  • Trouba is a machine. The way he steps up to hits is so smooth. His skating is so good for a big body

  • coming from a Devils fan. Trouba is a master of massive yet clean hits. honestly an art form almost lost in today's game of hockey.

    • Alot of the hits that you see here, are examples of players either thinking they will not be the target of big hits or they do not know how to prepare for one. Therefore, the big hits look even more dramatic when they have no idea about receiving or delivering contact. The result is a flopping ragdoll effect.

    • I dont disagree. As a Devils fan I am giving props to Trouba. I didn't say anything negative in my comment. lol.@@michaelmaira1515

  • The NHL needs to do something about the fact that play stops after every single big hit. It's part of the game, if your guy has his head down the whole way down the ice or isn't looking where he's going and takes a shoulder to the chest, then he shoulda known better. I've taken a few smacks in my day and it feels how youd imagine getting hit by a truck would feel but these guys are professionals, let them give a hit and not be jumped immediately.

    • Can’t do anything about it sticking up for ur teammates is part of the game u lay the hit u answer the bell that’s how it’s always been but I agree then clean big hits no need for fighting afterwards take the hit if it’s clean it’s part of the game

    • @@jackmcbride430 yeah if its a dirty hit or god forbid he hits your goalie then absolutely jump him but yeah clean hits are clean hits best way to get em back is to lay a good hit back or score

  • Toughest athletes on the planet. Idc what anybody says. Dudes play at an extremely fast speed, on the hardest surface you can possibly play on while skating on razor sharp blades that can (and occasionaly DOES) slice you wide open. I can literally FEEL the hurt when I see a big hockey hit... I don't get that same feeling when I see a big football hit. Most underrated and criminially underappreciated sport of all time. The level of skill (and balls) that this game takes is insane.

  • Maybe NHL needs NFL equipment. Lots of players getting hurt with "clean" hits that have no real purpose except showing off, cause pain, intimidation or revenge. Most hits are after the puck is released, or sometimes before it's even touched.

  • One thing you'll never see, is Trouba hitting a guy who is expecting it. He's always looking for the guy who's already busy/focused on an upcoming play. Keep your head up. Yes. We all know that. But searching for guys to hit who aren't expecting it, doesn't make you a tough guy. Imho.
