We are students of 3d who did this short about a goddess living in another realm where she protects her planet. We wanted to take advantage of the tools offered by animation movies to convey a green message but in a different way. We tried to do something really different from what animated shorts use to be, there was a lot of effort in the process a lot of things we wanted to ad to the final version but couldn"t. We had to erase a lot of shots of the movie because of production times, but we are really proud of the final result and the fact that we can share it now on the internet and specially on CGBros. We did not have much help neither very easy conditions to work so we had to work in endless hours of hard work. Special thanks to Daniel Garcia Tapia who helped a lot over ligthing and compositing and JL Demian who made a awesome music and sound design.

If I remember correctly, Gea is another name for Mother Earth. She builds the planet, and the encroaching mechanical life changes the whole structure of the planet, destroying Gea and ultimately itself. Brought to you by the friendly people of climate change...

if you ask real scientist they will inform you that the earth naturally heats up every couple of 100,000 years or so and has done all by it self since its birth, this is a perfectly natural process and although I might somewhat agree with you that our species is contributing to this process it is no more that a volcano spewing out its toxic sulphuric fumes, it is inevitable the earth will heat up and their very little we can do to stop it. personally I think we will get through this industrial / technological period, we are as Darwin puts it a species that can adapt to change and will survive. if not then the earth according to you lot is better off with out us which is ironic if you think about it because eventually the sun is going to use its hydrogen fuel and turn into a red giant and burn the earth up anyway. so again if as a species we want to survive we need to become nomads of space or planet hoppers and take the other species of earth with us hopefully.
Key words 'naturally heats up'... We, humans, are making the earth warm up 'unnaturally', and will suffer the consequences for doing so...
please read it again the earth does heat up naturally and we are contributing to this, but even if we wasn't it would still heat up anyway, nobody really knows how our actions effects the global warming in my opinion its a very slight acceleration of the inevitable will we survive it I don't know but hope so. at the end of the day its all about money and greed, solve the global need for money/ wealth and we might stand a chance.
The science is in. Humans are the cause of a huge unnatural spike in global temperatures. Your 'opinion' means nothing (nor does mine). It's all about the data. The data says it's us. All the scientists agree. The Koch brothers even hired a scientist to debunk global warming, the Koch scientist did a review of all the data and concluded it was man made. Please educate yourself.

Amazing. Gea, or should I say Gaea, had revenge against those that destroyed her. It's what we Humans are doing now.
SPECTACULAR! When Mother Nature can no longer keep up with what humanity has done to her and decides to end it all and start over. If only people could see for themselves and stop listening to those saying that "it's the new 'hoax'". We are very near, if not already past, the point of no return.
Awe.... well besides the whole story plot or moral here I'd just like to be one to mention your character make me feel like this E.T. alien creature so adorable with its sloth like way of being who was inside its egg (alien egg, where egg has way to being all he needs a source as way to grow, or survive, his shelter ext.) That hatched finding just himself alone and nothing there except for him and his egg/world... since that's his home, hes collecting what floats or shoots by in space to use to decorate it making his nest... until these outsiders come invade....... or not...? TechNICK Edits if you look carefully, at the end that is a fetus for another Gea, inside the planet where the original slept while the robots took over. It is a metaphor that if an evil manages to take over, the evil will eventually die and the good will regrow from where the evil once lay claim.

I think this is actually representing the Earth. Gea is God/Mother Nature, while the robots are humans. It is saying that we human are destroying the Earth slowly just like those robots and if we don't stop, we will be eventually destroyed.

its Greek mythology and gea is trying to take back what was once hers from the robot which repisent people.
Yes the robots represent people, thats why all of them are in the shape of animals and why there's no natural looking animals on the planet. Also can't help but notice, it looked at the red blob thing for a solid minute and decided to do nothing about it.

the film has a lot of ties to Greek mythology, firstly in the description, two characters were mentioned, a he and a she, I assume the he would be Chaos, the primordial god from which everything was born, and the she being Gea, aka Gaea, aka earth, aother goddess from which human kind came from. But humans became so technologically advance that it started to destroy the earth, Gaea herself. Following the death of Gaea, Chaos was devastated and ultimately destroying himself, meaning destroying the universe, this didn't really happen in Greek mythology, but the name Gea got me tying everything together :)
