Not sure if youre reading this but in every video you do. You should add a clip showing how the ambient lighting looks at night. I think that is something very important to add as it is a big part of a cars interior today.

I really like what Mercedes and AMG are doing with the A, CLA and GLA right now. Great interiors, great motor, fun to drive, proper enthusiast AWD system, etc. There's a lot to like!
Agree but the seats are shit though. So uncomfortable and lack of adjustment is just ridiculous in a car that costs this much.

I was thinking the same thing. I mean if Skoda can make a rally car, Amg can as well. Budget is definitely not the reason they never tried. If they can spend billions on F1 and GT racing then it would be nice to take some of that money and make a rally car.

Bruno Begic they definitely wont do that at the moment since they are losing a lot of money this year and not looking forward to a bright future. They lose money on every single sold car, have to lay off 10% of their employees (which means 30.000 people lose their job) and just cant compete with other manufacturers because tjeir cars are too Expansive to produce because they are made put of way more parts and the amount of options and different configurations is huge

Small weight, all wheel drive, superfast automatics, and turbocharged engines (with potential eletric motors) does that. Wonderful times we live in; 15-20 years ago Ferraris and Lambos were going a little under 5 seconds to 100 kmh(60mph), now an entry amg car goes 3.6

I’d love to see a comparison between the different adaptive cruise control systems that are on offer. I absolutely hated it on my ‘14 Audi S3. It started breaking far too early when approaching a lorry in the slowlane. Also in traffic it used to keep too much distance between the car in front of you, so everyone jumped in front of you. Also, you couldn’t disengage the adaptive cruise control and ‘engage’ traditional cruise control... So how good/bad are the systems from Mercedes or BMW etc.? For now I’ve gone back to traditional cruise control on my current car. Works for me!

I'm using the Supersport display on my A35 every day and it's awesome. You just need to configure it a bit. You need to move your touch-pads top and bottom in all three sections to get what you want. In the middle section you can get pretty much you what you had in the G-class.
@Aru Sub not bad at all. Mostly driving in the city I'm averaging 11.2-11.4 l/100km (not sure what mpg this corresponds to 😅). The lowest I got was 7.0l/100km on a slow, slow 200km ride.
I much prefer this type of video as apposed to the silly and not so informative drag race stuff . Matt is really at his best here . He is the best car journo by far .

He’s not exactly forthcoming though is he? It’s a nice car, terrible colour. Not to mention it’s German. Amazing engineering, that only lasts for about 50k km before it falls apart and needs a another 2500 sterling in maintenance and repairs. Mercedes is a joke. Ford, as much as you may hate them, make a car that lasts. It’s embarrassing that the yanks beat the whole of Europe engineering. Have a laugh, yet, it’s true!

In South Africa, both the A45S and A35 cost more than an M4. The A45S costs as much as an M4 CS.
In india,the 150-200% price increase due to taxes and duties means that reasonable drivers cars cost as much high end sports cars,hence ppl have to make do with boring commuters😭😭

Hey, just got the A45s, but I actually prefer the old a45. Something about actual analogue Speedo rather than digital. Plus I find that whilst the new A45s has significantly improved the acceleration lag I found in comfort mode which the old A45 had (where I’d put my foot down and it took the car a few seconds to kick in)... I don’t want to drive it in comfort mode, I want to drive in sport +, and in manual... and in manual, I find the A45s a bit laggy in shift changes. And I can’t tell you how sad I was about the sound down grade with the exhaust system. With the improved comfort mode, and quiet sound engine, and terrible fuel economy of the new A45s, I almost wish I had bought a Tesla! All the fun bits of the A45 were in the old model... AND I don’t rate the burmeister sound system, I think the Harmon kardon system in the old A45 a LOT more punchier, with great surround and a nice deep base. This just doesn’t compare. What do you think? Ps, I like your show, but I notice you don’t review the sound systems in them... why is that? I think audio is important, and good speakers are essential in any car.

I'm upgrading from a 2018 W176 A45 and, wow, the difference in quality is massive. My only disappointment is that I can't get a matte grey in Australia like I could with the W176.

Yes god forbid we ever have a hatchback. You can buy a hatch of an A or C class in Canada, even though they barely have a tenth of our population, plus offering them for sale in the US wouldn't cost anything as Canada and the US basically have identical requirements for things like lighting and safety. Better jack up every hatchback sold everywhere else 2 inches and cover it up with plastic cladding - instant hit! At least on the worst instance of this I've ever seen (CX-30) we still have the hatchback available over here (mazda3). I daily drive a Golf R just because I wanted a nice hatch with features, and it's one of the few. I would've just gotten a regular golf but they cheapen the crap out of the Mexican ones they sell here.

A few years ago I learnt in America the reason why there's so many SUV and larger cars is because of something called the "chicken" tax. Long story short, it's cheaper to buy a 4wd/SUV than a smaller car or smaller truck like a Toyota Hilux.

The government has not taken any real initiative to develop rural road networks . But most of the roads in India are well maintained. Pakistan is a bit inferior in that scenario. Great video. Concerning the exhaust noise you're probably dealing with a speaker under the car's bonnet. Saying this because I saw it in a Golf R. They're amplifying the noises because they know it sounds not how you'd want it. Other option is that the stereo speakers make a broom broom sound when you press the pedal.

Nah, I would take the A45s any day over the G. It looks better, is more aerodynamic, has plenty of Horsepower for a hot hatch and is practical because it's not a huge Off road vehicle that some idiot put on the street.

It does look like a lumpy custard pudding In this colour. Some yellows work and some yellows don’t. Even nice yellows need the right body shape to make them work. This is a very dull yellow on a dumpy body shape and it’s not working at all.

Yes, you can turn it off, but the problem is that she's meant to respond when you say "Hey, Mercedes", not "Mercedes". They haven't quite got it right yet. A work in progress. I've turned mine off. Otherwise you have to say, "Merc", "Benz", or some other variation of "Mercedes" unless you want to have a conversation with her...
All the voice functions still work via the steering wheel button even if the “hey Mercedes” is turned off.

Actually you can customize the Supersport Display to have it look very comparable as the one in the G63 by just swiping up and down with the left touchpad. There is also the option of a big rev counter in the middle 😄👍🏻
Great video Matt, one idea for the Merc, could be you popping to a track with it and its rivals and seeing which is fastest with you in it vs which is faster with a Stig in it. Plus maybe the time difference in different driving modes, is track the fastest mode etc. You could also take a proper hot hatch along too to see the time different, maybe a focus ST?
I bought a 2020 Mini Countryman cooper s sport and the only thing the new petrol filter did was prevent the car from popping and banging. But it still sounds mental so I’m happy with it. Nothing better than starting it early morning when it is 1 degrees in the uk, sounds amazing and annoys the neighbours.

Until now, the RS3 was my favourite of these super hot hatches, but for me this thing overtakes the RS3 sportback on every category but engine sound, and possibly interior design (I don`t love how the screens look like they`re just leaning against the dash rather than being more fluidly integrated into the dash design) It may even dethrone the RS3 saloon as my fav small rocket if I look at it long enough I will say I`m super hyped for the next gen RS3 to drop to see how both cars comparr, though after a quick google search, I don`t love what I`m seeing from the spy shots

Had my A45S (Plus spec in Denim Blue) for 4 months & 4,000 miles. Absolutely love it ! It’s an absolute beast, that is still fun to drive ‘sensibly’ ! Have to admit that the Audi RS3 sounds much better though ! Excellent review Mat
