  • This fight is a scar in my memory. It was an absolute roller coaster, watching it live was the closest you can get to taking drugs without ingesting something. To hear Goddard break it down like this not only took me right back to the fight, but also provided so much more clarity to what I was witnessing. There were so many moments where I thought it was undoubtedly over, only to have Izzy or Gastelum come right back to life. Any other ref would stopped this fight a hundred times, and we are blessed that Goddard was in there. Absolutely insane. Good shit to both you.

    • I didnt see many times to actually stop the fight, maybe the last rnd when Gastelum went down. The rest of the fight both got hurt in moments but I never felt it should/would of been stopped.

    • ya its terrible because its a tricky sly way for espn to hinder people from streaming their archives and using up their bandwidth. Even FINDING fight pass and then the interface to find your video you want to watch are terrible and time consuming. THeyre hoping you give up and dont use their bandwidth then they just pocket the subscription money without having to support the infrastructure.

  • This episode of Listen! should be compulsory viewing for all MMA fans and probably the fighters too. I think the standard of referees in the UFC is pretty damn high tbh, it's the judges that need to improve. A big thank you must be said to Marc for explaining the reasons behind the decisions judges make for the umptienth time, I imagine that he must be sick of it by now.

    • I can't watch the guy. He's an arrogant swine. You don't see good refs in the fights. He's always making himself front and centre. He was trying to break up Masvidal & Usman when they were showing respect after their fight.

      @MarkSiosal@MarkSiosal3 жыл бұрын
    • @@MarkSiosal You're a pompous ass. The moments in which you see good referees in fights is when they make the correct split-second decision to intervene or not intervene with the welfare of the fighter at the forefront of their mind. You're calling Goddard arrogant for articulating why he acted in the manner that he did for the fights he discussed with Hardy. It's no different than Big John McCarthy defending several of his past decisions on his podcast with Josh Thomson, or Herb Dean giving insight on some of the high-profile stoppages he issued throughout his career (e.g., Mir vs. Sylvia at UFC 48) on Joe Rogan's podcast. Fuck yourself.

    • @@amarkk7 oooo....roozy woozy.😁 Putting words in people's mouths is what disingenuous wankspangles do. Good refs are the ones you never see. Goddard likes to be front & centre. He thinks there are 3 stars in the octagon. You never see or hear Herb, Peterson, Herzog etc, but you can count on Goddard to be bellowing away like a foghorn. He comes across as an arrogant prick. Can't hack it & vanishes for 6 months when he gets criticised. Given this is all subjective, you can't tell me i'm wrong either. Bit like saying a particular food is awful or that a comedian isn't funny....in your opinion maybe, but it's not indesputable fact. Now go choke on Dan's dick, fucko. Toodle pip.🥴

Just remember how our grandfathers were brothers in arms in WW 1-2......are you watch DWCS last night....Dena took from 5 fights only 3 guys all from here...and 4 other guys(and a girl) who lost, were from USA. This is indicator for good work in EU. Also KSW, CW, ABC....And last Bellators London event was beautifull. Those things will make our children better in this sport. Becouse to go train from Nederland or Slovenia into Poland-etc is much easyer then go to USA..... This new fans from Europ are so stupid. I hate very much when they troling our guys and praising americans, without realising that we are too small to fight with each other. Also you cant deny that we are pretty much likewise. For sure in facial and cultural similarity. Everybody must to have a tribe, especially in sports...For those stupid guys:" We are a tribe, like it or not.".....lets go brother

S/O for him talking bout this

  • Seeing this makes me wonder why refs don't sometimes transition to becoming judges of the sport. They clearly have a deep understanding of the sport and, as we see with Goddard, some actually do train in one way or another. I think they are just much more qualified to be saying who wins or loses compared to the traditional judges who come from boxing and even then have no clue what they're seeing. If I seen Big John McCarthy as a judge I know the decision would be more sound than if I saw Adalaide Byrd.
