      @flammenwurst223@flammenwurst2233 ай бұрын
    • @@flammenwurst223The problem with that is fans also feel it makes the game too soft. Traditionally, the NFL is also about strength and explosive explosive explosive power that can legally be used to cause pain (not injure) your opponent. It traditionally was part of NFL defense to hit the offense hard to slow them down. To make them tentative. That era, maybe for the better, is ending. @Dawesome97@Dawesome973 ай бұрын
    • @@beatndagutta And how many of them have suffered from serious issues afterward from repeated concussions or have even died from the effects of CTE? Oh yeah, around 5,000 players. And that's just the NFL and ones with confirmed CTE and those involved in the lawsuit against the NFL for concussion-related injuries that have continued after their career ended. You can complain about the league getting "softer" or whatever terms you want to use to describe it. All I want is to never see another Junior Seau or Jovan Belcher situation. Millions of dollars can't make up for a preventable death and life long injuries because of dangerous tackling, especially when there are absolutely safe ways to do it that aren't reducing it to 2-hand touch. Some situations you can't prevent (I'd consider the Pittman tackle one of those), but many of Jackson's are totally preventable ones where he, for no reason, just launches his head at theirs instead of trying to use his arms and body to wrap them up, such as the ones on Musgraves and Thomas, where his arms literally were still at his side when he hit them.

  • The fact that helmet to helmet hits are penalized 15 yards and often include being ejected, BUT STILL happen constantly, shows how impossible it is to remove those hits from the game. Players currently have all incentives to NOT do that, from big penalties, big fines, ejections, and even suspensions, but it's impossible to avoid certain impacts.
