you’re so lucky ☹️
Classic Ted! 😊😊😊
hes a real one 😂
Comments like this really show how good of a person Ted is. 😊
LUCKY! He only plucked out my left eye and twisted both my thumbs causing long lasting disfigurement
“I was right.. I was right!!! THAT DOESN’T USUALLY HAPPEN TO ME!!” That was such a good line to use as an Audio
Noted, no Ted...
Also "I wasn't really trying to hide what I was doing! ....I just didn't think you guys would catch on so fast."
"I was right.. I was RIGHT ... that doesnt usually happen to me" Probably would´ve worked great too
True
Lesson learned: if your first attempt doesn’t work give up

“Well, this is gonna be my personality for the rest of my life”
welp. Guess I’m staying alive
Taking this advice LMAO
@@alec-md1zo Damn, tragic
The fact that Ted's first sound was the one that hit is hilarious
A SOCKS MEMBER ?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
I think the first one was the most successful for the simple reason that people LOVE talking about themselves, and the sound is a perfect springing point for people to talk about whatever they're passionate about or whatever. Because of that, it was not only usable in pretty much every niche of the platform, but people felt like they were participating not in a larger viral trend, but in their own special community/corner of tiktok.
You’re so right! People talking about themselves truly is the most common thread with all trends. Like, in my experience I’ve found people…
WAIT YOU MADE THAT FIRST SOUND?! That's so crazy. Your talent continues to amaze me. New fan here.

the "this is going to be my personality..." sound has been all over my FYP for what feels like forever. I thought it was just a sound byte from a random video that someone else clipped and used but... wow. Ted's a marketing genius. also the tonystatovci shoutouts go so hard. that guy's the GOAT
I watch Ted’s videos regularly and yet somehow never realised the sound was him 😭
SAME I thought it was from a past video but nope he just made it 😭

The first one did so well because as much as people love making jokes on tiktok, they love talking about themselves even more
Way to true lol
this is so real 😂
Wow true!
People enjoy talking about themselves!! Shocker!!
social media users are all narcissistic sociopaths
The funniest part of this video is so many things Ted said in this video just as dialogue would’ve been great TikTok’ sounds
yeah like the “no yeah that makes sense” in the beginning
Or the "I wasn't hiding what I was trying to do, I just didn't think you guys would catch on so fast."
dude the reason it's so popular is 1. It's relatable 2. Ted's voice is way too mesmerizing to not use

17:30 has to be the most underrated joke ever. Man proudly declared he figured out the formula for the area of a circle while yelling pythagoras theorem which is for finding the hypotenuse of a right angle triangle
I was looking for a comment about this.
All I got was a clash of clans ad
same@@rebekahhiggins9002
that has the potential to be a tik tok audio
He must have been talking about calculating the area of a circle by integrating the areas of infinitely many triangle segments. Genius move
Funniest part of watching this a year later for the first time is hearing him make the first sound and immediately reacting as ”THAT WAS HIM!?”
I knew he succeeded in the challenge when I immediately recognized the sound from a TikTok I saw earlier today.
Same 💀 I thought it was Brian from Family Guy
Same I’m glad he succeeded 😂
SAME lmaooo I had no idea
thats hilarious
Same lol
I think I have another theory too as to why that first one was so viral. You hit the nail on the head with the fact that the best audios are simple and pretty much write the joke for you, but that first one also let people talk about themselves. And if there's anything we know about celebs and normal people alike, one of our favorite topics is ourself.
yeah plus it pokes fun at themselves so they can't be bullied for liking something cringe
yeah thats what i was kinda thinking
people will take any invitation to discuss their hyperfixations and i love that for them
you are so true for this
True
Hearing your first sound and immediately thinking "Wait, haven't I heard that sound before?" Made for AMAZING dramatic irony XD
I think its incredible that so many sound bites from this video could be used as tik tok audios
Ted writing on the whiteboard at 11:00 is legitimately a great opportunity for a sound and he didn't even realize it lmao
This is what I was gonna say lmao
Same with the "I was riiiight" at 17:01
there were so many great tiktok sounds he just casually said directly before choosing one that bombed
@@GrimOakheart Yeah, I can see that being used for loads of stuff, lol
ayyy im glad somebody else noticed this (welp actually like 1.5k people)
The second I heard him create the first sound I knew that that one had accomplished the goal. I no longer use tiktok, but I heard it on instagram reels. That's when you know the sound went viral, because the videos are worthy of being reposted to accounts dedicated to getting the most likes and views they can get
Same, I litearlly knew what sound it would be as soon as I saw this video and remembered hearing his voice on an Instagram reel
as soon as he said it I first thought "hey that's already a sound"
Same! I deleted tik tok over a year ago, but I heard his sound on Instagram not knowing it was him
I saw all of these tiktoks and so when I heard the first audio I screamed. How dare he dupe me like this…
lmafaooo nothing that one experience is original anymore 💀
watched the barbie video first, then watched this one, you're already my favorite youtuber. I'm watching EVERYTHING
wait, are you me ?? bc same
To be honest I could already feel with my intuition that the first video is EXTREMELY reusable and relatable in multiple context while also being funny and quirky
as someone who saw all teds tiktoks, 'keep throwing shit at the walls until something sticks' sums up perfectly how that felt
in this case it stuck first try and he just kept piling it on
Ay you from tassie too?
@@elliott7268 that's my name

I’m not surprised his voice went viral, he has such a resonant and dulcet tone to his voice it’s so great to listen to
Even a few moments from this video could be standalone tiktok sounds, like 8:30 and 18:56
@@user-en7dx1qp3k 8:30 is really good
he did, the "scuzy?" sound went kinda viral
@@user-en7dx1qp3k Honestly yeah on that one
So true! I remember hearing some of these sounds and thinking it was Brian from Family Guy
The “I’m stressed right now” and the “the worlds gonna end, the queen is dead etc” in that happy voice could have also worked
I think the most accurate thing your uhh virality experts said in the beginning is actually how much more important the tone of the voice and the way you're saying it is than the actual content. Throughout the whole video I was like "ohh it's great but why are you saying it that way!?!"
This is unironically one of the best looks into how a TikTok is storyboarded and made
@jason sankar yes !!!!!
You know what’s even more funny? When you made the first one, I was like “Didn’t someone already do something just like that?” I’m now realizing I probably had just heard your sound like a month ago and didn’t register that it was you! Too funny!

watching this a whole ass year later and literally just finding out THAT was you. That damn sound was all over my fy page and i had NO idea who you were at the time. This is crazy.
The experience of randomly watching this video and getting to the part where he records the sound and realising oh. My. God! He was the origin of that TikTok sound and he did in fact succeed😭🤣
As someone who saw countless videos with the first sound over the last few weeks it’s pretty cool to find out that you were trying to make a viral sound and how you made it lol
This!!!!
Was thinking about this too through the entire video. Then got to 17:03 and realized that got turned into a tiktok audio as well😂
Same here!
Same bro
yea
I’m gonna be honest, this is honestly one of the BEST VIDEOS ON THE PLATFORM, like seriously Ted, why make it so good
19:53 muscle man💀
i always thought danny didn’t fully understand the assignment, in a way that he was making his stuff so high quality. so watching ted actually get it right is so satisfying
yeah his shit was funny but youtuber funny tbh
I think Danny’s approach was correct for what he was trying to do, he always gave himself the severe handicap of pretending to be someone else with literally no following so you kinda have to be high quality if you want a chance to go viral off a few attempts. Here everyone knew it was ted he wasn’t trying to hide his identity they just didn’t know he was making a video about it right? That’s a huge leg up, like small loan of a million dollars leg up lmao
But it’s funny because Danny’s voice accidentally goes viral like three times a year 😭
Yeah my approach was more from the angle of it being generally very hard for anything to go viral in the first place, since there are plenty of Tik Tokkers that I’m sure try to make Tik Toks where the audio would go viral. Genuinely I think this was successful because of luck here because some of the other sounds I thought were just as good as that first one and none of the other ones passed even 1000 videos!
@@TedNivison I don't feel like going through all the comments to check if someone said this already, but I wanted to let you know that TikTok actually increases the chances that someone's first video will go viral (or at least get a lot more likes/views than it normally would) so the person is incentivized to come back and make more. So hey I guess it worked lmao
8:30 to 8:36 sounds like it has really good viral potential too 😭 the whole “Newsflash, i’m not really trying to hide what i’m doing. I just didn’t think you guys would catch on so fast” feels like it could fit with so many circumstances.
YESSSSSS
THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT I THOUGHT LMAO I KEPT THINKING "imagine this one sound bite from ted's video about making a viral tiktok sound did better than the sound he actually tried to have go viral" if i actually used tiktok i would try to make that happen just to spite him

Might be a super random thing, but I love how your green screen effect looks in this video. Something extra crisp about it.
It's so funny that in day 3 he was like, "Brain empty, no ideas" but the "mental health, being stressed, nihilism - the Queen is dead" line would definitely kill on TikTok
Ironic, a lot of his lines about his attempt to make "relatable" material that could go viral, are in fact, quite relatable and could go viral.

This is gonna be my personality for the rest of my life
The fact that now, in 2024, the first sound he made has 62.5k videos under it just proves that if you wait its not for nothing
I cannot believe that Ed Sheeran used your TikTok sound
The impressive part is that your sound broke through your own fan base out where it could grow in all circles/niches. Breaking that barrier is where its success really came from.
Oh my god… I’ve literally heard this sound everywhere! I was gonna record a video with it but then Ted walked in and broke both my legs and said he hated me… still very cool!
One time I was out for a walk, wearing my Goddus Annus merch, and then Ted suddenly appeared and beat the shit out of me - he broke my leg in three places and gave my ankle an avulsion fracture. He then said "It's never coming back." And then he spun me around really fast and when I came to he wasn't there. It still hurts whenever I move my ankle, but at least I have the memories.
