MOPAR RANCH: Eclectic Collection of 60s-70s Dodge and Plymouth Classics And A Battleship?! | EP2
When she meets a crazy car collector with a ballistic missile and battleship in his front yard, Nicole Johnson learns to play by his rules. Explore Terry Ulmer's Mopar Ranch full of 60s-70s Dodge and Plymouth restored classics, and take a drive with Nicole in a 1970 Plymouth Cuda.
MORE ABOUT TERRY ULMER & MOPAR RANCH:
This 37-year builder of Navy ships and munitions wanted to do something special to honor veterans and the survivors of Pearl Harbor, so he built an exact replica of a pilot house as the anchor for his incredible tribute property. Mopar Ranch is Terry Ulmer's private residence and is not open to the public, however, Terry regularly hosts tours and special events for military veterans, survivors, active duty and political figures.
I have Kicker audio systems in my personal vehicles and I'm obsessed with them, thus their logo at the end of this video. We did not receive sponsorship or payment to create this, I just love listening to great tunes and telling others about them. Enjoy! www.kicker.com/

This video represents what I think will be the future of automotive journalism. You are an appealing and enthusiastic host, the camera and editing work is first class, and so far you have chosen great subjects--both human and mechanical--and have taken time to develop their stories. You also ask questions that allow people with varying levels of expertise to understand what is going on. And . . . there is no distracting techno music playing in the background, which is another huge plus. Really impressed with what you have created, Nicole.
Wow. Thank you soooooo much for recognizing this. It is precisely the purpose of what we are striving for. I cannot tell you enough how much I appreciate the comment, and it makes me feel very validated and optimistic. You just made my day, month and year! :-)
Adding to what Terry said. Although you are a woman, or so it appears..who really knows these days. Your not using your body or looks to gain likes or views. I respect that and it usually means you have actual talent. By the way if the choice was yours. Never...Never turn down the Hemi! You think the 440 set you back in your seat, punch an Elephant and see what happens! Plum Crazy Elephant all day long!...
Sort of like Top Gear. An automotive show but so fun, it appeals to everyone.
@@longrifle. if you can't tell Nicole is a woman you've been watching Sarah N Tuned too long.
Agreed. What a great job they do on putting these together. My first click was just to see more of her. But after watching the first video, I was hooked on the content and how good the camera work was. They literally make you want to keep watching until the end. It's even more appealing that she really does know what she is talking about and she can really drive these vehicles. The real shocker is that she engages with her veiwers. My girlfriend and I are so impressed that we'll be fans as long as she keeps this going. It's quite impressive how genuine she is. Keep watching,
Terry is an all around great neighbor and didn't even mention his tractors or the hours he's spent taking one of his pieces of equipment up the road to help a neighbor move some dirt, cut back a bank or even clean up a fallen tree. To most of us out here, he and Lynn are known as neighbors first then you get to know "the rest of the story" his passion for the Pearl Harbor survivors, the Navy and Mopars. You know he's true Navy when all his Doberman's names are or have been Radar, Gunner, Ammo and the like. This video was just a small sampling of who and what this awesome neighbor and man is and any true justice would take more than an entire season of any reality television series. Still an awesome job from Nicole and her crew cramming as much as they could into this short video and any of us that know Terry, always the showman!
Thank you for your insight, Ruth! If I could give this 10 hearts I totally would! Terry and Lynn were so generous with their time. And you're absolutely right, no 17 minute video could share the whole story. There were so many really great things about Terry and the property we just couldn't cram into this episode. How blessed you are to have really fantastic neighbors! They are top notch and as good as they come!!! Thank you again for watching and sharing your perspective! :-)
I feel like only the surface was scratched in this video. This man has some stories to tell.
🤔 Yeah, it's all great, except for one 'questionable' choice he's been making for most of his life, but fortunately it's NOT too late to rectify it! All it'll take is selling ALL those Mopars and replacing them with Fords! {Just joking of course}[maybe] 😁
Dear @@NicoleJohnsonsDetour I really hope that you have been serious as you said that you will visit him again! Great video as always. Best regards, luck and health.
Love that he fully embraces the wacky colors of these cars, especially in an age when everything is white, black or silver!
Good point! Nothing dull about the vintage colors!
Yes ,he mentioned that dodge and Plymouth had different names for the same HIP colour ,but called the Plymouth Road Runner a Dodge Colour.
??Wacky?? These are not "wacky" to Mopar guys!!!! My 70 was limelight, 440-6, 4 speed, Dana. Wish I had it back. Bought it used about 71 NAS Miramar, San Diego. Still in touch with the guy I bought it from
Love my 1970 duster 340 in sassy grass green
Wish cars nowadays had that much uniqueness!
This is my good friend, Terry. He’s such a great guy. Truly a one of a kind.
Terry is a really great American!
@@NicoleJohnsonsDetour He sure is. Did he tell you about the Challenger on the side of his van? It’s from the movie Vanishing Point. We were talking about that movie because I have a white Challenger and then he put it on the sides of his van. VANishing Point. He’s a cool dude.
these kind of friends give you so many fond memories and stories for the ages. absorb them while you can. cheers!
@Jason Luthge Yes! We did talk about it! You can see it in the background a bit, too. I didn't know you were the inspiration for that! Totally awesome
@@IYAOYAS9820 one of the greatest automotive films of all time. period.
She is so real world and he is the ultimate neighbor! Love that he has cars tastefully modified and that 70 Roadrunner is just perfect. Thanks for the video!
That museum is incredibly beautiful to a MOPAR guy like me. 👍✌🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸❤🙏
the bloopers are the "best"!!! love it.
It took me a hour and a half to watch this because I had to stop three times to cry. I miss my mopar's.
We're so glad you liked it!! Terry has an amazing collection!!
Best moment us when the door opens and Nicole is speechless. Love those crazy colors that only a MOPAR can pull off!
It's an impressive collection!
HOW TRUE WHAT HE SAID ABOUT GROWING UP IN THE GREATEST TIME IN OUR HISTORY.. GREAT CARS AND ROCK AND ROLL MUSIC..I WAS BORN IN 1946 AND IN 66 I WAS 20 YRS OLD. RACED MY OLDS 442, BUT THE GREATEST MOTORS OF ALL TIME WAS ALWAYS THE HEMI IN A 1969 CUDA.. IT WAS A BEAST...THANK YOU FOR THE LOOK BACK SIR...
The sound of a Hemi is just perfection,, 🚗🚙🚘 What a great video,, thank you so much,,
Glad you enjoyed it!
Didn't know a guy that cool existed. What an amazing human, just amazing!!! Wow!!!
It is an honor to be Terry’s barber and friend. His many interests and great personality always shines through to me and anyone he talks to. The car and outfit coordinations are quite the sight to see! Nicole’s presentation and enthusiasm was also great and brought all this together very nicely.
I am a friend of Terry's as well. Heck, anyone he meets is his friend. He is in the news again. Just look up cbs channel 8 from 2/22/22.
Have always loved touring WWII ships. WWII vets are my hero's. A huge plus is a pretty lady and Mopars. Life at 79 ain't all bad.
Personality is everything and this young lady has all of it. Great video!!!!
Great channel ..... Great place ..... Great cars ... plus Nicole. !!! #MoparOrNoCar

Jaw drop when you opened the shop door. Wow what a collection! So meticulously restored. This guy is a national treasure, thank you for an excellent tag-along experience!

It’s so awesome to see all of the wonderful comments from Terry’s neighbors! True testament of the kind of person he is.
I couldn't agree more!
Beautiful every part of this video I'm 60 years old I owned a Red 68 Charger back when I was 19 it had the 426 Hemi with the factory 4 speed I wish I never sold it but it did go to a collector that still owns it
That car collection is drooling !!!
We need to have that guy cloned, he’s bringing back way to many memories. 👍🏾

Yeah, Terry's great!
Yup,, cars w big BHP and rock and roll!
I'm in love with everything about your channel! Such beautiful scenery in every facet. The content is wonderful. You are a super beautiful woman 👠
Thank you so much!
My paternal grandfather was a "plank owner" on Fletcher Class destroyer during WWII. USS Nicholas DD 449, most decorated ship in the US Navy for many years. First US Navy ship into Tokyo Bay during the signing of the Japanese surrender, and they helped transfer emissaries to the USS Missouri for the signing of the surrender. My grandfather told many great stories about his time on the ship and the heroic actions of all who fought.
Thank you so much for sharing with us!! Very nice!!
My dad just got a 440 for his 69 Roadrunner! It's Ivy Green and its got the black hood stripes!
I'm so jealous!! Your literally driving my dream car!! That's probably a 150-200,000 $ car!!😲👍
You can get a 73 for $20k and build it into that over time
Did he just mention the best car chase ever? Love that car chase!!
Nicole your personality what makes this show so great. 🤗
Thank you so much 🤗
I love those collections thank you Nicole for sharing as much as you did with us have fun take care
Thank you! You too!
This owners far more relaxed when Nicole is driving vs the VW guy..
To be honest, the VW guy wasn't relaxed when HE was driving the car either lol. That VW is clearly a beast, and she took over the driving like a champ
Terry was a good sport, for sure!
You got that right
Oh.. He wasn't very fun at ole..
Nicole, I absolutely loved this episode !! Terry's quirkiness and passion for his builds shows in his enthusiasm. When he was talking about his Mopar collection ( my personal favorite brand ) it was like a proud parent boasting about his kids. Do you think he'll ever open a museum ?
Thank you..glad you liked it! Don't know about the museum, but he certainly has an amazing collection!
Nothing but love and respect for this talented woman! Such a natural American beauty! xx
Wow, thank you! Will you please subscribe? This channel needs you!!

Glad you enjoyed it
She rocks! Smart , sweet ,sassy , inquisitive and assertive! My kind of woman! God Bless
Thank you so much..that's very nice!
Well WOOF! - I've known Terry for about 10+ years and watched him build a good number of those cars and his Naval collection. Terry is a man who is very much alive in his pursuit of fun activities. Even several heart surgeries during the last year didn't slow him down. The Doctor would tell him slow down and the next day you'd see him out on his property moving dirt, building a wall or something as unusual as a rocket or miniature submarine. He'll be one of those people you hear about that will arm wrestle with God over bargaining for just a little more time to complete the 27 major projects that he would like to finish before he "steps out". Nicole, good on you for your boldness on the track and in life. Thank you for taking your time and $$$ to bring to awareness that real people (such as yourself) and real life exists beyond Hollywood movies and game-boy fantasies.
Thank you, Mike. Terry is such a neat guy. What wonderful insight from one of his friends. :-)
Looks like your having fun, keep at it!.. Cheers from Southern California Daily driver everyday and everywhere 1968 Dodge Dart..
Right on!
Beautiful cars and a Beautiful Girl showing them. Thanks Nicole!
Glad you enjoyed it!
60 & 70's cars are just INCREDIBLE 👍
Yes they are!!!
What an awesome experience this must be !!!!!
I have driven by this place many times and always wondered what it was. That was fun to learn a bit about Terry and his passions, and finally have an answer to what was there! And Nicole, you lucky lady, getting to drive that gorgeous piece of iron!
Yes, I am so lucky indeed to see his collection and drive the Cuda!
Loved hearing Terry talk about the history and explain his collection. Makes me wish I had more conversations with my grandpa when he was alive
I agree!
Being a Navy Vet, I love this episode, plus the Mopars are the icing on the cake 🎂
We're so glad you enjoyed watching!! Thank you for your service!!
Mr. Ulmer I found this video absolutely fascinating. Classic Mopars and old WWII Navy hardware...in working order mind you all on the same property. How cool is that? The cars are simply GORGEOUS. Nicole had a blast driving the 440 Cuda. What a privilege for her. Luck be a Lady.
So glad you enjoyed watching!!

I moved from Oxnard to Oregon in 2014. I would have loved to have visited this place. I was a Fire Control Technician in the Navy and this brought back some great memories! Thanks for a great video that’s out of the ordinary!
This channel is great. Nice to see a lady in the car scene that isn't trying to be a caricature the whole time. Nicole seems like the real deal, and does a great job in these videos. Whoever does the video work and editing is also doing phenomenal work.

Thank you Aaron!!!
As a person who is admittedly picky about KZhead presenters, I really enjoy your channel, Nicole. You have tons of enthusiasm (without overdoing it or coming across as insincere) and you understand the technical/mechanical aspects, as well. I'm now subscribed.
Wow, thank you! So glad you enjoy!
Hi Nicole, I'm a friend of Terry's. Isn't Terry and Mopar Ranch FABULOUS!!!!!!
Oh my gosh yes! Terry is so talented, and eccentric, and fascinating! His property is unbelievable...there's so much we just didn't have time to cover. I think he will become a legend if he's not already seen as one. Great guy, huge vision! Nice to meet you!!
