    • It's not about safety of players, it's about the *appearance* of safety. If it looks big enough or sounds loud enough it gets flagged. Get better equipment, get better post-career care, and let people actually make contact in a contract sport.

Funny thing about Appalachian State's upset over Michigan in 2007, 34-32, is what they don't say about the aftermath. 6 defensive, 3 offensive, and another 3 special teams players all were on IR for several weeks after that game. Now we know that Appalachian State are not slouches and we know they're not just underdogs, they won 4 straight bowl games in the FBS before losing in 2021 in a close one, have won a lot of games since coming to the FBS.

  • Having played collegiate defensive back. I understand how theyre buckling down on these hits. When a receiver is in the air like that it’s so easy to level them. But when your feet are on the ground you need to keep your head on the swivel.
