    • The Cowboys had the game won. With 6 minutes to go and a 7 point lead, but at their own 2. Then Romo throws to Glenn who fumbles into the end zone. After a safety, the Seahawks need only 4 plays to take the lead. ZERO of which has to do with Romo. He still drives the length of the field to give his team a chance. Something that most QBs are not capable of doing. But, when he fails, all the finger only point to him as the only cause. Something else to think about. So many people equate that one play with Romo's career. One play when he was not the QB is used to define his QB career. People are just stupid.

They're playing at home vs a rival a tie like that woulda been cowardly. the Raiders coach even said after the game "When we got the big run and got us into what we thought was advantageous field goal position for us, we were gonna take the field goal and try to win it.” Somehow this narrative persists that a timeout was what cost the chargers and not them simply losing the game.

Also, Trubisky drove them down the field. But I do believe it was tipped as someone mentioned above. 90 likes, fucking casuals.

  • Ngl, as a raiders fan I still have a very little clue of how Staley’s time-out affected the outcome of that 3rd and 4 possession. Was the play designed for us to throw first before the time out? Did the chargers defense change and we took advantage of it? Did it give us more time to set up the Jacobs run instead of us wasting our timeout? Could be either of these, but I’m not completely adamant on how that coulda possibly ultimately costed the chargers their season. Oh well, it sure was satisfying tho! #RN4L

    @PR1M3TlM3@PR1M3TlM35 ай бұрын
    • I remember it came out later that the raiders were just gonna play it safe and go for tie, as that would also clinch them a playoff berth. The timeout changed their thinking and ended up getting the chargers eliminated.

      @GiantsFan1734@GiantsFan17345 ай бұрын
    • The situation was that if chargers and raiders tied, both of them would go onto the playoff. If one team won, the losing team would’ve been eliminated. For the most of the game, they played competitively and I give them respect for that. Once the OT hit, you could tell the teams were playing not to lose and just letting the times tick. By calling a timeout in that moment, Staley showed to raiders that he was playing to win, not for a tie. Raiders said f it, then we are gonna try our best to score pts then win this game.

  • The Bengals may have experienced the single most karmic loss in sports, not only did they lose after doing something awful, but the awful thing directly caused it. If Burfict just stayed the hell away from a defenseless receiver for once they'd have the game in the palm of their hand, but he had to be himself and cost them the game, and then it was crowned by the reminder that the whole of the Bengals D at that time were scumbags since Jones fought over it and cost them another 15. You really couldn't dream up a more deserved loss.

    @jordanfry5138@jordanfry51385 ай бұрын
    • For years the Bengals had fostered dirty playing and supported players known for being abusive on and off the field. That play should have been their wakeup call, but even for a few seasons more they continued the same culture. Glad that getting Joe Burrow has seemed to turn things around for them, but that play is an ugly reminder of what happens to a team when you allow dirty and undisciplined play to fester. To this day, that play disgusts me, and I'm not even a Bengals fan.
