Hey Pan love your videos!!! I have a question. Do you recommend the waffle style that looks like hills for paint correction or flat pads like with honey combs or plain flat pads?? What kit do you recommend for least aggressive to aggressive correction. I’m using a rotary Mikita buffer. Please help this is something else I want to add to my skill set. Thank you in advanced
Awsome
Pan, thanks for having Yvan on your channel for this topic. His methods work, and are simple. He’s an amazing teacher, and it’s obvious he loves what he does.

I just ordered some of your guys interior cleaner from watching Pans interior cleaner battle! I've been detailing for almost 2 years now and I have a good feeling about following you guys when I decide to start diving into paint correction. Best video I've seen so far!! Also.. Hi Pan :)
Pan, I have been cleaning and detailing my cars for many years and I learned something new today, to help me improve my pad selection and my technique. Excellent as always and the simplest form of gratitude is to say..Thank you... that was direct and informative. Kudos to you and your team. all the best.
Great to hear!

Good initiative on your part Pan. Yvan and the other guy are also Pros at what they do and this video provided a 101 demo on buffing. Very informative and easy to follow/understand.

The DIY products are my favorite line of products and their customer service and education are top class! When I first got back into detailing the process of understanding polishers and pads were overwhelming! You just have to start working different products to begin to understand what works together. I am the oddball who likes using the flex 3401 original version for cutting and the corded rotary for polishing. If I ever get a shop big enough for boats then I will buy a 21mm random orbital polisher! Thank you for the video Pan!
Thank You Neil.
Ive worked at many different shops, under many different bosses, with many different detailers and i swear that everyone is gonna have a completely different way of doing things and theyre all gonna contradict what the next guy is gonna tell you. Today i feature products for the detail garage and im the lead detailer at VIP in So Cal. So anyways, i seen a video of DIY Detail giving a product review on Chemical Guys VSS diminishing abrasive combined with a MICROFIBER pad and all i could do was laugh as he was not impressed with the results 😂 I finally came to the conclusion that nobody is ever wrong, we will always fine tune our combinations and techniques while considering the methods of others
Pan, I’ve been quietly binging your videos for a little over a month now. I have to say, I am throughly impressed with not only your content, but your videography, audio knowledge, and your genuine love to share your passions. I was taking my all blacked out 2014 ram 1500 to the car wash for many years and the paint has suffered greatly. I recently purchased a lot of cheap and basic upgrades for my pressure washer and started to wash my truck myself. I’ve very quickly learned through your videos what to do, how to implement, and what to get to up my game and make my life easier and more efficient. I truly thank you for your dedication and heart to share for someone like myself that is just starting out. My truck is in need of some good polishing so I’ll be working my way into it using this video and the others you’ve done to get started.

Hey Pan, can we get another video about the pads? And possibly a video about sanding the paint and then polishing?
Hello Lads, A great production from you all.👍 It was very interesting to listen to Yvan and Nick. I am completing readjusting my approach to paint correction on the basis of Yvan's comments. One aspect, I have always done and it is great to hear Yvan's comments, is to jewel with a rotary. The difference in gloss is substantial. I have used Menzern's P085rd as a jewelling polish for many years. I am very keen to try their 'Gold Standard.' I notice Clean your Car, here, in Britain have started stocking their products. Once again a great video. It would be great to go for a beer with you all and 'chew the fat' about detailing.👍👍👍

Pan, thank you for an excellent video. Very informative, Yvan and Nick certainly have simplified the polishing process. Gentlemen, I am new to this level of detailing. I have been enjoying both channels - thank you Pan and DIY. Would you recommend it over the true dual action for a first machine?

Those polishers are still considered “dual-action” because yes, the backing plate still performs two actions. The gear throwing the plate, and the plate free spinning in motion-free spinning is still an action, regardless of stall or not.

Merci
M. Cardinal, merci beaucoup!
Super! Merci Jean-Guy!
I am painter in production collision center, always have used rotary but I see more and more the dual action polishers coming into auto body world I have tried 3m new random orbital system and it just took to long to get wet sand scratches out even after finishing 3000 grit.. I have not used a gear driven style polisher tho. Would you guys say that the gear driven polishers are the best of both worlds when it comes to combining cutting like rotary but finishing like random orbital?

So I promised myself to give back to the community and help others if my channel ever got big. So here I am, keeping my promise. :) All I ask from the KZheadrs is that they give good tips and tricks to my viewers. They have to share their passion and knowledge, and be a positive influence in the detailing world. :)

Great video guys! Question for you. I repaired a rust spot on my truck. Took it down to bare metal. bondo, primer, paint and then clear coat. I hand sanded with 1000, 2000, 2500, 3000, 5000 and then used a scratch remover polish. The problem I have is its still very "cloudy" looking. My guess is I did not sand long enough and the clear coat is still orange peel looking causing the cloudiness. Can I just start over now? Can I go back and resand it but due a better job of it? Thanks.
After the sanding, try rubbing compound buffer step before final polishing.

Can you please comment: After painting car using PPG top of the line clear coat 4 coats and waiting a year for it to all out gas and shrink, what grit should I ultimately wet sand to eliminate orange peel and then what pads, settings, compounds, and polish do you recommend? Your thoughts would be very greatly appreciated,
I've been using my griots 6" random orbital for a while and its done the job nicely. One day I'll upgrade to polisher with a larger orbit
Perfect
Thank you for this video Pan! I’m about to attempt to paint correct my new M4 and I was a bit worried before watching this video.
Nothing to be worried about. I got you covered. See my paint correction tutorial for beginners here: kzhead.info/sun/qNethKmOfn-Fh4E/bejne.html
Thank you, please report back with your results.
Hey Pan really enjoy your videos ! I have a question am I able to do a polish on PPF as my front end and hood has a PPF film on it. I have over spray all over my vehicle from spraying a countertop outside 50 ft away, I guess the wind brought it into my garage 😢 thanks
Yes you can polish PPF. Just use a light polish like Sonax Perfect Finish and a yellow Rupes foam pad.
Awesome! I really enjoyed watching it. I just started my own small detailing garage and I’m mostly working for free, dirt cheap, because there are so many things that I still don’t know or understand. Neither do I know how to price stuff. If I have to be truthful I hate and love it at the same time. I do 2 phases on the paint for 2-3 days for like 10-12 hours a shift with the taping and cleaning after it. But still when I see the result. Even if it’s not the best of quality I really like it. I still need a lot of newbie information so if you have videos about lighting and lamps I’ll kiss your feet. Because I’ve done an Audi Q5 black and have no idea if there are stilll any holograms or not because there is no sun and I tried 4 different lamps and can’t see anything 😢
Hey fellas , can you use the rotory for applying and taking off wax? Let's say from a motorcycle or car?
Great video again, thank you guys ! What pad do you recommand with a 15mm DA that have enough cut for Gelcoat on a boat ? Purpol wool pad ? Used to have a wool pad on a rotary, but it seems a DA can have more cut...
Great video !
Glad you enjoyed it! How did you discover my channel by the way? Welcome to my channel. Perfect timing Pan, I have an Amazon cart with polishing pads I'm thinking of getting, now I know I'll be getting the correct ones!! BTW, I tossed all of the pads I had been using on my MINI Cooper. I just didn't think I'd be in a nice enough car again to even care. I never gave up my Griots Random Orbital Polishers, though. I have both a 3" and a 6", can't wait to see if I'm doing anything right!!
😁👍🏻
Perfect
This was soooo good! Thank u pan , Yvan, and Nick! Ive been "detailing" my personal cars for about 30 years and FINALLY feel its time for that next step. I really appreciated this and now subscribed to their channel. Im getting the confidence on purchasing my own equipment. Just trying to learn before i pull the trigger since I'm a novice in this area of detailing.
Our pleasure Ramon! You can do it! :)
Great news!
Hi Pan great video and kudos to you and the DIY Detail Guys you save me before now i have a cat who put some light scratches all over a black ceramic coating car . I know you mentioned carpro essences plus on another video with Yvan but do i need to reapply the ceramic. Thanks an advance
Excellent video Pan! Always nice to see the cornerstones of the detailing world come together for a collaboration. I did not know that about the waffle foam pads. Do you have a good recommendation concerning those?
Thanks again! Links to the pads are in the description under the video.
Thank you
Purple pad is the absolute perfect one step pad for any type of paint when used with hybrid compound. Of course you can do a second pass with soft foam pad and a dedicated polish for even nicer finish. When I attack a car I wash and decontaminate the paint. Then wetsan all the deep scratches. Grab my rotary and pass over the wet sanded areas with wool pad and old faithful m105 by meguires. Then hybrid compound the entire car with a DA 21mm long throw with purple wool pad followed by turtle wax hybrid polish and wax on a red foam pad using the same DA. But I have 28 years experience and thats the fastest way I can achieve the results I desire
Excellent!
Pan the man awesome video sir
Thank you!
can the Gold Standard Polish go on top of a ceramic or graphene coat? Or do you use this after a sealant or wax?
Neither! A polish is an abrasive used to correct the paint: remove defects like swirls/scratches and oxidation, boost gloss, add clarity etc. Once you are done with the paint correction (machine polishing), you apply the protection which can be a wax, sealant or ceramic coating. Also, I highly recommend that you watch my Detailing 101 series for beginners, where I explain different steps like iron removers, clay bar, polishing, protection, etc. It's super simple once you understand the basics, and your car will look and feel 100x better!
