"Dan is a better striker than I am" This is why everyone loves George. The most pure and honorable MMA athlete of all time.
George better overall but even his coach Firas Zahabi mentioned they were wary of Dan's dangerous power hand. And Dan obviously has superhuman mental strength to survive George's submission attempt.
That’s why GSP was so damn good. He took everything seriously! He used his fears to make himself better. If he thought Dan was a better striker, I’m sure he worked until he puked to make sure he was ready...

Too humble actually, he's got way better MMA striking than Hardy. In a pure kickboxing match maybe not.

@Daniel Dimino Georges didn't get the ideal angle on it. Honestly, I was not impressed with the performance of his submission attempt..lol. The set up was good, but the finish, not so good.
That juji that George is talking about is what Danaher teaches now. But back then it was conventionally accepted that the best armbar was with one leg over the sternum.

I wasn’t much of a Dan Hardy fan back when he was fighting. I respected that he had one punch knock out power, but after his retirement and him becoming a commentator, I truly like his genuine personality. Good guy!
I always liked him! His energy just before a fight was fun to watch, and his striking was next!

Dan and Georges should collaborate on something. Their personalities mesh well. I'm curious to see what Georges decides to do in the media going forward. I know he's commentating for the quebecois broadcast. Rogan wanted Georges to join him for a fight companion podcast and I felt Georges missed an opportunity there.

GSP has every fighter's respect because he's the paragon of a mixed martial artist. He didn't want to be weak anywhere, so he made himself good everywhere and he had the talent and work ethic to pull it off. And he always keeps it classy to boot.

Robbie lawler has the ability to hold a decent conversation as well as flex seal holds out water. Not good at all.

These two really aged well. GSP is already a legend. Dan has evolved to become a top class MMA analyst and still getting better. Great interview.

George is so humble, and he puts everyone over which makes him even more likable... truly one of the best to ever do it!
But Dan is also a very nice and humble guy. Both are a very good example for the sport; not like stupid McAsshole or Rousey.

I always look forward to his commentary because of the passion he has for MMA.... I wish he'd take one more scrap! He's got that Dog still inside him 100% and he's only become better with time. I feel like he could actually make a decent run at the title.
@@superjoseco7279 Conor was at least respectful after fights, but Rousey was always a straight up POS. Conor became worse as time moved on and his respect for Cowboy seemed kinda fake like he was just doing it for the crowd.

I remember watching this fight and GSP is a genius. Even though eh dominated Hardy. He couldn’t finish him. He ended up practicing the arm bar in the back with Danaher. Because he was mad he didn’t finish Hardy with that arm bar. He is very dedicated. It’s crazy. How much he pays attention to details, but that’s what made him so great. Hardy was on a tare at that time. Side not: I can’t believe Dan Hardy fought Anthony Johnson lol.

I've watched this 3 times now and I never get sick of listening to these guys. GSP is such a class act and Dan Hardy is a great talker. His takeways from the fight are so profound, like how he realized efter fighting GSP that he was never supposed to be the greatest fighter, but what an honor it was to have shared the octagon with him. Dan says it was a humbling experience, and he might be one of the few people I actually believe saying that.
these interviews need to be a regular thing. after watching this im convinced convinced gsp would beat khabib. would be very close though

This was a nice walk down memory lane. Loved seeing these 2 great athletes sharing their thoughts on their epic battle. Both are very classy individuals and have lots of respect for eachother.
George is total class. He totally dominated his opponent, and yet made this interview complimentary to him.

Dan is so different out of the cage; he always seemed criminally insane before a fight, really scary. Hes my favorite commentator now, I wish he and Goodman would call lots more fights.
This is so wholesome to watch. Two professionals, once at the top of their game, coming back together to watch through their battle whilst showing respect to each other. So much fun to watch!
Georges was very humble in this interview. Totally outclassed Dan in the fight but he showed him a lot of respect here.

2 amazing martial artists and 2 great gentlemen outside the octagon. Gsp was one of the greatest fighters of all time. Dan Hardy was such a great fighter , great to watch and definitely was good enough to have been a champion. His knowledge as a commentator and pundit is amazing. He really knows his stuff. A massive respect to both of these men. And what a fantastic fight it was.
