Mercedes-AMG A45 S vs Toyota Supra DRAG RACE | MOTOR
Timecodes below! The Mercedes-AMG A45 S and Toyota Supra GTS might seem an odd pairing but this drag race was much closer than we expected!
Both of these cars cost just below AUD$100K and even though they make their performance quite differently (all-wheel drive vs rear-wheel drive and four-cylinders vs six), the level of performance on offer is actually quite similar.

Had a friend of a neighbor visit in his A45s while I was washing my Supra, had a nice chat and admired each other's cars, this was exactly the head to head I was looking for, interesting to see these 2 cars have such similar performance!

Been reading Modern Motor mag tests since the 80s and now love your modern youtube tests. Thumbs up for the street start!! Thats the kind of start most normal drivers use at the lights, yet hardly anyone tests it. A 0-100 in different takeoff modes would have been nice! Aussie roadtest rock.

I was expecting the Supra to clearly win the roll race. Interesting because it had a higher trap speed in the 1/4 than the A45

@@supitsolivlogs it’s all lie and bs here in states 3.6 3-7 to 60 mph and quater 11.7 11-8 and rolling race guaranteed to walk that a45 amg . This is scam and bs maybe it’s not broken in yet ? Under 500 miles? Not sure but I assure u Supra is way faster than a45 amg has no chance even at drag racing
@@bman1668 stock quarter mile on the 2020 Supra with 340hp is 12.0. So 11.7-11.8 seems reasonable for the 2021 since it has more power.

One very important factor not mentioned here: is the supra a 2020 or 2021 model year? There's a big difference between the two.

Yes... especially if starting in 1st just causes wheel spin. That's why the new M4 rwd launches in 2nd gear.

Not sure where this test was but you guys suck at driving , here in the states Supra does 3.6 3.7 to 60mph and quater mile in 11.7-11.8 so it beats that amg every time and roll race amg has no chance either . Supra top end is monster not sure how it lost here maybe it’s not in sport Mode or defective lemon Supra?

Nah man, the receding hairlines dude don’t know how to drive. I’ve gotten 11.8 stock and 11 flat with just a intake and exhaust, and larger rear tires.
the one driving the mercedes is terible starter. The Supra need to give him a chance in round 3 by using 2nd gear for picking up..OMG...very slow respond driver..vomit blood.

Downpipes and a tune for the Supra and it would beat the A45s all day long. All for under $2k.

@@SeanyMacks Oh don't get me wrong, I love the A45, I leased one for a few years. The B58 in the Supra can make silly power with 2k compared to 2k in upgrades for the A45.

@@chrisosullivan1500 No the Supra is not necessarily much better, these are very well matched cars. I will say the Supra has a very healthy aftermarket and much more activity going on with the scene to make them faster. 45s doesn't have that same cult following, regardless both great cars.
Supra taking on a 2016 Merc. The new AMG 45 S Is almost 400kw. Toyota can only compete with old German cars
the Supra Just being a extremely ugly car and shouldnt be compare with the A45s... will choose the A45s anytime, any day...
Their both German cars , nothing in the supra is Japanese, it’s all bmw. And comfort mode is always a waste of time.
