  • I wouldn’t call a missed fg from 58 yards a “cost us the game” moment. From 55+ yards, there is always a significant chance of missing the kick (not to mention the higher risk of a block because of the lower trajectory required). In other words, that long of a kick is nowhere near easy.

    @laprankster3264@laprankster3264 Жыл бұрын
    • Hmm, let's see: Was the loss a result of the miss? Was the field goal the play needed to win the game? Would the loss have been avoided if the kick had been made? That's what I thought, so shut up butt head!!!! I'm smart and you aren't L05Er A5S N3rD! How does it feel to be not cool and wrong? I don't care if it was a Hail Mary that was no good; if it's a play that has a possibility to win and it fails, it's a failure and a blown play to lose! You know nothing about football obviously! What happens if a 90 yard Hail Mary fails? The team on offense loses, and the failed Hail Mary is 100% why. You miss a field goal, you've single handedly lost the entire game! L0s3r 😈

    • He's missed 4 in his career, in 386 attempts. it's why the 2pt conversion against the Steelers was so dumb. Tucker is 99.99% for his career. Kick the XP. If you're worried about fatigue, how about drawing up a play that DOESN'T give TJ Watt a free run at your QB.

  • I remember reading a story in SI years ago about how being a placekicker was an unbelievably stressful position, mainly because they put you in a position where you're trying to win (or at least tie) the game, and when you fail to do it, everybody blames you for losing the game, even though you were put in that position by the rest of the team.

    @NeuralNetProcessor@NeuralNetProcessor Жыл бұрын
    • There have been a number of coaches over the years in the NFL who have treated kickers like absolute trash. Miss one game-ending FG, and you are trying out for your next team in less than a week. Used to be one of Bill Parcell's worst qualities.

Credit to Brady--he made at least one third-down conversion to get them in range, and of course Vinetteri made it, but the likelihood of them getting in range would have been less if the kick wasn't screwed up. • In the 2009 Grey Cup game (Canadian "equivalent" of the Super Bowl), with Montreal down by 2 at the end of the game, their kicker missed a field goal, seemingly giving the victory to Saskatchewan. Only problem for Saskatchewan was that they had an extra guy on the field, so Montreal got 5 yards and kicked again, winning the game. Best part is, Saskatchewan has this "Thirteenth Man" promotion for the team, similar to Seattle's "Twelfth Man", where the consider the crowd to be the extra man (Canadian football plays with 12 guys per side). Ironic that a 13th man cost them the title.

When I saw him refuse to drop down on the ball in a moment that he could have led his team for a game-winning touchdown in the super bowl, he proved the lack of heart that he has.

Slick guys tried to give rides to the stadium but you had to show your ticket for a free ride so I put a stop to that NUT Shyd. At the end of the game when buddy caught the pass in the far right corner which was our side, the stadium got quiet as hell but McNabb ran on the field cheering the Cowboys TD and the fireworks went off. A Skins fan had a shirt on that had a Jesus on it and said even God hates the Cowboys. After that penalty and loss I pointed it out and we laughed. Awesome 1st NFL game.
