Sorry for the dust on the dash, I was just to anxious to try out my new GoPro camera, car had been sitting all winter, also there is nothing wrong with my mirror, I was adjusting my camera for best view I was streaming to cell phone on the dash and the mirror was getting in my way.
The gauges out side the car are both mechanical fuel and Nos gauges and I just dont want them inside the Car incase of a fire.
Car runs Hi 9s with out the Nos

  • I'm 67 years old, and I drive a 23 year old Toyota Camry. When I was 19 years old, I drove a 1972 Pinto with a high-performance 302 V8 engine, with a Holley 780 double pumper carburetor and it had a posi track rear end that came out of a wreaked Boss 302 Mustang. It also had side pipes. It was a 3 speed automatic, but it would pin you to the seat, and she'd scream like a wild banshee. Your video gave me a few moments of being a kid again. Thank You.

I just like having the choice of activities, hobbies, or transportation. I'll always love the looks and sound of a big block. Much the same how some will always choose the thumping and shaking of a Harley, over the instant acceleration of an electric motor. Some still love old audio and playing vinyl records. It did not pop out of the hole like this “short block” bad boy. My quarter time was 13s at maybe 115. I put a big 4 barrel on it and let it breathe. I’m pretty sure I was surpassing 400hp but as heavy as a tank. With a 2.92 rear I got it near 150mph. I ran 3:9x usually. It what I had. I love Mopar. My dad had a 68 Corvette 427/435 hp but tuning was hard. He lost a race to the seller of my Charger who had an expertly tuned 440 6 pack Roadrunner. Mopars took no prisoners, and their short blocks are the best, 383

    • @@mr.frenchfry4448 Stands for Volumetric Efficiency. In that reference it may seem confusing, but you may have noticed driving lets say a manual 4 cylinder, in 5th gear at 50mph, 2000rpm… 20% throttle and 100% throttle doesn’t really make a difference. That’s because in that state, 20% throttle is giving that engine all the air in can inhale, so it would be near 100% VE @ 20% throttle - near atmospheric pressure in the intake. Thus opening the throttle to 100% is fruitless. Based on the sound alone, this small block is just about the opposite of that. Throttle for days.

      @toastybuddy8743@toastybuddy87432 жыл бұрын
    • @@tabor_experience Correct. You’d be changing the VE of the engine by using a different gear ratio for a given load. In that case the load being vehicle speed. It was the best example i could think of at the time on behalf of most 4 cylinders being rather gutless at low engine speeds and therefor the throttle isn’t very exciting until you’re screaming it. To whoever has driven a Viper - (any year, really) - this machine is the virtual opposite of that… tons of VE on tap pretty much always. Maybe not 6th gear at 40mph but those cars will gladly do it anyways…

  • Love that mopar sound. I had a 68 cuda with a 600 hp 440 that I dropped in after the 383 got tired. It accelerated like that. Hitting 115 mph in seconds was a lot of fun. Sorry I sold it 🙁😪
