In the 1960's and early 1970's we had a local hangout in my town known as Eat n Park. Just like happy days except the girls did not have roller skates. But they did come out to your car, take your order and bring your food to you. Every evening my brother and I would go to this place because he owned a 1969 Chevelle 396. Muscle cars would cruise through, some would stop and back into their parking space and wait for someone to challenge them to a race. When that happened, most people would follow to a long straight piece of road to race. But after a few years the police started to stake out this road and it was on to a new location for the next race. Wonderful times.

True but 4,600$ was not chump change in 1968.

To this day I remember a yellow Nova with air shocks, side pipes, traction bars and slot wheels went by. What got me the most was it had NO hood. You could see the high rise intake. And it had chrome hood spring hinges in the up position. It was SO cool I remember thinking. The chrome hood hinges sticking up was the neatest thing about it.
One of the most beautiful Chargers I've seen in many years. A throaty sounding Hemi-under-glass. Life is good!
I love a big cube lazy tick over (sounds at the point of almost stalling is my favourite)
though i agree with you, the only thing better is one with blower surge/ lurch
@@Pschomech 👌🏽
Now that’s just badass! Maybe one day I’ll have an extra 100k and I can get one lol
The sound of perfection
I am a Ford guy but man she is gorgeous to look at and listen to. Back in the day when Chrysler made a real car. A true classic beauty 👍
Pure unadulterated muscle! That sound is music to my old ears!
I owned 68 Charger loved it, in 74 to 79 Got Married in 76 and Daughter was born had to sell it, I remember the tears i had saying good by.
Nothing sounds better than good ole American muscle. Love the sound.
HOLY SH!T!!! NOW THAT’S STRAIGHT UP BRUTAL HORSEPOWER!! 😎👍🏾😆
I’ll take this over modern hemi’s anyday.
I'll take this and a modern SRT Challenger. Would look great side by side in a garage
Anthony For real. Why choose.
I'd take this over any other car out there today. I don't need a half million or more car, I'd be just as happy driving this car.
Same I don’t need the tesla because it’s fast.this is that driver experience those electric cars don’t have .
So would I....and I own a Charger Hellcat.
Couldn’t sound any better in my book, been mopar a long time ! I had a 68” and 70”roadrunner and a hemi corenet RT , roadrunners both were 440 six packs 🔥💥
I think these old school chargers look way better than today's chargers.
You can’t fake truth and that sound is truth. The sound is like when your big brother is coming to your rescue
James Morris That’s a great way to put it. “The sound is like when your big brother is coming to your rescue.” I’m keeping that one going.
I laughed when I read this.....my younger brother was always getting me into fights....trouble was the guys he got into it with belonged to the "Future Special Forces Youth Corps" and ate raw meat for breakfast. Boy, some of the gorillas just about killed me. My brother Jim is the best brother a man could ask for.....I guess it was sort of a 'bonding' thing for us. One of the pair of brothers we used to fight with turned out....one of them an Army Ranger and the other one a Green Beret. My brother sure could pick 'em.....I love that guy.
Now, THAT is a Charger!!! Not those 4-door family cars dumped on the market today.
Alex Holub even the new ones kick ass for a four door
There is No God Rather it be plastic than being likely to die in a crash
That's the best year in my opinion. '66 a close Second.
Hellcats are pretty sick in my opinion, I plan on buying one soon. But these early chargers will always be legendary. They got my respect 😎
There is No God also you’re looking at it with nostalgia, either way this thing will probably be trailered to events and sit in the back of a guys garage for 40+ years
My 1st car in 1973 was a 1970 Dodge Challenger SE 383 Magnum ...my buddy had a '70 Barracuda 340 6pack...down the street was a Superbee...Nova, GTO, Camaro SS, Olds 442, Mustang GT, muscle cars everywhere...we didn't know just how cool we were until later on.
The most beautiful beast I’ve ever seen. I’d give a few years off the end just have this to drive around until that time.
