World's Quickest SUVs: Rivian R1S vs Aston DBX 707 vs Cayenne Turbo GT - Cammisa's Drag Race Replay
With the help of the Maserati MC20, this is another record-breaking drag-race! This time, the award goes to the quickest-accelerating gasoline-powered SUV ever made. Find out whether that's the Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT Coupe or the Aston Martin DBX707 - and whether either can keep up with the electric, four-motor, 835-hp Rivian R1S Launch Edition.
The last time we included a Rivian, the R1T left the world's fastest pickup trucks in its dust. With the same powertrain and a couple fewer pounds, can the Rivian R1S SUV extend its reign?
The Cayenne GT shares its platform and engine with other Volkswagen-group SUVs (the Lamborghini Urus, Bentley Bentayga, and Audi RSQ8, to name a few) and its 631-hp output is just 10 shy of the top-dog Urus'. However, the Porsche proves even quicker than the Lamborghini.
Meanwhile, the 707 is the 707-hp (metric) version of Aston's beautiful SUV - with an AMG 4.0-liter V-8 and 9-speed transmission with a wet clutchpack. Can its clutch-dump launch beat the Porsche's torque-converter, brake-torque launch?
Or will the Porsche's 80-treadwear Pirelli Corsa tires claw that advantage back?
Either way, the winner gets to race the carbon-fiber Maserati MC20, the brand's first supercar since it divorced Ferrari. The Maserati Nettuno 3.0-liter V-6 makes outrageous amounts of power - 621 hp, just ten shy of the Porsche - and it weighs 1200 lb less. So it should be an easy win for the Maserati.
Oh, but that would be discounting that Porsche Magic.
It's all on display in this last episode for the 2022 season of Cammisa's Ultimate Drag Race Replay. Caution: Baby On Board!

This is such a great show. The special effects combined with the knowledge & humor of Haggerty makes it perfect.
they will get old quick..
@@OutsideDuhBox Totally doubt it. I still don't see any car KZhead channel can match Hagerty's video production level.
It's so subtle, but I especially liked 9:18 (pun intended). There are quite some derps on KZhead that would've said _"the Aston was slower than the Porsche until 120 mph",_ just because it wasn't in front. Do these people ever realize once you're behind, you *have to be* faster to catch up? 😂 These videos are just something else. Totally agree, never had more fun watching cars not taking a single corner 😁
PUT SOME RESPECT ON THE NAME! Its Hagerty.
@@OutsideDuhBox why?
The transition & editings are insane. Kudos to the team!!
I'll never get tired of the slow mo editing where he's walking along side the cars explaining the times as if he's The Flash.
Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT Coupe is insane piece of Engineering and a testament to the GT department.
Yes, lovely car. When I will have money, I will buy this car, nothing other. Only Porche, built quality is TOP Level!
@@MoyzonRecords I have a 2014 Porsche Cayenne 4.2 V8 diesel i have it tuned to 440 bhp and I love it! If I had the money I would have the GT in a heartbeat.
Nazi car
Yes, and you know, just normal, usual, Porsche things.
The GT department wasn't in charge of it neither did AP have any oversight in it. Just a naming convention. The car was built out of spite since the Cayenne platform and engine is all Porsche stuff, they weren't too happy that they were being undermined by Lamborghini and thought they should have the fastest SUV.
"I pull out fast" killed me)) stupidly legendary show!
I missed that joke until your comment! Thanks 🤣🤣🤣
best 'baby on board' style sign yet.
I wish I could say the same 😅😪
Hey Hagerty, where can we get one of those window stickers?
2.8 seconds 0-60 is absolutely mind blowing for a SUV! Porsche really knows how to build cars! 👏
Tyre upkeep would be cripplingly expensive though

Brilliant production here. Great storylines and so much fun. One of my top 3 Series. Bravo Jason and team
Love Jason and Randy’s candor with each other. It’s a great car show and always makes me laugh.
The editors, commentary and the entire crew are absolutely killing it🔥
writing could be better and less corny.
I have to disagree. They are doing the exact same thing in every video. It was great the 1st time, but you can now play all their videos side by side, and they are identical other than the cars.
@@OutsideDuhBox You can still be corny in writing.

The Cammisa episodes on this channel are some of the most entertaining automotive content I've seen in a long time. Every episode I end up wishing there was more. It rivals Top Gear in knowledge, execution, comedy, and being downright awesome. CAN'T WAIT to see more next year.
Happy new year 2023, Marcus Gomez.
Stop comparing everything to Top Gear.
Yea I used to hate this guy when he was on the other channel I forget what it was. I was in the comment section saying this guys ruining the show over and over he needs to go than one day he was gone. Does anyone remember what show that was on KZhead he used to be on?
@@mr.fukk12 Motor Trend?
This is easily the best car channel on KZhead! The commentary is gold, and the editing is out of this world!
The finish line edit was absolutely insane. “Getting out” of the moving Rivian blew my mind 🤯😍
I’ve skipped so many drag race shows but NEVER these. They are so well done from start to finish! And the editing is gorgeous!
This and Carwow have the best drag races this one for the cinematography carwow for the funny factor although this is funny too.

Hello there!
Except it's better
The production quality is leagues above motortrend's
It’s cooler. Jason is in a league of his own right now.
BECAUSE JASON CAMMISA WAS AT MOTORTREND 10 YRS AGO RIGHT HAHA
More races with the MC20 please 😍
I love these reviews, so entertaining and I totally agree the special effects are fantastic please keep them coming.
Jason is such a treasure. Worth absolutely every cent you pay him.
Is he the one who acts like Ryan Reynolds?
He’s actually volunteering
They don't actually pay him, he just sort of turns up each morning.
That’s actually Adam Sandler
Sorry but you’re all wrong. It’s actually an animatronic representation of Adam Sandler.
2.8 Sec for a SUV is insane. I don’t think yall understand how Crazy this is
Model x plaid is even faster ran high 9s with 6 adults in it on the dragtimes channel and does 0-60mph in 2.3s or less. 👍🏻😎

“Motors in the wrong, dang place” 😂😂
These Porsches are insane 😮
Freaking great production! Good to see the dynamic duo back in action! Thank you!!!!
La elaboración de los video son de una calidad insuperable en el ámbito profesional. Los felicito son los mejores en comparación de autos y camionetas.
Haha, I lost it at Randy's little Hell Yeah at the end. Thanks Jason and the team for making an amazing year of car content. It is truly some of the best content out there.
The Turbo GT is too fast to be an SUV bro, God that thing is fast 💨
Porsche for the win! You can keep that ridiculous 7K pound EV brick with the ugly front end.
@@993mike I can’t believe it’s even legal to sell something that heavy. Imagine trying to come to a sudden stop

I love the way they edit their videos and the narratives. Always a joy watching them!
never seen a video so cool and well done.. i was watching multiple drag races of top channels and this has top them all ! the king when it comes to effects, tech and explanation of models.. amazing!!
Walking out of the Rivian as it’s moving is movie magic! Jason and Randy never disappoint.
NO BABY ON BOARD I pull out fast 😂 Under-appreciated, lol. Can I just say that Cammisa’s segments are the best thing in all of TV. Seriously, what an awesome year for this channel.
Searching Amazon now lol
Randy almost broke Jason at the beginning there 😂 great video as always y'all!
Amazing content. I love the slow mo aspect. The transition was smooth and flawlessly executed
Dang, ever since I encountered the HAGERTY channel I’ve been hooked. From the outstanding automotive journalism to the brilliant used, the hosts and the best part of all, the heart racing vehicles featured. I’m absolutely stoked to see what 2023 brings, who knows, maybe I’ll get to meet some of the hosts.
The thing about the Rivian is it is an honest, off-road brick. It's basically like putting a Land Cruiser in this race, but it actually does well.
Also, with the Rivian's weight, you don't want it going faster than 110 anyways. If a vehicle with that much mass tboned another car at 140, it would obliterate them to atoms.
Exactly i was wanted to say that even though Rivian SUV lost here against the other super-expensive vehicles, i would still choose Rivian but in a pick-up form with 4 motors & top max-pack battery.. and by the way i'm European.. Happy New Year Everyone !
@@rabd3721 yeah cause a ferrari would just be like a stiff breeze. Foh
@@mattbrew11 Um, a Ferrari is like 3200 lbs lol. Yeah it'll do damage but not like a Rivian would at that speed. Rivians are easily 7000lbs. More than twice the weight of a Ferrari. You foh
The Rivian is a brick that can go fast and is limited at 110 (they need to up it to 120) The Rivian can carry a HELL of alot more with more people in it, and go about the same speed The Rivian can go more off road more than a Land Cruiser Can the others do this? Thats the point of the Rivian. Its not the best at one thing, its very good at ALL things.
These videos are so well executed. Keep em coming!
WOW, what an adventure. I love this channel.....the ideas and video editing as well as the narration are phenomenal. I'm genuinely happy to support ya---you deserve it.

First: Jason, keep doing what you do, man. You've become my favorite auto journalism presenter. Second: my god if that Maserati isn't just plain gorgeous. Whew...
I am a senior citizen so probably not in your target demographic, but I have to agree your stuff seems technically sound along with being immensely entertaining. Please keep up the great work you are doing.
I just love this series so freaking much......this one now sits on the top of my fav car shows
Awesome content especially the technical mumbo jumbo! Love the tech stuff.
The MC20 is made with double wishbones in the front and rear, which makes it better in the corners than a high specced 911. It's designed not to go in straight lines. The fact that it's also putting in great quarter mile times makes it a very scary car.
Seriously. RWD benefits from a grippy surface much more than AWD, and I can absolutely see the MC20 doing 10s stock in the 1/4 on a prepped surface. I would love to throw one of those around a track.
The latest Ferrari, the 296, has just switched to a multi link rear suspension setup, which is what the 911 has had for decades… I adore the MC20, but it won’t see which way a Porsche GT product has gone around pretty much any track
@Greg Mayled , on equal tires, that's simply not true. The MC20 is unfortunately sold with the awful new Bridgestone Potenzas (the same tire that ruined the Huracan STO). Double wishbones front and rear are what F1 uses. The only reason Ferrari and Porsche used a multi-link is the packaging difficulties of a wide-angle V engine (the McLaren Artura had to do the same btw).
@@flyingphoenix113 an MC20 on Cup 2’s would not be faster than any RS of the last 4 years on the same tyre. And the reason Porsche doesn’t run double wishbone on the rear is also because of the geometry and control arm requirements from having the weight bias so far rearward. Ferrari’s of old used to have double wishbone all round, even going back to the 308, manufacturers tend to use what is necessary and what suits the given application
@@flyingphoenix113 the MC20 also weighs 1700kg with fluids…
