Those people on the cruise were very lucky. As a mountain climber, I've experienced that once. Four of us were on a mountain ridge heading for the summit when everyone's hair stood straight up. One of us said "Maybe we better head..." when there was a blinding flash and an incredible KABOOM! We felt it in our chests. There was a lightning strike close by. Our ears didn't stop ringing until the next morning.

Didn't know lightning strikes were that bad Edit: to the hundreds of comments saying "wow u didn't know lightning was that dangerous? Now I am wondering if you could basically create a ‚speech steno‘, ie you only partially say the words so you can go even faster.
That walking around in circles social experiment works just as well in MMO games. In Final Fantasy XIV, I once noticed 3 players kneeling in a row on the edge of a circle in Limsa, so I kneeled behind them and waited. We accumulated enough players to draw attention and eventually we filled in the entire circle with probably over 100 players which took about 2 hours. Nobody wanted to be the first to stand up up and move on. I've even got screenshots off the occasion to remember it by.
i love this format of video, so simple. some videos don't even warrant commentary or context and so we're not being beaten over the head with opinions, it's a great middle ground.

If that happens to you and you can't get away, drop to your hands and knees instead of laying down. The human body has some resistance and your arms and legs provide a longer path from the ground to your heart that if you were laying flat. Of course, if it's a direct strike, praying position is best....
I understand what they were saying and i can confirm that they are quite dumb
The hair standing up is basically the positive charges from the ground reaching up to the negative charges from the clouds to 'shake hands,' which is also known as lightning. Any one of those people could have won the death lottery by having the highest tower of positive charges built on their head (electricity will take the route of least resistance and distance). It's so horrifying that they could've been just seconds away from death if the connection happened through them and not a higher point on the ship like the smoke stacks or the radar equipment.

There's stuff like mica and quartz that, buffed and polished as it is by the constant motion of both the sea and being rolled along with other grains of rock, looks like glass or has rainbow colours, there are tiny shells, sands composed of crushed corals, and yet others are literally skeletons of microscopic phytoplankton. In Hawaii, the basalt from lava flows has resulted in beaches with black sand, while the Isle of Wight in the UK is known for it's multicoloured sands. Just as the geology of an area dictates the nature of the land, it will also determine the composition of it's beaches.

I'm not fully blind (100% vision loss in right eye, about 92% vision loss in left eye), but I completely agree about the heightened senses-- my hearing has become so strong that I actually wear earplugs/headphones most of the time, because if I take them out, I can literally hear stationary objects. This also helps me tune out noise I don't need to focus on, like someone's T-Mobile phone ringing 4 blocks away, so that I can concentrate on cars at street crossings or conversation. Very useful for getting around, but a double-edged sword; loud noises paralyse me and normal day-to-day tasks like dish-washing can sound like the walls of Jericho coming down.
Really interesting perspective. Thanks so much for sharing.

That "object" they are circling around is a famous Scarab monument at Karnak Temple in Egypt. According to ancient beliefs, circling it for a certain number of times is said to bring various forms of blessings. Specifically, doing 5 rounds is believed to ward off envy and attract good fortune, while 3 rounds are said to be beneficial for those seeking wealth. If one is looking for a partner, circling it 6 times is recommended, and for those hoping to conceive, 7 rounds are suggested. This is the legend that lies behind the practice of tourists circling the scarab and it's pretty common behaviour at that temple.

I can feel the pressure after a heavy turbulence occured. I was in a ride like that before several times and you know it's grave when every adults remain silent all through out the flight. Anyways I love the goofy people.
That snake is playing 'Snake' on that brick wall. 😂
1:04 it’s cute how these people held hands and soothed each other, that was so precious 🥺

3:00 nope. It is a common thing to walk around that monument in Egypt the guide tells you to do it for luck.
It’s so cool that we’ve been able to make technology to help people!

I cant express how cute, strange and fantastically dumb the walking round the statue is 💜
It was kinda awsome, i would join too if i were there😅
@@TH34k There was a guy that pranked some arabs into walking around a brick 1500 years ago, legends say they're still walking.

The people walking around the object is not telling the whole story. This is a scarab beetle statue in Karnak Temple in Egypt, and it is myth that walking around it will bring you luck. It’s not just some random person who started walking around it, it’s an actual legend
The bug at 2:12 “Ninja GO!!”
Come on come on we are going to do it again.
We just jump up kick back whip around and spin
and gonna jump back do it again
