How's the battery life?
@@ReetPandher i get about 5 to 6 hours of screen on time on average each week, it's not great compared to other new phones but obliterates my old 5S lol. the smaller size means smaller battery, but the flip side is that it charges quicker

3:12 I've been saying this for years, and no reviewers ever seem to comment on this. One of the more subtle touches that Apple does to make their devices feel more "premium" is making them unbelievably well balanced. Every iPhone and iPad that has ever come out as been perfectly balanced to a near absurd degree of perfection. It's something that most people probably won't distinctly notice, but it's a great subtle little detail that makes their devices just "feel" more premium and well designed.
My Mi A1 is perfectly balanced too 😲
That’s my greatest insatisfaction with my current XR. It’s top heavy and with rounded, aluminum corners, so basically made for slipping and falling. Using it without a grippy case is a very frightening experience. It seems to be alone in that though. iPhone 11, its direct successor, is balanced and so is the XS.

I found my old iPhone 5 in a drawer recently and was amazed at how tiny it seems. I bought it new when it came out and used it every day, it never seemed small or limited at the time. I miss phones of that size, I'm tempted by the mini.

The Mini seems like the best one. I always liked the size/form factor of the old iPhone 4, like you mentioned in your previous video. This seems to be getting closer back to that again.

To me the best size on a phone ever has been the iPhone 5, it's so usable and easy to carry, sometimes I want to snatch it back from my mom and give her my iPhone 7 lol.

I just got a 12 mini, upgrading from my iPhone 8 after some years, and I love it. The size is perfect for my small hands and I can easily one hand it anywhere. In 16:9 media consumption it’s actually slightly smaller on screen than my 8, yet I don’t mind it despite watching a lot of KZhead and TV on the go. Great phone for the price, would recommend

@@bachlamtung5131 I don't use anything at all. Usually, the glass is way stronger and brake/scratch proof than anything you can apply to it and I don't mind scratches on the back. And I never had any problems even though I drop my devices quite often (I usually manage to catch the impact with my feet though). But I never owned an iphone and I never will, so that might not apply to everything.

The point of a screen protector is _not_ not to be broken. The point of a screen protector that in the case it does scratch or crack, the damage won’t be dealt to the phone’s screen. The more you know. : ]
It's supposed to break so that your screen doesn't. However the dbrand one is unnecessary expensive, you can get the same ones for much cheaper.

I felt exactly the same about the 12 pro size. I bought one, and the the screen just was not big enough for ideal content consumption, but yet it wasn't compact. I returned it and bought the pro max and have been very satisfied with the new size. Not to mention that the notch appears smaller on the max vs the regular one, which I really appreciate.

Been using the 12 pro max for a week with the silicone case. I’m in love with the size of this chonker. The silicone case makes it nice and soft in the hands. Nice hand feel.

Also you can put whatever you want in the control center. Just search control center in settings and tap the plus or minus sign for any function.
It's kind of a hacky work around, but you can put a Shortcuts (the old workflows) widget on your widget screen and create shortcuts to launch apps, or do other automated tasks as a workaround for the lack of control panel access.

The 2:1 aspect ratio is perfect for watching on an iPhone X. The edge of the frame is right next to the notch. Although I’d never watch a 2.39:1 movie on it because you either lose a bit of the edges or have a black frame around it. The 1.85:1 aspect ratio also looks very nice on it.
It’s funny after he pointed out the notch mid video, I looked and saw it and then they must have adjusted the video to where there is no more notch bump. That’s kind of awesome. *watching in iPhone 12*

Great vid. The 13 pro max issss just so satisfying.. 120 hz display, battery for days and large screen. its slightly bigger then the 12's.
i've been using an iphone 5/5s for the past like 6 or so years bc i liked the look and size but finally decided to upgrade to an iphone 8 bc they were just sooooo slow. dont regret it

Yeah and why isnt there a button to do that, its really stupid that you have to go into the settings, and yeah you dont even have a settings button in the control center at first. LUL
I agree, it just sounded like Linus was saying you CANT customize the Control Center. It’s limited to what they will let you put there...and there should at least be an option to add a shortcut to the settings menu in there 🧐😒

You can add extra stuff to control centre. The option is in settings.
One quick note: The notifications are there when you unlock, just swipe down on left side of notch where the clock is displayed. Was so happy when I found this one :D

I got the 12 pro max coming from a OnePlus 7T and other than 60hz it’s really good
Apple: definitely does not always have top end features but what they DO have is perfected and it just works Google: lack of cool features unlike other Android oems but it always has "helpful" features like live caption, recorder app, now playing, Google assistant features and more Samsung: EVERYTHING EVERYTHING (usually result in less smooth experience but a soul for a soul)

I love your 2:1/18:9 videos because my phone has that aspect ratio screen with no notch whatsoever 😁 The Nokia 7 Plus might not be a flagship but its actually a great all round phone.
I hate it, I've learned to accept it but I prefer to watch LTT on my TV because it's high quality content and is more enjoyable with a TV and a surround sound system. They shoot with Red cameras then cripple it with a mobile optimized aspect ratio. Makes no sense.

I am one of those coming from a 5s, so the mini is great for me. *EXCEPT* that I really really wish it had TouchID instead of FaceID. I'm still tempted to go for the new SE just because of TouchID (and the lower cost is also pretty nice). If the Mini had TouchID then I would have ordered one on the first day orders were open for it.
I really wanted a review of the Mini so I'm excited. I don't want the Mini for my main phone but I used to carry a good phone (Android, Galaxy Note something since I love my Notes) and an iPhone/iPod to use for music. It will hardcore suck without the headphone jack but a 1080p OLED display like finally! iPhones have really good battery life, specifically standby, which is why I like them for music because my Note phones generally suck a ton of power when listening to music. Thanks for convincing him to use the Mini!

2:00 Hey Linus, there's an easy workaround for that. Don't swipe up when wearing a mask. Long press the notification, then type in the code and you will still be on the lockscreen after unlocking.

When he mentioned the notch being slightly in videos I immediately laughed cuz its only his videos. As someone pointed out in the background. Even on my note 10 plus the camera hole punch is slightly in the image when not on fill.

I don't really have any complaints about my iPhone X for features or performance, but the 12 Mini has me tempted - I loved the size of my 5S. Don't care about the screen size - the only time I'd use my phone for content consumption is if I have literally nothing else available. Also the camera on it is just for "scanning" documents or logging display readouts.
I’m upgrading to the 12 mini and I’m excited tbh. To me that phone is normal sized. I miss when a phone that size used to be normal for phones. I hate that phones are turning into tablets.

I bought an SE in July and couldn’t be happier with the size! I love small (one handable, touchID equipped) iPhones. I also hate the organization of IOS coming from an S8 😭

At first I really liked the screen size of the Xr, since I never really noticed the lower resolution, but the phone is so large that I find everyday use is uncomfortable since I can’t easily one-hand the phone. I’m hoping that the Mini is the answer I’ve been looking for, I’ve even considered getting the new SE just for a more manageable size on the go. Also c’mon Linus, use the search in settings or spotlight. You don’t have to dig through settings if you know what you’re looking for.
