@@Rabbits6ix it's just annoying that , other than the U.S. there's no competition. Countries have had 40 years to build their program but still enter teams that get blown out in every tournament. It's still a 2 country sport. Boring

US goalie was ON her game! What a fantastic, nail-biting game. BOTH teams deserved the win, but only one could have it. Props to the US women, they played a tough, tenacious game.
She let off 6 goals in 30 shots. Thats .800 sv percentage. A near post and a 5-hole blunders from 15 ft away cost the game. It would also help to have idk CHECKING
US goalie was awful especially on the second goal

they did improve their game in 2 years. At Olimpisc only Canada team knew how to play the game and look as the only decent team at the tournament. USA was half of them. Now, 2 years later, US fought til the end. Good for them

@@spittinvenom9843 It had a lot of the top NCAA talent sprinkled in too. In fact the US team was actually more NCAA talent (56% of the team.) While Canada only had 4 NCAA players.

Great goaltenders at both end. They both deserve the gold!
Nuh-uh. Both goalies has about an 80% save percentage in this game. By comparison, they both occupy ~70% of the goal mouth. Meaning: If they'd have stood stock-still the whole game, they wouldn't have fared much worse. Both goalies hugely benefited from the number of shots that were absolutely sprayed all over the place. Too many of that insanely-high number of goals looked more like rugby plays.

My dad moved to the USA about 40 years ago when he was 20 for work he is die hard Canada and I was born here in the states so when ever these two play I'm all USA and hes Canada but at the end of the day I win regardless because I'm half Canadian and American. And I'm proud of both.

I knew Canada would win this game because of their strong presence at their opponents net most of the time and their unshakable determination to succeed. Way-to-go Canadian Ladies, you deserve this one.
The US team was more NCAA all-stars. While the majority of the Canadian team was people from the PWHL. Not surprised Canada won this time. They had a lot more experience, but the future looks really bright for the US team in the future.

Woman's hockey carrying the torch for woman's sports
Women's basketball actually drew a bigger crowd for March madness than the men, and the last women's world cup's had over a billion people globally watch the tournament. Combine that with a rising interest women's hockey, and you have a lot more people taking women's team sports more seriously which is great.

The US team are younger and less experienced. 56% of their team was NCAA stars this past year... while the Canadian team was mostly (83%) women from the PWHL.

Of course if we're talking about what I meant(which is all international hockey over the last 12 months), we're still talking about how the U.S has been cleaning up with last year's men's tournament, the hlinka cup, and now this women's tournament being the only times the US fail to get gold.
