I miss Operations from BF1 it would've been so cool to see something like that in this game
Operation was so insane. Having multiple game modes spanned across two or three maps was insane

The gameplay of Operations is exactly the same as Breakthrough, minus the map switching and historical context.

Indeed. Was a truly new experience. Miss it a lot. Loved the extended version too with several maps, and where we could earn crates at the end when we reached a certain amount of points. Was so many great skins to earn in BF1 too
The G46 is 100% based on the G36 carbine which is why it feels like an smg
Yeah and I think that the m5 ar is 100% based on the m4
Kinda wish it was treated like the BSV-M with modularity in stopping power - like imagine allowing an extended barrel to make it a normal G36 and even 40-round or even an MG36 with 100-round drums + custom optic

It's based on the G36K which stands for Kurz. The C in G36C stands for Compact, yeah it's weird.

Didn't think I'd see mini grenades making a return. Looking forward to using the trusty RPG and the Desert Eagle though as the 44. Magnum has been lonely.

It did feel particularly snappy. I was surprised.

Wow, the animators did good on the G36 reload. Also running looks so much better with the new camera shake.
I've heard that they'll rework the camera movement system later so it might be better
@SolisFactor you aren’t seeing the new camera shake yet in this video. that will likely come a little into the season. If you thought you saw a change then it’s placebo.

Another great informative video from you, I’m looking forward to this map even more now, especially hearing it’s more infantry focussed as I was just thinking recently how useless all my SMGs are in the all the mid range maps we have. Not too fussed about the grenades not being impressive, with DICE nerfing Irish I’m happy with grenades that aren’t too good. How powerful was the AA gun?

IMO, all of the maps in this tier (new season map) should have full 128 player AoW support. Having said that, season 5 (and seven map reworks) feels a bit like a gift since it is technically beyond the promised support, and certainly well beyond any legal requirements. I am buying the the S5 premium pass to cast my vote for a full second year of live service.
I’d like to know how your aim is smooth on controller on pc. I’ve tried using mine but when I aim down sight it’s so jittery and buggy. Can anyone help on how to fix this please ?

Id like to see more options for the bot matches as its sometimes just a fun mode to chill on.
For bot matches, solo/coop and Portal offer pretty much anything you'd want, no need to worry about filling the server. Unless I'm missing something.

The map looks like a blast. The guns seem very meh. Not like bad, but very generic fps entries we’ve used a lot before.

Damn, was hoping the rumors of the map being based on Giants were true. I hope they don't completely forget about the 2141 prequel gives from Final Stand.
Really hope they buff the attack choppers. They feel like transports with little bird HP. The the glass was bulletproof and they could move a little better would be nice.

The new map needs a rework the c1 objective for breakthrough is not able to be breachable to get the objective

The jets in 2042 need a massive speed boost. Idk why dice decided to put in jets that feel slower than props. You should be zooming through the sky, not floating lol

wish I could bring myself to play reclaimed and S5, but with how dice behaved a couple weeks ago towards the community, I cannot do it. Not initially at least, maybe I'll check it out in a month or two.

Did you notice if the input felt any better? As a console player the one thing keeping me from playing this game is how janky it feels to aim and track targets. While the input has been bugged since the beta, the aim response curve is also off compared to previous Battlefield games. Going back and playing BFV/1/4 the difference in how it feels to aim is like night and day.
This is why I want mouse and keyboard support for consoles. If you gonna make me compete against PC then at least let me play that way also. Yeah yeah play on PC they will say. Well how about no.

It was fixed for all of two weeks when season 3 launched, or maybe season 2? But they completely broke it again with the next update. The Battlefield franchise is dead, and I take absolutely no pleasure whatsoever in saying that. It was my most beloved franchise ever, along with GTA.
@@FEWGEE1 yeah it was better when season 3 launched and then it got worse all of a sudden. It was bad even during the beta. They still cannot fix the issue for some reason. It’s the biggest issue in the game imo.

Why nobody talks how the new movement feels
The thing is, EA said the map would basically just be an old map 38 years in the future or atleast an area where a map took place. No BF4 maps took place in czechoslovakia....
Dice nor EA dont said that . They said this map is set in battlefield 4 universe .
I wouldn’t mind coming back to try the game since I haven’t played since the beta but I’m not interested in unlocking all of the weapons. Seems like it might be an awful grind.

Its supposed to be the most modern version of frostbite 💀 2042 is such a failure its not even funny. The game was legitimately dead, decaying, and riddled with bots before it went free to play.

You know what game is polished and still feels like BF4? ...... BF4! We out here keeping that game alive. But seriously, they should just take BF3 and BF4 and make BF7. Mix all the DLC, remaster it, and then add some new DLC (maybe add a map creator like forge). We'll be happier and they'll still be richer.

I don’t like dice giving the g36 with an 20 round mag at the beginning and rewards you with an 30 extended mag, should started with 30 rounder and give us 40 round extended mag, pretty lame and uncompetitive gun, feels the same way of how the way bf4 g36 felt neutered with terrible accuracy

@@Lomi311 I may be the only person but I want more of what season 3 brought more semi futuristic guns not lasers or plasma rifles with the 40 watt range. Yes these guns are like what levelcap said they seem like vault weapons just not called them.

As for me, I wish Battlefield would get back to it's REAL roots: Battlefield 1942. Personally not a fan of BF3 or BF4. IMHO EA pushed DICE to make BF3 & 4 more to the liking of COD fans. BF1942 had maps that were more infantry focused and large maps. The two 2042 portal maps do not do justice to the original maps. And the expansion packs for BF1942 were not free, each expansion cost nearly as much as the base game. Maybe DICE should change back to this method of release, thereby generating additional revenue for EA.
I'll buy the game when the shitty operators are removed and the wingsuit guy is added from the trailer. I dont want to run around shooting a guy who looks exactly like me and all of my teammates

Just started playing the game a couple months ago when I heard it was getting ready to leave Early Access. Glad to see the first update is shaping up to be pretty good. If they keep this up for another year or 2 then we might get the best BF in the franchise.

I still don’t understand, why there is no way to at least DESELECTED the maps i DONT want to play in MM!? Last night, 4 times the same map. I don’t see this game ever reaching its potential without persistent servers. Dice could easily buy themselves a lot of time until the next BF game by adding more stuff. Hell Make the next seasons like old BF 3 and 4 Paid DLCs but with 3-4 maps each. Enough with the “legacy future” bs and using the original map reworks as ‘new content’. Move on. Be the old Dice. Every 3 months, 3-4 maps shouldn’t be so hard. Some new vehicles maybe too. Also, I really really miss Levolution. I don’t care if its scripted. It always added something cool to the map. The entire Climate change war torn world was completely ignored by Dice. Yeah sandstorm here and there. But really these storms have no effect on the map. What about snowstorms, earthquakes, fires, avalanches, rising waters…I mean Give me an hour with Dice and a white board. 2042 could be great not just ok. To bad.

Now that the game is a complete mess, I would love to give a try, but if DICE/EA think they deserve 60$ they are still missing the point. If they want the goodwill and trust of the community, this game should 20$ max, as an apology for the past two games. As of now, still charging full price for this, only fixed 2 years later, just means I have no reason to buy the next BF either, because they clearly haven't learned.

Funny thing is older game in serious where only popular due to innovation . And they tried to renovate the battlefield formula which nostalgia bots dont understand
