  • Apparently Nappa Leather is only used on the "Touchable surfaces of the chair." The rest the chair leather is similarly colored Faux Leather which most Faux leather is prone to Delamination and Peeling if ever a hole forms and moisture penetrates the layers. So be careful with having sharp or pointy things in, on, around your clothing when using these chairs. Speaking to a sales rep, it seems the inner arms are not considered "Touchable Surfaces." I could see some stray keys easily ruining this purchase. Like James says in the video the Faux leather is definitely used to save cost. They do offer warranties that cover these repairs, however it comes at a price. Just a heads up/before you buy for those interested where these details matter. Oh also the Weight limit is 300lbs.

  • Ashley Furniture makes a similar style like this called The Man-Den that includes fenestrated leather on the seating area for extra cooling and they have a slot to drop your phone in for wireless charging. The head rest adjustment isn't as good as this chair though. It goes up and forward instead of just forward, so it really only works if you are 6ft or taller. The base is built to be strong than their typical seating. They have a couch, split seat, and single seat version, all under $2k.

    • My car has leather but it has ventilated seats for the front driver and passenger seat. It’s almost a requirement if you get black leather as it can take the seats from like too hot to sit on to comfortable within like 10-15 seconds of turning it on. And then after 30-45 seconds it actually gets cold enough to feel the cold on ur bum and back. They should make some high end leather chairs with built in cooling. I’m sure they already exist lol, but I just use a super cheap office chair thats like 7 years old as my computer chair. Never had any comfort issues with it so I’m not gonna spend hundreds of bucks on a chair.

    • @@mikeycrackson Depends on the synthetic leather you use. A friend of mine worked for an upholsterer and he had Mercedes synthetic leather in his unairconditioned old Porsche. I was amazed that it didn't give me a sweaty back on a hot summer day.

      @CheapBastard1988@CheapBastard19882 жыл бұрын
    • Synthetic leather is less breathable than real leather. Ashley Furniture makes a similar style of chairs/couches like this called The Man-Den that includes fenestrated leather on the seating area and has a slot to drop your phone in for wireless charging. The head rest adjustment isn't as good as this chair though. It goes up and forward instead of just forward, so it really only works if you are 6ft +.

  • Ain't bad, good color choice. Also, not terribly overpriced. Given its actual target demographic and audience. I would even go to say it's about middle of the road in price. Wouldn't spend less than $1000 on a theatre chair and it would have to have the same reclining features as that chair. I think the ones I have in my living room might have been near $1000 from Ashley's more expensive collection. Does all of those reclining modes and zones without the LEDS and cup holders. Has the lumbar and headrest adjustment as well. And when you retract the footrest, it retracts/resets everything, which can be annoying at times.

  • Thanks for mentioning the door width. Not everyone thinks about doing that with major purchases. I live in a 130 year old house - doorways are kinda small. Couches need their feet taken off and I can barely fit appliances through, lol
