This video shows a flight from Scotland to Iceland. A classic route for an Atlantic crossing with a light aircraft.
ATC is recorded and additional information of the flight is provided by subtitles and photos.
The flight was conducted for A2B, a very professional and reputable ferry flight company.

One of the many things I love about your flights, Guido, is your professionalism. Checklists, checklists, checklists. And, if in doubt, use the checklist. Breeds the right attitude and skill sets. I also the fact that your flights aren't music videos, and that you don't dramatize. No, I'm not a real world pilot, although I do have hours in a props, jets, and helicopters. At my age, and because I am disabled, getting my PPL is beyond my abilities. But, I still love aviation.
+Dan Ward Thank you, Dan. I am "just a pilot" and far from perfect, like any other human being. Procedures and checklists help me to minimize the screw up in flight... They day you do the "perfect" flight, it's time to retire. I try to keep the videos "clean" without any fuzz, music, special effects and drama. They are supposed to be entertaining, with a spice of education as well. Go to the nearest flight school and book a introduction fight with an instructor. The schools offer this at a special rate. Thanks Guido Warnecke, once again, because through your videos I can learn more about aviation (I am a pilot), and I can see amazing scenes, like this Catalina (PBY) that you parked next in Reykjavik. In the 60's and 70's the Brazilian Air Force used these aircraft to support the population in the Amazon region including the indigenous people. I lived in a city in the state of Pará (SBAA) from 1964 to 1974 and at this time I flew a lot in PBY and DC-3 of the Brazilian Air Force (I was not a pilot yet), good memories. When I became a pilot, I went flying in the jungle (SBIH) in a gold mining region (Piper Navajo, PA-31). I also flew 50 hours (as a co-pilot) on a DC-3. God bless you Guido ...

Hi Guido. This flight had me recalling the wonderful time I spent in Iceland (Keflavik) back in 1987 while I was in the military. I spent six months living there and it was fantastic! Iceland is one of the most beautiful countries I have ever visited! Thanks for sharing!! On a number of occasions, my friends and I would tour the island and I vividly remember Reykjavik and the Hard Rock Cafe we stopped at. I wish I would have been able to fly while there but we were busy with military operations at that time. Best wishes, sir!
Iceland is a great place with friendly people. A bit pricy $$$ though. Seldom I have time to explore as I stay there only overnight and leave early in the morning. Keflavik ist still full with US military aircraft. Happy Landings, Capt. Guido

Hi Guido, I used to work on German air cooled cars and wish I had the diagnostic tools that come with your plane! But I have no hands-on experience with aircraft. Getting all the cylinders to pull equally usually added up to the sweetest running engines. You might ask Mooney or some racers their opinion. The simplest cure that happens in cars is to clean dirty injectors by running fuel conditioner/injector cleaner like Techron in the fuel. Auto gas tends to clog them slightly making the spray vary like a can of spray paint, fine spray when new, blows out coarser spray with gobs when old. I assume the same is true of AVGAS. The fine spray burns clean, the bad spray burns incompletely creating a leaner mixture and sometimes the carbon pits the valve seats. Poor running tends to soot+up the exhaust and perhaps cause some degree of spark knock. A lean cylinder should improve with richening the mixture. And as you say, It could also be all or in part poor ducting. But Mooney has been making planes for a very long time, they should have it right. A little fiddling with the mixture costs nothing and fixing a problem may gain you a few GPH. Good luck with your past-time!

I am a non-rated individual and have had some unique experiences while flying with my rated military colleagues. While seated in flight deck and observing my friend while he was the Pilot Flying shooting a 'no flaps' landing in a C-130 Hercules under the watchful eye of an inspector pilot is a permanent memory for me. I really believe flying professionals such as yourself are gifted individuals. Now, Sir, if we can only get the traffic here in Southern Cali to 'power up' their common sense to 100% before they leave their driveway! Love this video. Flying a Mooney is more related to my personal flying (renting 172 and 182RGs) than a busjet or King Air. There is always something to learn from your videos. This time meticulous engine management and "precedural service" which I haven't come across here in the US yet. I have also never used speed brakes. Was surprised to see them used on short final. Always thought this was a descend only measure.

Guido your videos keep getting better and better I always look forward to a new one. My first imc experience was in a Mooney MC-20 over North Carolina was not IFR rated at the time cause was a busted forecast and me being not as smart as I thought I was. Well I remembered my CFI instructions if that ever happened level the wings watch the airspeed maintain level flight. Well got my IFR cert now CFI as well thing is I'm still learning from your videos as they say you never stop learning happy landings.
