  • That Super Bowl was all Butler at the end. His interception gets the most credit, but people also should acknowledge he was the one who had the game sense to understand that he needed to get Kearse out of bounds so Kearse didn't run with the ball and score too. Not to mention that upon contact during the interception he got knocked into the endzone and he needed to stay on his feet and pick up a couple yards to make sure he didn't just give Seattle a safety to give the ball back. Absolutely tremendous football IQ.

    @bmac4@bmac4 Жыл бұрын
    • Great points except there is no way they would have ruled it a safety if he went down in the end zone. If your momentum brings you back in it will only be a safety if you make a move upfield, cross the plane of the goal line, and then reverse course and get tackled in the end zone.

    • @@BeakerSteve I just looked up the new overtime rule. The article had a photo of that KC/Buffalo game as the picture (of course) It only guarantees each team gets possession of the ball once tho 🤦‍♂️ So if they both score TD’s then whoever wins the coin toss can win the game with a kick 😠 Guess it’s better than nothing but it still makes winning that stupid coin toss too important. The way that game was going, it looked like both teams could have marched up and down that field 3 or 4 more times if given the chance. So yeah the new rule is great, but what happens if a game this post season gets ruined by sudden death. That would be pretty crazy if the same situation happens again this year between Buffalo & KC and still ultimately winds up being decided by sudden death. I’m calling it now 😆

Should have been "game over" right there. Only the refs pretended they didn't see it and allowed SF to keep the ball. Then the 49ers won on the last play.
